After finishing perfection, I've had fun on my new beach farm where I challenged myself to only give a gift for a birthday no other gifts on any other days, only improving friendship by talking, and I must try my best to do every help wanted quest I see. No matter how inconvenient. I'm calling it my girl scout run.
The first time I played Stardew Valley, I picked the river land farm because I thought I would really like fishing. I didn't. But I did, and continue to, find endless joy in seeing the ducks swim around the farm when it updated.

Since you like Crab Pots, maybe try an Automate 100 days and see how many passive progression things you can set up at once and how far that takes you by the end of the time?
At 45:17 you have two repeating voice lines. Also you can buy honey from Sandy on one of the days of the week for 200g for your farm warp totems. Love your vids, been watching them a lot.
I just finished my attempt at this challenge, my only change to it was giving myself the whole first year to complete it rather than 100 days. I absolutely needed the full year, as I did get all 100 points. I've had this video in my background noise rotation recently and thoroughly enjoyed it- and kept wanting to try it out for myself. Noteworthy things: 1. I picked gemologist for mining, since it doubles geodes you get and upon level 10 it increases your chance to find them. Gemologist does have it's uses! 2. I finished the mining, bus, and fishing bundles before buying the joja membership. Which means I didn't finish the center until the first week of fall- but that fit into my plans as all i needed to make sure I did was get a banana tree sapling before fall ended. I chose to do the bus via bundles so I would get a crystalarium early. 3. I decided so late on who to romance, and I picked Sebastian for purely funny reasons (I named my character Ariel and designed them to look like the princess lmao.) Plus I always had frozen tears to give him, however I cut it EXTREMELY close with getting married. 4. I hit 10 hearts with him in the last week of fall, and there were no more rainy days. I spent most of winter doing skull cavern runs to find treasure rooms for rain totems (i did find them the day before the night market hit and I had to wait until it was done to get the mermaid pendant) But it did line up with getting the secret note for floor 100 so I did get snake milk! 5. One of the things I did early on was to slay enough dust sprites to get the burglar ring, since I knew monster drops would be important later on. Managed to get 3 dinosaur eggs on a prehistoric floor, and I was getting lemon stones left and right which made me chuckle. The burglar ring might be my personal favorite. Especially for skull cavern. 6. My struggle items for completing the museum were the prehistoric skull and scapula. I got the skull first from haunted skulls, and it took me until the 26th of winter to get the scapula. I opted to try to get them from skeletons without knowing how low the drop rate was but I did get it. 7. I collected 101 walnuts, getting into the walnut room on winter 27 after my banana tree had grown. (I stuck it in the greenhouse so it would be used for something and not get blocked growing) 8. On the final day of the year I got the stardrop from Sebastian which I REALLY didn't think was gonna happen. 9. My hat of this play through was the deluxe pirate hat :)
The tea cutscene still remains to be one of my favorite cutscene to this day. The only one thats stopping it from being my favorite one ever is the Krobus 14 heart cutscene.
Loved this! Was a very fun watch, and very clear how much love and work went into making this video. Idea for a new 100 day run: You are not allowed to do anything that you did the previous day. Say you fished and foraged on day 5, you are not allowed to either fish or forage on day 6 and have to do other things like go into the mines. Would mean that you have to make the absolute most of each activity each day, rather than the Stardew norm of running around doing a bunch of stuff along the way.
I once did a playthrough somewhat similar to this idea: I was only allowed to gain skill points in one area per day. (After a skill was maxed, that skill could be used even on a day when I was working on an unmaxed skill). I really enjoyed the challenge of planning what to do with each day, although progressing through the mines without being able to slay the enemies was annoying at times!
The music at 26:35 unlocked a core memory of mine. I haven't played Pokemon TCG in probably 20 years but as soon as I heard the music, I knew I recognized it from somewhere.
This challenge was actually me on my first playthrough. For some reason I decided to clear off my farm entirely before planting ANYTHING, so it took until year 2 for me to finally plant my parsnips.
Sal: I see no reason to go for Geologist (Procedes to struggle with geodes) Me: Geologists doubles not only gems, but also the geodes that you get. And at level 10 it doubles your chance to find geodes. So if you're struggling with geodes and artifacts, that's an option.
Watching the streams for this was so much fun, and I'm loving reliving all of it, from the "is a pickle a berry" discussion, and the freaking lucky ring/prism shard moments. I also love seeing all the crab pots all over again. And trying to get the dino egg from the crane game. I'm not even finished watching this video once and I know I'll be watching it again soon.
