The way I look at it, getting your pilots license is like getting a college degree!! You can do it within a year and the Cost is much much much cheaper than a four year degree in most fields!!! Let’s freakin fly dude!!!!!
I would love to get my airplane or helicopter license. I was going to get it in high school and try to make a career of it, but couldnt get the commercial medical. So never pushed it. I just pay for rides here and there now. Road in a open cockpit Stearman a few years back. Highly recommend that, it was so much fun!
Was really in love with rotorwing but saw more income potential in fixed. I'm late pursuing the dream, but this spring will be clearing everything off the plate and going for my private license, with the goal of one day flying small private planes commercially, and who knows, maybe flying freight for a big company a few years later.
Getting so close to 100k Parker, Proud of you. I need to get dental work done, and I would love for you to be my dentist, but I am in Arkansas. But when I am ever in florida and need dental work, I now where I'm going.
I worked with helicopter spraying timber land for many years. Loved riding in the heli as many times as I could and worked with one from 1998 till bout 2010/2012. Was so much fun and I really enjoyed it. I went thru a tough divorce and shit hit the fan and I got a local job to be there for my kids and raise them. Their mom decided was running wild and I couldn’t be way away worrying bout her leaving them home for several days at a time
My 1% today was actually moving some buckets of water from our neighbours leaking bore into my garden water tank after being sick an tearing some muscles on Christmas day (amazing how quick i was worn out compared to pre christmas, but they said was 4-8 week recovery) Thanks for the upload, your a trooper for the content uploads :)
So happy you got such a great life and I love your whole out look on life. The 1% idea is awesome but mine is secret for today Parker. Hugs to Winston.
Dang brother! Very informative. Would love to get my pilot’s license but don’t really have the extra change right now. Hopefully soon though! Did my discovery flight last year. Single engine airplane though. I’ve always been scared of helicopters until I watched y’all’s auto rotation videos! That’s bad ass!
I bought throwing knives last week. Been practicing for 5 days. Better sport than playing bean bags IMO. Buying Tomahawks next. That’s my 1% better today
Method two: Joint the Army as a Warrant Officer. 6 year commitment for flight but paid time as a student and guaranteed flight time after training and assignment. Not a recruiter, just passing along information.
Great video (very honest), a lot of flight schools won’t tell you that most likely you will have to go above the minimum hours in order to be ready for a checkride.
To learn to fly a helicopter is expensive. I did a student loan of $45,000 and an additional $5,000 out-of-pocket to be able to do that: private pilot, commercial pilot, second class medical, instrument rating, SFAR73 sign off, Grand Canyon sign off … I learned to fly helicopters in Las Vegas. After school, I taught for a couple years, flew tours in the Grand Canyon for more than 6 years, and flew EMS for 2 years.
@dyakr4368 - I liked it; landing on freeways, surface streets, roof-tops, at airports. It was an adventure; but on my first day, my instructor said to me: “Beware the nurses and paramedics” … the gossipy vicious women. That really marred the experience. I’ve watched people quit rather than deal with it.
@dyakr4368 - we’d all just sit around and wait for the phone call. Sitting around included doing some housework, studying, meal prep, napping, watching TV, playing video games, playing volleyball. There were a couple times when I got calls back to back and was out most of the day … most of the time we sat around & waited.
@dyakr4368 - if you’ve looked at accident / incident statistics, you’ll see that flying EMS is the most hazardous, with the most crew fatalities of any assignment flying a helicopter.
Hi Parker, your punching some good video out lately. the coins was funny! 😂😂 You need to get a $1000 jetski challenge with cleet, jack & the boys.. (like the $2500 boat challenge). and you should get ty to compound turbo ruby while cleets out of the shop..
Hey Andrew, how it’s going? My name is Sammie. I’m looking into investing into a new career involving helicopters. Got any pointers for me about this path?
This was awesomely informative. Would it work similarly if you were to get your single engine fixed wing license first, and then the helicopter license? As in does anything carry over?
I did it the way that I was paid 😂 went into the military and got my license that way. Private is much better then going the route I did but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Now...try doing this in Australia for that cost,...for what you spent on your helicopter rating, would just get you your aeroplane ppl over here, when I got my license back in 99, I was able to fly for recreation without too much drama, cut to present day a lot if not most pilots that I see on a daily basis (I work in the industry as an avionics tech) , fly for business , very few fly for pleasure and those that do , own there own aircraft and have the financial means to do so relatively comfortably and if they don't own their aircraft, they're in a significant financial position that the cost of flying to them is water off a ducks back. General aviation is now so far out of reach to the average person over here that for many it's now relegated to a dream that may never be realized
I have been told repeatedly if I want both my helicopter and airplane pilot licenses I have to get my airplane then my helicopter license. Something about the knowledge and credits transferring. Is that not true?
Does Parker know how much he sounds like Jeff Bezos, he could be a voice actor for Jeff so weird. I listened to the Jeff Bezos podcast by Alex Friedman and about halfway through it hit me that he and Parker sound identical 😎✈️
WAIT, WHAT??!! You’re a pilot and don’t know the difference between Class C and Class D airspace? Class D airspace is what exists for an airport with an operating control tower. Class C airspace doesn’t have anything to do with control towers.
@@DoctrParker Okay, I guess I'll give a little on this. I took what you said literally which was that you said because the airport was in Class C airspace it had an operating control tower, which is not true. There are airports in Class C airspace that don't have control towers that operate continuously or control towers at all. The primary airport in Class C airspace has a control tower that generally operates continuously, and the Class C (or B) airspace replaces the Class D airspace for that primary airport. For towered airports that are not the primary airport within Class B or C airspace, the airspace associated with that airport while the control tower is active is Class D airspace.
Prop pilot here never went to rotary wing as I prefer not to fly things that need to beat the air into submission to stay airborne no offence meant hope none taken.
Teeth and transparency has become my favorite videos !

