    How do you get your hands to sync up? That’s where I fail. It seems like your picking hand moves slowly and the neck hand is doing most of the work.

    • @Isaiah_McIntosh
      @Isaiah_McIntosh 3 роки тому

      It's a function of his technique. He's doing alt picking for multiple notes on single string and sweeps for single notes per string. The last note of each multi note per string gets hammered on or pulled off which gives his right hand more time creating the effortless sort of look. He said in an interview that it's how he's been practicing to play stuff for almost a decade at this point so PRACTICE.

    I can think of guitar performances I’ve seen which are flashier - faster, more reliant on multiple advanced or extended techniques, full of improvisatory flourishes, etc. - but I honestly can’t recall another performance which demonstrates such extremely high levels of precision, accuracy, attention to detail, and complete control over technique and instrument. Guthrie Govan is the only guitarist who’s come to mind as being about equal to you in these respects, in my opinion, and he’s a god of technique and control. Fantastic work man.

    I’m about to give up wow. I’ve played over 35 years and I simply don’t have the ability to do even a few seconds of that piece. This guy is unreal. You can practice technique all you want but there is some undefinable awareness or ability that is just engrained for a few very fortunate players. You can improve greatly through hard work and I’ve done that, but cmon, how many people could ever achieve that ever? That was amazing.

    • @lex.cordis
      @lex.cordis 3 роки тому

      Probably not very long at all. When you have an insanely good ear (which he undoubtedly has, especially when you do this at this level for a living), you can hear pretty much exactly what's going on in all the parts, so you just section everything off in chunks and that gives you a good foundation for what's going in.

      @@lex.cordis he probably has perfect pitch ;)

    • @Gregorypeckory
      @Gregorypeckory 3 роки тому +2

      @@michaelciancetta6397 Maybe, but his incredible musicianship is entirely separate from that and doesn't necessarily indicate it at all. Perfect pitch doesn't make a virtuoso, nor is it a prerequisite.

    • @michaelciancetta6397
      @michaelciancetta6397 3 роки тому

      Google and download Reaper, it's essentially free.
      When you open it, click 'still evaluating', then drag whatever song into the the program (the big stripy window). Double click the waveform, a little window with different properties pops up, find 'Playback rate' and change it from 1.0 to whatever you like, .5 for half, .25 for 25% speed etc., apply, done, hit 'space' for play.