I genuinely love how settled was part of the inspiration for this challenge, I know for a fact that if he were to see this he would be overwhelmed by the fact that he was mentioned in this video let alone inspired by it. Love the video and I hope more of these come in the future
I think you would have a very different experience if you were to try this again in 1.6. Without clay farming and tea saplings being nerfed, early money is severely cut down. On Ginger Island, you would be faced with a choice for the Golden Walnut goal. Do you try for 100 non-farming ones? Do you try balancing completing the other goals with finding as many walnuts as possible while simultaneously earning enough money for the Golden Joja Parrot to find the rest? After paying for the movie theatre, you didn't have nearly enough to cover it. For the remaining Golden Walnuts, you would've needed another movie theatre's worth of gold to make it. Something in your favor would be this run. You've had practice with the challenge now and might have some optimizations you can make. For instance, you might start befriending Robin earlier next time for the mermaid walnuts. You would also have access to the Bait Maker for a different form of early money by targeting catfish and other high-value fish, then smoking them. Smoked lava eels could make a good dent in the money needed for the remaining walnuts.
Great write-up. One thing though, you can select legacy clay farming in the options at the start. So he could still use clay farming, technically. A fully proper 1.6 without option shenanigans would be like you said. 🙂
This is very, very good video. And to be honest, I listen to it when falling asleep often, your voice is just perfect for that (consistent and no screaming) mixed with the calm setting of Stardew valley ☺️
1. Honestly, the fact that you managed to get _that much_ done in 100 days with zero farming is incredibly impressive, man. Well done. 2. Why is your sense of humor so perfect omg. *Stonks.*
I am so excited for this! I'm doing a less restrictive version right now, where I can't earn any farming XP outside ginger island. I can plant forage (tea saplings are my main source of income ATM), fruit trees, and collect truffles, but I'm not allowed to touch the pigs because petting them would give me XP.
I'm prepping myself for a similar challenge, and was pleased to find out during another file that you can get into the casino without needing to plant beets- the traveling cart sells the crop itself! Of course... you'll be waiting a long time to get all ten...
Omg the music at 26:36 made me so nostalgic! Pokemon TCG what an underrated gameboy game! Really enjoy these Stardew videos and as a new player they’re really helpful!
my cats grey and white I got him a little over a year and a half ago, and I named him Ace. He’s a bigger cat, but he’s a softie. Never swipes or hisses at people He also still does that adorable chirping sound that normally only baby cats do, but he’s kept doing it and I’m so glad cause it’s adorable! He’s got really soft hair, but when he was younger I called him fuzzy cause of his kitten fuzz, and the nickname stuck so I call him that sometimes too. Every time I come home he’s happy to see me and he’s just so adorable
thats so cute ^_^ my dogs actual legal name is fuzzy, fuzz for short. not entirely sure why i decided to call him that since hes always been more furry than fuzzy, but i was thirteen when we got him and he was a surprise gift early christmas morning ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i just wanna say how great your videos are! well scripted, well edited, and they're so helpful! and you have a great voice! calm but not boring, and clear enunciation, which i appreciate! and you pick the perfect background music and its mixed perfectly! your voiceover and bg music is always at the perfect volume levels!
If you're looking for another challenge, may I suggest: 25% profit margin, Beach Farm, enable monsters on the farm, remix the bundles and mine rewards.
i work at night and if there is a chance to sleep a little, i always play this video and fall asleep real fast. your voice is just so relaxing and sleepable
You should still be able to get truffle oil via a deconstructor I'm pretty sure, though I forget which item you wanted to throw in it for them...but pretty sure there's a non farming method without using the cart.
I’m doing my first playthrough currently (just completed grandpas evaluation) and I was listening to your videos for 99% of it 😂 also I got two lucky rings so I combined them into an iridium bond and a vampire ring for my two combined rings, they’re lit. Still haven’t gotten the skull for the cat fossil tho sadly, but anyways you’ve gained a subscriber man, keep up the good work 🥳
45:14 "I am also pretty short-sighted at the moment just trying to hit level 9 foraging because once we can make all that sashimi we have so many fish from all of our crab pots im convinced we'll probably able to finish all of the bundles immediatly But im short-sighted at the moment just trying to hit level 9 foraging because once we can make all that sashimi we have so many fish from all of our crab pots im convinced we'll probably able to finish all of the bundles immediatly" Best quote 2022-2023, Ten out of five stars.
I find it really interesting how much money you can get in spring alone, as well as the many levels you can get within the same time. Your a inspiration, keep at it!
