Let's be honest - when you're fighting someone who knows how to think creatively, being trapped with him in a hardware store is nothing short of a nightmare scenario.
Thats it who is well experienced in killing people too bro🔥
And they were the ones that chose the location not him.

@@Dusty-69420 Sun Tzu also said _“Know thy enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles, you will never be defeated.”_ - These guys obviously didnt know their enemy.
The fact that he kills like 15 Spetsnaz level trained Russian gangsters and doesn’t shoot a single one of them makes this in my opinion the most badass movie sequence ever
He shot the last guy in the end
Also this isnt surprising McCall is a master of gorilla warfare and has been shown to be able to use this skill to take down alot of paramilitary forces easily even in the 2nd movie McCall outsmarted and killed CIA paramilitary guys who he used to work with so they're supposedly as well trained as he is capable of doing this same thing
@@John-qo3kl so basically McCall easily whipped out CIA paramilitary officer level trained guys? actually insane hes out here killing CIA special activities center soilders who are just as good as he is McCall could probably beat any military group

That cold stare he gives while someone’s dying in front of him is crazy 🔥🔥🔥

I was thinking the same thing there are no emotions there just a blank stare scary!
Like gus fring with the box cutter scene this is way up there with that 💯💯
He gives no Fs. He warned Teddy beforehand to leave well enough alone and tell his boss to shut everything down and he chose not to listen.
A kind of high-function austism with mild sociopathic tendencies. Not a comon thing by any means, but definitely something that's screened for in certain circles to find people for certain jobs.
With the music, the scene is epic. Without the music, the scene would be suspenseful as hell.

It was already over before it even began
No they didn't. Lol
This subtle thing plays a big role in breaking someone. Instead of things like "i'm not afraid of you", the message that "i'm not here with you, _you_ are locked in here with me" is far more effective.
"You don't seem to realize, I'm not locked in here with you... YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME!"
That quote gave me chills
A barbed wire noose is a horror in its own right 😖

This little bit right here is one of the fucking coldest Denzel moments 🥶
Staring the guy down, directly in his eyes, while he struggles and swings life away
Especially considering he hanged him with razor wire. Pretty horrible way to go.
He’s a freak that likes to watch things bleed, shows his real side, he probably low-key enjoys it, kind of excepts and dislikes it, which is why his message is “You are what you want to be!” to Alina.

That same guy, pays to be put in movies. He was Andrew Tate before Andrew Tate. He was caught up later on because his CBD company failed

The hardware store fight scene exemplifies the art of blending practical environments with high-octane action. It's not just a thrilling moment; it's a visual narrative that showcases the character's resourcefulness and determination in a unique way.
I always like how they tied in MAC helping to train the security guard Ralphie earlier in the film. Then he ends up using all those skills in their final scene to help everyone.
Proofreading is an art
That last guy down was one tough dude… multiple stab wounds and he kept on fighting
Right when I first saw this movie i was like how many??‽
Yeah that dude was tough I think he was former Russian special forces.
He got stabbed 5 times including the neck, I was yelling at my TV "Bullshit, you're dead!"
that was that adrenaline, we know it's all acting and make believe, but that's what happens when that adrenaline start pumping
Stab wounds don't take down targets. I've treated guys who have been stabbed upwards of 20 times who made it, though they usually needed a colostomy bag afterwards...
Denzel Washington is like the action oriented version of Morgan Freeman at this point.

Marton Csokas played the best villain. In Equalizer, he was almost as good as Joe Pesci in Casino, without doubt the most chilling gangster portrayal of all time.