so informative. You are so open on cost which is cool. Very much enjoy your brother , grandfather and family glue. Keep it up. Houston Texas
You’ve been killing it with the uploads man! Love the consistency and always looking forward to the next upload. 👍

What if you have a wild mullet-haired brother that owns his own chopper?

Cool to see this broken down! Would love to see more videos like this
My agency is looking into starting an aviation unit so here I am. We have the ability to acquire either an OH6 or n OH58.

How does this work I’m interested?
Its a 10 year ADSO now.
Smart to do those fixed wing hours, as they can often be used as your total for many jobs.
Yes they can!
When I got serious about wanting my private helo-license 7-8 yrs ago, it was about $15,000 Cdn here in Alberta... I can only imagine the cost now.
Great video (very honest), a lot of flight schools won’t tell you that most likely you will have to go above the minimum hours in order to be ready for a checkride.
Thank you and yes I agree. You can never have too much much time
Yeaaaahhhhh, definitely doing the r22 route. Lol

Loving the new content just wondering if you are going to build another drag car or are you just moving on from that
Not sure yet! We’ll see
@DrMitchell no matter what I'm going to watch your videos can't wait for that long tail river boat to gap the dew boat and the boostedboiz boat 🤣🤣
Well I'll scratch that dream off my list, didn't expect those type of numbers
Can get student loans to pay for it. Would still be cheaper than getting a useless college degree.
Stick to airplanes and experimental aircraft
Just passed my ASEL check ride yesterday. Possibly looking to get a helicopter license add on.
Hey Andrew, how it’s going?
My name is Sammie. I’m looking into investing into a new career involving helicopters.
Got any pointers for me about this path?
At least twice as much up here in Canada.
We talked at the gas station last year at C&C. What lift did you end up getting for the garage?
Funds won’t allow me to even try. But this is my dream. And to fly an MD530.
Mobil dental service in a Helicopter....I'd pay big bucks for that service!
When you lean out the door to spit, be careful of us below.
I have 2 cracked and rotting wisdom teeth. Can you do the precidure?
Let’s see some drag cars
Stoked, let’s fly
This was awesomely informative. Would it work similarly if you were to get your single engine fixed wing license first, and then the helicopter license? As in does anything carry over?
Yes, If you have your ppl then you only need 30 hrs for the helicopter license add on
Why is rotary more expensive than fixed when fixed wings pay more than rotary 😐
Today I smoked 1% less crack

So knowing what you know now. Would you do plane first helicopter second ?
For money yes. For skill no. Starting with the hardest first made the transition a lot easier.
@@DoctrParker thank you
Why would anyone do primary training in an R44? There are very few helicopter jobs so it’s not worth it.

I have been told repeatedly if I want both my helicopter and airplane pilot licenses I have to get my airplane then my helicopter license. Something about the knowledge and credits transferring. Is that not true?
Yes. To save $$$ start with a fixed wing rating then get your rotorcraft add on. Good luck!
Drank one fewer 2L Dr. Pepper today.
I guess the Army or related flight corps, would be cheaper
More like they would be paying you for all this. And your doing a service to the usa
@@tdenver68no, you’re doing a service for Israel.
I didn’t have work today but I got up drive around and got a wheel repair and made $450
Boom made $450 I like it
Thank you for the video.
Thank you for watching!
Deff fly in dentist. I'll sign up. Lol
Trying to do at least 100 pushups a day, even when I make it to the gym.
Jst remembered, I'd better brush my teeth 😬 😂😅
Meanwhile, this school is charging me 90k in Florida for fixed wing.
I worked to get 1% better on my jiu-jitsu today.
A baggage handler can fly...can it do a back flip.... simulator and games are cheaper.
