You can get into zone 5 without technically getting max, though. I think it’s just because the game tells you you get max, so people assume it does something.
I have used Monster Musk in Volcano Dungeon many times. It is what allowed me to complete Monster Eradication Goal in just couple days. Monster Musk is a great stuff. The trick is to not die from its sheer greatness :)))))
I have undebiable proof right in-video that i was actively watching this stream when it happened - but my memories been so grabage lately i dont remember pretty much anything! so this is basically all new content again for me (/lighthearted) 😂 keep it up blade!
The bait code interests me. What would happen if you hacked a non-bait item into the bait slot such as a stack of pumpkins or another fishing rod? Would they get used up? If not you could get a permanent fishing buff, assuming there was some way to glitch items into the slot. I also wonder if a bait item could have its data corrupted in some way with this to some effect. That bit about the bamboo rod increasing the chance for fish is also interesting. That makes it sound like it would be optimal for finding treasure chests before getting magnets or bobbers.
When you were looking at the code for the effect of monster musk and there was no effect on slimes, was that specifically slimes in the volcano dungeon, or does monster musk just not affect slimes at all?
What on earth was that choice of factor for the reduction of monster chance on the forest floors at 57:55? 0.6600000262260437 seems extremely arbitrary. I wonder if it comes from somewhere, or was chosen for any particular reason.
So basically, most programming languages are limited in division, there's only certain numbers it can accurately divide by. It's accurate enough that rounding will pretty much get the same number anyway and no one cares. More specifically, it will always end up dividing by (2^x)-1 where x is the number of bits that are available to store the number, for example 255 if it's one byte (8 bits), or 65535 if it's 2 bytes (16 bits).
The only benefit max gives you is the distance. Enough distance you get into a new fishing zone. Edit: apparently anyway. I don't know how it works exactly but apparently farther out is rarer fish I guess.
What I've been wondering about (and I'm not sure if maybe you addressed this during the magnet code and I missed it) is one time I was trying to catch a Tilapia. I couldn't hook it, and I checked the wiki and noticed it was described as a vegetarian fish. I unequipped bait and cast and it was the very first fish I caught. My question: Was this coincidence? Or does the Tilapia actually not like bait?
Most Tilapias irl will eat ANYTHING, that's a big plus for fish farmers who feed them whatever they have. Remembering that 'Tilapia' is both the common name for several different fish species and also a genus of fishes - some fishes that are called Tilapias actually belongs to different genus (fish phylogeny is very messy...)
Myth(s) for next time: daily luck (or ice fishing hole position? Or fishing level?) affects the amount of fish you can reel in during the ice fishing festival. Why I’m wondering? Because I’m good at the fishing mini game and the fish you catch during the festival are easy, but there have been years where even with only perfect catches, I couldn’t even get enough fish on the hook to win the festival. Only trash and algae.

Can mixed seeds be used to hold soil and/or fertilizer from 1 season to the next? I.e. Can I plant mixed seeds on the 28th of the month, knowing they will die on the 1st, so I don't have to till on Summer 1? There's so much to plant on Summer 1 having something in to hold the soil, that above all is cheap like mixed seeds, is very helpful. I've seen coffee used to hold soil from Summer into fall, and imagine Summer regrow-ables do the same, so I imagine Mixed Seeds could do the job but don't have a farm to test it out on right now easily.
I never looked at the code but I would have said the eggs works the same as the fruits in the fruit bat cave, or any other spawning area for that matter. If your quarry is full of rocks you won't get any iridium nodes spawning!
here's one: does daily luck affect the green/orange fair gambling game? it seems to me that bad daily luck always results in losing all my fair winnings. : ) interesting video for sure, thanks!
Would it be possible to break every rock on a floor in the mines and defeat every monster and not get a single ladder, or is there guaranteed to be a ladder under at least one rock?
idk about the code, but I’ve noticed whenever I’ve killed all monsters and broke all but two stone without a ladder, the penultimate stone will drop a ladder
I would call max cast bonus plausible, because if there's an instance where a max cast would put your bobber in a higher zone than you can get from a spot otherwise, then that does affect the fish and treasure chest loot. Though this may be difficult to test without doing a sample of various standing spots where the code is adjusted to only be able to cast at a distance of .99 or 1 so as to see whether the minimal extra distance over the highest non max cast is ever significant enough to affect the zone.
@@gregariosity Yes it is. Plausible, meaning potentially feasible and at least technically or theoretically possible. Ergo it is plausible that there's a functional bonus (not just a 'ding" noise) if the max cast would get you to a higher fishing zone.
If the max cast gives a boost to how far your cast goes out, does that not (usually) help the quality of the fish? I always find when I cast further away from the edge of the water I catch better quality fish
@@BlaDeSDV Ah gotcha, I think I must have misunderstood a line there. But at least with a max cast you'd know your line was going as far as possible, so was more likely to land in the best zone (most of the time... Maybe not in the rivers)!