It's mental to me how some players cannot find certain relics and others find multiple, vice versa. I only need the two golden artifacts and a scapula yet you found 2/3 of them so easily. I personally got not one but FIVE dino eggs on my first dinosaur room in skull cavern. Probably will never happen again ^^;
That's definitely one of the fun parts for me, I've never before, or since, had a run where I couldn't find a dinosaur egg. It created such an interesting ending and I absolutely love it!
I'd say you got 98/100 of your points since you got 80/100 golden walnuts! (If every 10 walnuts = 1 point). Plus you should get bonus points for hitting a secret goal you didn't even know you had (earning 1mil)!
ello!! just thought id mention for anyone else who may b doing this challenge, am pretty sure u can complete the mermaid puzzle on ginger island wif just one flute block!! u just have to put it down, tune it, then break it to put it in the next spot and repeat!!
"No one likes quartz" This is so unrealistic. Name one person on the planet who wouldnt love getting given a big hunk of quartz. You can't. We're all quartzhounds.
ok i'm 9 minutes in and i'm also super inexperienced, but i found a really good spot to get catfish for some odd reason. line up with the pole in front of haley's house, walk down all the way to the river, then walk one tile to the left. face the river again and cast there. i always get at least one catfish there on day 3. idk why or how or if i'm just somehow super fricking lucky but every time i fish in that spot i get a catfish at least once.
Maybe you know now, but the fish you catch depends on how many tiles away from shore your bobber lands. That bit near Jodi and Haley's house lets you cast further from shore than anywhere else in the village, so it gets the best catches.
I actually had an account that was a No farming account. When I used to play in my old account and just water my plants and go back to sleep. It was a reason I decided to start the account. My rules were: I can only plant what I need for Community Center bundles (if I'm doing the gold quality, I can't sell the plant) I can plant crops for missions and things like ancient seeds (because I didn't know what an ancient seed was at the time) I leveled up in Farming level due to animals. While doing the challenge I found that I had so much more fun than usual in my old save file, I eventually got to the full bundle and did a bunch of stuff. The only thing I didn't do before I lost my game file was getting to Ginger Island. (My hard drive got corrupted and I was using a friend share account, basically someone lets me play on my computer in steam. It made me lose my files)
Just yesterday, I scrounged up 2k to upgrade my watering can (it was the day after the Egg Festival so I was broke), got my copper bars, just got to Clint right before 4... Forgot my watering can. 🫏
I have a save where I got a dino floor ONCE and never again- im in year 5 on that save and have been griping not having the dino egg so THANK YOU bc i had no idea about the alternate avenue!! also wonderful vid very entertaining :)
owning farm animals actually does give farming experience! from the sdv wiki: "Petting a farm animal, milking a cow or goat, shearing a sheep, or picking up an animal product inside a coop gives 5 experience points each. (Picking up Truffles gives Foraging experience rather than Farming experience.)"
I had a friendly reminder of this video today. RNG is a strange thing 10 days into a new farm I got a Dino Egg and a Neptune’s Glaive (both in the same chest) from the mountain lake Edit: Make that 2 Dino Eggs
10:00:08 For the fair, you have the option of: Getting Cloth from a mummy (11), A silver quality purple mushroom you find in the mines (11), a life elixir (11), a Diamond (11), four irdium-quality largemouth bass, which should be easy enough at 10 fishing (4 x 8, + 5 for the category, for 37). Then you need any decent animal product, e.g. rabbit's foot, ostrich egg, wool, 9-11 points. That'll get you 90.
First off, loved the video, don't know if you'll see this comment 8 months later. This is a farming simulator, you farm monsters and ores in the mines, you farm fish at the rivers, lakes, and ocean. You farm trees and forageables off farm, and crops, animals, fish, trees, and even some ores from the quarry, all on just your farm. It'd be cool to see what you could do in 100 days of never leaving the farm. Little to no foraging, no fishing because you don't get a rod, no mining, no greenhouse or community center. Oof
Idk if someone commented about it but at around 45:25 your sentence repeats about the level nine foraging What’s interesting about this is it actually got me out of disassociating because I was like “wait… wait I heard that before!” Haha. So thanks for that!
I am having a crisis right now because I misremembered this video as a challenge where you also did the community center and tons of farming, and tried to replicate it like that after I couldn’t find this video again. I spent 30 hours trying to do it but could never get level ten fishing in Spring. And now I randomly see this video again and I just… why have I done this to myself?
This video was really really fun to watch! I think that it’s incredible to achieve all that without farming, and… the walnut room? I think that would’ve pretty difficult in the timeframe you had even if you did have farming. But getting that skeletal hand towards the end was pretty cool, and those two lucky rings from skull cavern was absolutely insane. Also, congrats on getting your channel back!
