I never stopped teaching. I just stopped posting online. Someone with a wealth of knowledge in a completely different field like Chinese derived martial arts would debate the validity of what I'm doing having no knowledge ancient Japanese warrior Arts. It got to be silly so I stopped posting.

looks like someone is familiar with quite a few bujinkan taijutsu methods, both in practice and theory.

Excellent video! I kept waiting for you to do bojutusu (use a 6' long staff) though; the bo staff is my favorite weapon - hard to beat the reach with another melee weapon

So it's lap sau - duck under - throw over the shoulder?

      ? what do you mean?

sogobujutsu The wristlock and the use of the weapon are the only thing that varies, right? You're using the twist in their arm to throw them, but when they don't give you the grip, you stay outside, lap sau (sorry wing chun terminology), step to inside while turning, and clear their center of mass to create the twist- fundamentally you're twisting yourself and then imparting it to them when you pull down. Am I close?

That's part of it for sure. We aren't exactly showing you everything in this video. But it gives you an idea that we can do with multiple weapons what we lack to show is all the other applications.

Oddly enough Tenaha Nage looks a lot like Shiho Nage.

    WHY ... ?!?

I am watching your videos for two days now and this video is the first that I dislike.
    Why is that?
Your martial art principles are very strong but you are now misusing it.
You have a great deal of degree in this field and in your previous videos where you presented great martial science and philosophy, those are very wise and trustworthy, but now it looks wrong to me.
You wanted to show to us that one technique and one principle can be used for multiple applications. Are those applications realistic? Suppose i really knew and trained Tehana Nage, it would be impossible to execute it in a real fight situation because that technique is too complexed and demands a lot of movement, which I can execute only if I have a total control over my opponent. That control can be established by punch, knife, sickle, cane, staff etc. but only if you hit your opponent in such way to make him not unable to retaliate. These are not right ways. Cut throat - yes; cut leg - nope. Opponent would not even attack you if you had any of these weapons.
I respect you and your martial art, but you must understand that, to me who has trained and read about martial arts for as long as i know about myself, this is very poorly presented. I would love to see this technique executed in more realistic scenario. I know that you are not a cinema and that your knowledge comes with a certain price, but if you are trying to promote your martial art, the principles about time and distance are not being taken into a count, and those were explained by you quite well.
I would have asked you this in person but since we are so far away i must use comments.
Wish you the very best from Serbia!

I understand where you're coming from. We chose one simple attack for the attacker to do so that we could show how the principle is applied in the same direct manner. The difficulty was demonstrating to the public is, should we change too many components in the demo, we will lose many people, and make it too difficult to understand. This technique can be applied to a any attack, whether it be armed or unarmed; whether it be a punch, ahead but, kick, baseball bat swing, Etc.
As far as the technique's effectiveness, I have use this technique against a kickboxer that attacked me during a martial arts class I was taking at a college. I had no problem flipping him side down landing on his head. So, Tehana Nage works. This video is a demonstration about printable and how it can be applied in many facets. I am certain that no one video could answer all questions. The purpose behind this is to Inspire people to learn more about Sogobujutsu.

If what you're saying is true and you have watched our videos for two days... I must say it is a shame that the only comment we have received so far is a negative one.

      Thank you for your reply!
When I read my comment several times I realized that I put too much emphasizing on negative.
I strongly agree that you do not deserve only negative. I wrote this comment to straighten things up first with myself because I saw in your stories and examples very serious and strong principles that are applicable in a real combat. Then suddenly by chains of your video lessons I came across something in which I did not see those principles. Now some are clearer and after reading your side makes much more sense. You see, since I cannot train Sogobujutsu in my country I can only educate myself (for whatever its worth) through your videos. I am watching every single thing with an open mind and objectively.
I think that you should not label my comment because it was written to be constructive: for you and me!
      Best regards from Serbia!

Fair enough. I hope you will consider coming to visit us and train in person. Or inviting us to your country to do seminar some day.

sigh ... there is always that one self-proclaimed martial arts "expert" keyboard warrior who needs to ruin it for everyone ...
