    I've seen this tire set up before, but Austin's was more clearly explained and demonstrated. Go left, baby! 👍 🏁

    Asphalt guys do the same. Buy a new tire, about 12/32” of tread then get someone to shave the tread of to a few /32’s of an inch to create a more of a slick.

    Kenny, it has gotten a lot more technical than it was in the early 1970s. I remember when Firestone came along great traction but 1 or 2 race durability ; but if you wanted to win you had to have them!

    Those tittles on the tires is the rubber being pulled up into the mold vents during cure cycle.

    • @LTV_inc
      @LTV_inc 2 роки тому

      It actually during the fill cycle of the mold and they are there to let air out so there’s no voids or unfilled areas, it’s called a bleed. All rubber on elastomeric tooling has them. Rubber actually shrinks during cure or cross linking. If you really want to know how something is made…..ask an Engineer!…..😎

    Out here in Montana we swipe our road tires in the winter for icy conditions. With that many tires would it be a good idea to get a siping machine? You can set distance across the tread as well as the depth of cut.

    Well grooving and tire stagger is the key to short tracks on dirt. Dick trickle told me when he drove for bud Moore and Greg moore that stagger was key in short tracks. On asphalt stagger is key. When trickle drove for bud he was a setup guru on short tracks. He didn't win 1000 plus short tracks k owing little. Nice driver and your friend. I hate his death..he was a friend

    Now this maybe a silly question but after the 4 steps are the wheel assemblies balanced? And if so how? I would imagine folks wouldn’t want those lead weights used on street rims flying off during a race. Thanks for the Austin Tire Tips!! That man sure knows how to get rid of them tits. 😆 cheers from BC

    Such bull shit. It's killing the sport. Meaning the tire price. I've heard at big shows there only allowing you to buy two tires per team per day. I run a hobby stock an they have recently made us go to Hoosier racing tires. When we used to run street tires we were running the Cooper cobras same price but they last a lot longer then we have to buy racing tires now and they only last maybe two races if you're lucky. An everyone is on back order