I really appreciate the self-awareness that it was too early to buy joja. 👍 I think boiler room and vault are always worth doing for ease and rewards, respectively.
Alright I loved this because I really like fishing but don’t care all that much about farming and community center in the game. To know that I can continue playing this way and still unlock a lot of what makes the game fun is really cool! Instant sub and great video:)
Been watching and listening to this while working on dipping my gaming channel toes into the 100 days of Stardew family. This gives me two future ideas. Replicating this challenge in my own way, and doing the opposite. A farm focused challenge using the Riverland farm because it's the worst one for it. 😂
This would be really interesting as a re-do with the 1.6 update: tree sapling changes, Fish Smoker, Dehydrator would all change your main money-making strategies a ton.
Artifacts, imo, should have a higher drop rate and a system that ensures they can't repeat immediately. So like you can't dig up the last 2 or 3 from that areas possible artifacts. Idk but it doesn't feel rewarding. Just frustrating until the luck works out
Dat 48000... I think we went past the 100 mark by a tiiiny bit. Kidding, your videos are teaching me a lot about this game. Makes me want to play it again. Thanks.

Omg the music at 26:36 made me so nostalgic! Pokemon TCG what an underrated gameboy game! Really enjoy these Stardew videos and as a new player they’re really helpful!
With some of the new 1.6 items, it would be fun to see this type of challenge done again!
my cats grey and white
I got him a little over a year and a half ago, and I named him Ace. He’s a bigger cat, but he’s a softie. Never swipes or hisses at people
He also still does that adorable chirping sound that normally only baby cats do, but he’s kept doing it and I’m so glad cause it’s adorable!
The 2 luck rings is so relatable. Sometime I get so weirdly lucky with stuff, to the point that it makes the extra ones useless.
The completely casual "Country girls can make do 😔" got me good
i work at night and if there is a chance to sleep a little, i always play this video and fall asleep real fast. your voice is just so relaxing and sleepable
Thanks for all the hard work that goes into these runs, much love ❤
I'M a complete SV noob. I don't know hell what to do. This would be impossible for me. Very entertaining!
"Poxial eat your heart out" ahahahahahahahaha the laugh I needed this morning.
Who doesn’t love a good episode of Panning. With. Poxial. ?
Wow this channel is extraordinary! So exiting and keeps pulling me in I watched the whole thing and never lost interest!
I find it really interesting how much money you can get in spring alone, as well as the many levels you can get within the same time. Your a inspiration, keep at it!
It's mental to me how some players cannot find certain relics and others find multiple, vice versa. I only need the two golden artifacts and a scapula yet you found 2/3 of them so easily. I personally got not one but FIVE dino eggs on my first dinosaur room in skull cavern. Probably will never happen again ^^;
Speed runners got me into using 75% zoom and watching salmences videos got me back into 100% thanks
Wow! I haven't done this WITH farming and you've done it WITHOUT farming Just WOW!
ok i'm 9 minutes in and i'm also super inexperienced, but i found a really good spot to get catfish for some odd reason. line up with the pole in front of haley's house, walk down all the way to the river, then walk one tile to the left. face the river again and cast there. i always get at least one catfish there on day 3. idk why or how or if i'm just somehow super fricking lucky but every time i fish in that spot i get a catfish at least once.
Maybe you know now, but the fish you catch depends on how many tiles away from shore your bobber lands.
That bit near Jodi and Haley's house lets you cast further from shore than anywhere else in the village, so it gets the best catches.
Correction on Haley gifts: She "Likes" Daffodils, she does NOT "Love" them.
I actually had an account that was a No farming account. When I used to play in my old account and just water my plants and go back to sleep. It was a reason I decided to start the account.
My rules were:
I can only plant what I need for Community Center bundles (if I'm doing the gold quality, I can't sell the plant)
I can plant crops for missions and things like ancient seeds (because I didn't know what an ancient seed was at the time)
I leveled up in Farming level due to animals.
"But no one likes quartz i guess"
Abigail eats quartz for breakfast
that 10 heart with haley moment was absolute cinema
“Poxial, eat your heart out” made me cackle! Thanks for the great video ehe
I have sprinted to clint's in the exact same way as you, finally proud that I didn't miscount my bars, and I FORGOR I NEEDED GOLD.
The music choices in this video are top tier. Very cozy vibes, happy the algorithm brought me here.