It’s like the “john wick” series. He gets to zap them in places like his house of the night club one at a time. The unspoken rule. “You shall go at the good guy one at a time and shall only proceed when the guy directly in line in front of you has been dispatched”.
But if you clump together all you need is a 30 round mag to take you all out at once. They didn’t know he wasn’t using Gus though.
Their target is one guy. So it'd make sense to split up in a big place.
This is one of the greatest scenes ever! When the lights go out and the doors lock...I'm not trapped in here with you you're trapped in here with ME!
It's like home alone but the bad guys don't come out alive they come out in a body bag literally 🤣🤣🤣
Or, since he uses the stuff he has to hand in the store to set his traps, it's Macgyver the 18+ version.
McCallister was never the same after it happened the fourth time...
It's when he snapped and became, Mr McCall.
No one ever sees the Wet Bandits, anymore... No one ever will. lol.
Knowing McCall's background and mindset, we was probably planning all these traps just as a mental exercise during his workdays....
The way Mac just drills through the head of that guy. After he had just been seen. The fear the other guy has as he turns to see that. And the way Mac just calmly puts the drill nack and walks away into the darkness. Such a good moment.
The tough guy at the end who puts up a fight. That actor's name is Tait Fletcher, and around 2016 there was this guy who went to my gym in Chicago who looked so much like him, I almost just walked up and asked, lol. He had the bald head and huge beard, but no waxed mustache. He was maybe 6'2, and one arm was a sleeve of tattoos. Nice guy who said hi whenever I saw him, though we never spoke beyond that. Maybe I shoulda asked him!!
The guy getting hanged by barbed wire is that pompous "alpha male" shitlord Dan Bilzerian. He paid to be in this movie lol. Fun fact he also paid to be in Lone Survivor because he's a "vet" even though he failed out of Navy SEAL training a few weeks in, but the director told him to get fucked 🤣
The fact that he locked them in the store already tells you he is about to get worst and medieval on them.
Best part is Denzel yelling "it's equalising time!" And kicking ass!
The barbed wire noose is just so brutal
Years later still haven't forgotten this scene!
That guy with the bald head and crazy moustache is in alot of action movies, he's literally impossible to miss. I think he's been killed twice in John Wick now. He was killed in the club in the first john wick, and I think I saw him in the 4th. probably a skilled stuntman
He is a retired professional ufc fighter
Wasnt he in jurassic world and got killed by a raptor.
@@weed_lover267oh wow i didn't know that. whats his name?

Denzel is absolutely perfect for this roll. He nailed the balance between compassion for people who were prey and ruthlessness towards the predators. The filming of the fight scenes is also amazing. Denzel was in his late 50s when the first movie was made. With his acting and action skill, and the director's filming and editing techniques, the fights looked real and raw. I believed Robert was capable of all this and more.
Can't imagine, what if mccall and john wick work together.
One single word. Unstoppable
I will say he will be more fitting teaming up with Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell better, they are both very skilled in stealth

You couldnt have picked a worse spot to pick a fight with him. A large hardware store with infinite products and weapons around you you'll never see coming. And people need to realize it's much darker than they realize in the store than what the movie portrays. So essentially you're fighting a ghost or a home owner, they know the ins and outs. I love this movie I remembered my emotions being high after this wanting a stop watch lmao
Teddy thought just because he had numbers and firearms that would have been enough for him to get the W. Boy was he wrong. He may have been skilled but he was up against someone on a different level and chose to challenge him on HIS playground. His overconfidence was his downfall.
First half of the scene: slipping inch perfect and silently from victim to victim. Second half: wrestling and grunting without a chance of intervention.
Man, Home Alone 4 looks intense.
Still remember being 14 watching this in the theater, good times
Yeah
I love this part of the Movie McCall is like a Punisher or a John Rambo
The tone is set incredibly well in this section of the movie. Anxiety, tension and unease are sown in but not once did you worry about Denzel because he was in control from the jump. Sure he got shot and it might’ve slowed him down for a minute or two but that was it.
But the part where the guy that got strung up by that Barbed wire was brutal. Denzel never blinked as he watched that dude choke on his own blood slowly and painfully. If that’s not vicious, idk what is.
Another example of 'I'm not locked in here with you, you're locked in here with me' situation.

Mc Call knows what's were & were he is at all times. The bad guys don't. Classic strategy. Do not keep your enemy out,let him in.
This scene had to be inspired by the Greek myth of Theseus vs the Minotaur where the moral is how human intellect trumps bestial brawn with a maze to boot. Nicolai being the overgrown school bully he is, is handicapped by sociopathy and relies solely on brute force and intimidation that dictates his half-assed strategies (or lack thereof), while Mccall outwits him due to superior healthy logic and being a few steps ahead before "nailing" him into a state of helplessness before the fatality.