@@isla_scottoutside of level 1 or 2 fishing Max tends to be overkill for landing in zone 5. And as you get to level 10+ the benefit barely even matters compared to your skill, and then if you're worried about profits, casting further away than needed eats up extra time, which ultimately reduces the amount of fish you can catch
I'm having a bit of a hard time with the "monster spawns are not affected by daily luck" mythbust... and from the code, I think its too early to declare "daily luck does not impact total # of monsters" without an independant / dependant variable determination.. From my understanding of the code: when a level is generated, each tile goes through a check. First - is it a rock (* daily luck modif?) then, is it a monster (no daily luck modif), then, is it an item (* daily luck modif) then is it a gemstone (* daily luck modif). If nothing, then leave as blank space. From how I see it, daily luck does not modify the probability of a tile holding a monster... but daily luck *does* affect the chance of items and geodes spawning - both of which replace a potential spawned monster (or a rock) on a tile as per their order in the code... So its not that (bad) luck increases the # of monsters, but that (good) luck increases items and gemstones - which would have been a monster *if it was a bad luck day*. (My suspicion only holds weight if rocks, monsters, items and gemstone placement are mutually exclusive. If a monster, stone, item and gemstone can all exists on the same tile - then the outcome variable of total # of monsters has independant predictor variables).
i saw someone post on reddit they edited their save file to get a specific qi quest, and for some reason i guess they changed the second quest to be 11 and it showed up as “Find Qi’s Double” it may be scrapped content or its just yknow completely fake LOL ( user/ sorry-im-not-funny )
That is true. Playing through, 20% of bushes can get salmonberries per day. Restarting the day, 50% of bushes can have them. Which bush has a salmonberry is not saved in the save file, so the game recalculates
You left out the simple option for the magnet. Fish just don't like the taste. They still bite, and you still get the same fish; they just don't like the taste.
Yeah, like, they don’t know it tastes bad, so they bite at the normal rate, but when they taste it, they dislike it.

here's one: does daily luck affect the green/orange fair gambling game? it seems to me that bad daily luck always results in losing all my fair winnings. : ) interesting video for sure, thanks!
Omni geodes can have prismatic shards so technically it can give a prismatic shard
I've actually had monsters drop Void ghost pendants (vanilla, no glitches)- startled the hell out of me.
This is a great video, I love it! Perfect for nerds
i wish adam savage read the code too
53:28 I wonder if the favorite bait code applies to fish specific bait after 1.6
Would it be possible to break every rock on a floor in the mines and defeat every monster and not get a single ladder, or is there guaranteed to be a ladder under at least one rock?
idk about the code, but I’ve noticed whenever I’ve killed all monsters and broke all but two stone without a ladder, the penultimate stone will drop a ladder
Love this vid❤
long blade video ! yippee
I phrased it as max cast gets a bonus on purpose. Getting max distance from the main casting mechanic is not a bonus imo
That’s not what the word plausible means
@@gregariosity Yes it is. Plausible, meaning potentially feasible and at least technically or theoretically possible. Ergo it is plausible that there's a functional bonus (not just a 'ding" noise) if the max cast would get you to a higher fishing zone.
My Brian hurts
41:00 we didnt start the fire
Wouldn't it be possible to find the final easter egg by reading through the code?
Depends on what it is. I am planning to do a stream of it at some point
I've been thinking about that too! It has to be in there, Somewhere. Hiding. Waiting.
Oh for frick sake it’s a 1 hour video of BlaDe making me feel dumb |: still gonna watch it.
1:45 what software is this please?
If the max cast gives a boost to how far your cast goes out, does that not (usually) help the quality of the fish? I always find when I cast further away from the edge of the water I catch better quality fish
A max cast doesn't give a boost to the distance. But yes the zone the bobber lands in does affect fish quality
Blade how do you find seeds with specific criteria? like items in the traveling cart or trash can stuff?
Someone made a program that combs all the combinations
what program are you using to read the code?
The icon looks like Visual Studio
22:18 for kitty grooming
How did i miss this upload
If a monster, stone, item and gemstone can all exists on the same tile - then the outcome variable of total # of monsters has independant predictor variables).
awesome video
i saw someone post on reddit they edited their save file to get a specific qi quest,
and for some reason i guess they changed the second quest to be 11
and it showed up as “Find Qi’s Double”
it may be scrapped content or its just yknow completely fake LOL
( user/ sorry-im-not-funny )
ive heard it and try it sometimes but im not sure if its true
that restarting the day give you more salmonberry bushes
That is true. Playing through, 20% of bushes can get salmonberries per day. Restarting the day, 50% of bushes can have them. Which bush has a salmonberry is not saved in the save file, so the game recalculates
MYTHBUSTING MONDAYS???
I always thought getting Max during fishing gave a bite rate increase..
You must be a really good Minecraft player if you can get 30,000 XP in 52.29 seconds
