- Abandoned Shell - Brinkley, AR. Today we take a little walk around this old gas station / truck stop for those travelling across I-40 in Arkansas. Based on info we found, this place closed within the last 3 years and the reviews of this place were bad. Top that off with the owners charging truckers to park overnight... and they'll just go elsewhere as well as the customers. Now it sits here a mess.

Shell is a former a Shell of what it was... Welcome to The Abandoned Shell in Brinkley, Arkansas....
We have an abandoned Rainbow clothing store, JC Penny's, and if I am not mistaken, several others! It was a great video and I enjoyed watching! 👍😀
Looks like late 1990's Gilbarco optimized fuel dispensers in the front, and judging by the one Shell pump topper, that advertisement is from around 2014, or 15 when Shell introduced V Power Nitro+
Looks like this was a nice place 20-25 years ago. Heck, I looked it up on Google street view, and it was still pretty clean in 2018.
Looks like shells lives up to its name
Nice video, i like small town gas stations.
Another cool find, thanks Kayla
Thanks For sharing this one Wallie pretty cool video on this shell gas station buddy.
September 17th it will be opening as a Pilot. They have gutted the entire building. Took out all pumps and tore up all concrete. They have also took out the old tanks and have replaced them with new ones.
WallieB26, really enjoyed your awesome and cool abandoned video!
Cool!! Happy New Year🥳🤯🥂🍾🍻✨🎇🎆🎊🎉
I'm from arkansas and live here.. great videos
Awesome video 👌
Love the Retail Videos you post brother. I work for Timewise, which is partnered with Shell and is owned by Landmark Industries. Keep up the good work!
Sweet find wallie
When I passed through in 2015 the KFC was already closed but the Shell was still open. Google Maps passed by in 2013 and the KFC was already closed and relocated next door. When they passed by again in May 2018 the shell was already closed.
Those diesel pump canopy area reminds me of the closed truck stop in North Lima.
Keep the videos coming dude
There was definitely a KFC there at one point. I used to work there 20 years ago. There was also a Baskin Robbins inside the Shell side at one point. I don't know why it closed though as I moved from Brinkley many years ago. Sad to see it in this shape though.
👍 awesome video
Greatvideo
Yes
Nice little gas station. I’ve never seen a KFC attached to a gas station.
Owner should be fined for the filth and garbage.
Definitely a KFC attached, awesome find both of you. Thanks for sharing
that has not closedfor that long since that gas station has led lights on the overhang
Was just going to say that!
Update: the former shell location became a place called one 9 now as of 2022
The place was disgusting. It stank of sewer and festering grease. The owner/manager was an unwelcoming pr*** from the moment you walked into the door. Restroom was closed to non paying customers or "you can leave" (complete with the waving of arms and hands). Prices were exorbitant ($1.50/ pack of stick gum. $2.50/20oz soda pop, etc.) Yes the otr drivers were forced to pay to park as it was (at the time) one of the only three places to park. General consensus here is that we were all glad to see it closed. No, Brinkley is not a dead town, save for agriculture, we aren't thriving, but we aren't going anywhere soon.
🤟😎👍 from Brinkley, AR
It's also a truck stop almost 4 years since shell brinkley closed it's doors.
Looks like the owner probably was going to upgrade the gas station & ran out of money possibly
Wynne Arkansas here
gazzola memorial hospital in brinkley door is open you will not get caught it is very cool would recommend
Good video! There aren't too many Shell stations left, like there used to be!
There is one abandoned in Tchula MS
It sold for 400k march 8th 2019 it's just under 5000 square foot.
I'm assuming thar it was purchased as a investment then covid put pressure on the project like alot of investment projects at the time.
That being said getting it back into usable condition will take a decent amount of money as it needs coolers, flooring, electrical ect then for the exterior it would need new windows, retin where KFC was prior, replace the parking lot and new lighting and fuel dispensers.
So getting it back in operation will take atlesst another 400k
If your ever near Fort smith Arkansas consider checking out the old truck stop in mountainburg it's across from the dollar general
This is reopening Sept 17th as a Pilot.
I checked google maps after watching the video to see in street view if it was indeed a KFC attached to the gas station. I reversed street view to 2007 and KFC was actually attached to the Shell gas station. I thinked the KFC moved next door with taco bell around 2010 or 2013.
Hey WallieB26 :)
You and David tied for being first for video that’s a first for me.
In the current days, you gotta look nice, or no money, and the Delta Repair sign used to be the KFC sign, from a photo i found on loopnet, which tells you if a place is being sold or not, So by seeing the photo, the KFC moved first.
They basically built the Taco Bell next door in 2009 or 2010 and opened it as a combination Taco Bell/KFC. There was no need keep a restaurant in the gas station when there was the option to do two restaurants in one building.
@@jmurraymo81 what Taco Bell attachment to kfc is insanely rare, never seen one in person.
I’m from Arkansas and there is a abandoned Walmart not far from me
$7 to $10 for truckers just to sleep overnight. That's a huge ripoff, if i was a trucker and i had to pay that much just to sleep, i would drive until i found a Love's or something. No wonder why this place closed and dirty as hell, well in every Shell I've been in, they're all like that.
hey wallieb26 it looks like it was a shell gas station at one point of time and then the shell gas company walked away from it and then it became a stand alone gas station
looking at Google Maps it appears to have been a Shell station to the end. But it's hard to say for sure. It was open in 2016 as a Shell station but the next time they were through in 2018 it was already closed and the Shell signs removed.
Awesome video I would like to go to Texas never been there keep up the good work
@/arkansas Y'all!
So it was a truck stop
Was the fast food place actually a KFC? The building is a reminisce of a KFC.
It was. I found the station on Google Maps and thanks to the feature of seeing previous years you can see the KFC sign under the Shell sign by the highway. It appears what happened is that where the Taco Bell/KFC is was once an empty lot.
The 2009 image shows dirt having been plowed in that lot which I assume was the start of construction of that. So they basically built the new restaurant next door so that they could sell two different brands of food instead of one.
There was also an earlier KFC apparently in Brinkley. If you follow US 49 south into town you'll see a laundromat that the building definitely has the older KFC characteristics to it.
Kayla sure has a good eye!
Just did some googleing, in 2019 it was sold to someone
Backwoods hillbilly Arkansas 😂😂😂