LET’S GOOO I’m so happy your account is back! Such a cool vid concept 🎉
I love 100 days of stardew without an important game mechanic videos, love this one :)
owning farm animals actually does give farming experience! from the sdv wiki: "Petting a farm animal, milking a cow or goat, shearing a sheep, or picking up an animal product inside a coop gives 5 experience points each. (Picking up Truffles gives Foraging experience rather than Farming experience.)"
This is incredibly impressive
You have made roughly 20x the progress in spring alone that i have made in an entire year
I had a friendly reminder of this video today. RNG is a strange thing
10 days into a new farm I got a Dino Egg and a Neptune’s Glaive (both in the same chest) from the mountain lake
Edit: Make that 2 Dino Eggs
10:00:08 For the fair, you have the option of:
Getting Cloth from a mummy (11), A silver quality purple mushroom you find in the mines (11), a life elixir (11), a Diamond (11), four irdium-quality largemouth bass, which should be easy enough at 10 fishing (4 x 8, + 5 for the category, for 37).
Then you need any decent animal product, e.g. rabbit's foot, ostrich egg, wool, 9-11 points. That'll get you 90.
I don't think I would ever have enough self discipline to do this challenge myself. Great video 👍
It was definitely tough to get through, but Imm glad I was using mechanics I’ve never used before
First off, loved the video, don't know if you'll see this comment 8 months later.
Oof
The Poxial shadeee omg I can't 💀💀
i love the crab pots its like free money to me. dont ask about the valley's aquatic ecosystem.
day 1 you failed the challenge: you farmed clay.
Indeed
Idk if someone commented about it but at around 45:25 your sentence repeats about the level nine foraging What’s interesting about this is it actually got me out of disassociating because I was like “wait… wait I heard that before!” Haha. So thanks for that!
How fitting that your first artifact was an anchor, both because fishing will be super important and because you're on the Riverland Farm!
I can’t believe you used music from the Pokémon Trading Card Gameboy Color game! That soundtrack is such a banger! 😍😍😍😍
"first thing i'm doing is farming--"
MISSION FAILED, WE'LL GET 'EM NEXT TIME
I am having a crisis right now because I misremembered this video as a challenge where you also did the community center and tons of farming, and tried to replicate it like that after I couldn’t find this video again. I spent 30 hours trying to do it but could never get level ten fishing in Spring. And now I randomly see this video again and I just… why have I done this to myself?
idk if you've ever made one, but a video of how you sort chests would be fun :3 my chests are always a mess and idk a better way to sort it T_T
That’s a great idea! I could have a lot of fun with that
Well done! I was so impressed i lost the home row twice trying to type this.
Also, congrats on getting your channel back!
oh yeah if you didn't know, you can use the gilded shorts (putting a staircase in the pants slot) for the short shenanigans..
The Stardew community can be so creative (this video being a good example).
I really appreciate the self-awareness that it was too early to buy joja. 👍 I think boiler room and vault are always worth doing for ease and rewards, respectively.
I am excited to watch more of your videos, the Low% video got me hooked. Thanks for making these!
I LOVE that I recognized the music from being caves or other spooky areas with the PS1 game Croc! That's so cool! 😊
Alright I loved this because I really like fishing but don’t care all that much about farming and community center in the game. To know that I can continue playing this way and still unlock a lot of what makes the game fun is really cool! Instant sub and great video:)
3:08 I known this doesn’t count, but he almost immediately says, “I’m going to start farming for fiber”😂
Been watching and listening to this while working on dipping my gaming channel toes into the 100 days of Stardew family.
This gives me two future ideas. Replicating this challenge in my own way, and doing the opposite. A farm focused challenge using the Riverland farm because it's the worst one for it. 😂
I don't know how to express the special feeling that is seeing Stardew Valley gameplay with Animal Crossing music playing in the background :D
This would be really interesting as a re-do with the 1.6 update: tree sapling changes, Fish Smoker, Dehydrator would all change your main money-making strategies a ton.
1:06:51 "WHAT" Absolutely love it
you got the last two artifacts i needed for the museum (which took me THREE in-game years) in under 50 days and it makes me so envious 😭
Artifacts, imo, should have a higher drop rate and a system that ensures they can't repeat immediately. So like you can't dig up the last 2 or 3 from that areas possible artifacts. Idk but it doesn't feel rewarding. Just frustrating until the luck works out
1:06:44 the noises you made after getting the two luck rings kill me every rewatch
Going to try this myself
Dat 48000... I think we went past the 100 mark by a tiiiny bit.
Kidding, your videos are teaching me a lot about this game. Makes me want to play it again. Thanks.
