As he's gotten older, he's gained a real gravitas wherein some of his most compelling scenes have very little dialog and sometimes very little action. His face, eyes, and mere presence are enough to convey everything the audience needs to know.

    • @WaterbuffelNL
      @WaterbuffelNL Місяць тому

      What? No? First of all giving the same answer a third time in a row will not be a distraction for you. Secondly it definitely doesn't distract you enough to make something like that hurt less. I think you're confused with something else.
      When people need to help another by hurting them briefly (for example, setting an arm that got twisted) they tend to say that they do it on the count of 3. They only count to 1 and then set the arm. This is because fear and the instinct to pull away builds up really fast and can mess up the help. It doesn't make it hurt less, it only counters the buildup of fear and your heart rate.
      Either way, I can promise you that the last guy definitely thought of the pain and was not distracted at all.

    My favorite scene in the movie. He calmly informs them that they messed up, that hurting someone who couldn't adequately resist was wrong. The leader walks over to the door and locks it thinking he's trapped Robert in with them, unaware that he's trapped himself and his bros in with Robert. Then, calmly, Robert inflicts pain. He seems to start to lose his calm when he grabs Junior by the head, but regains it to, once again calmly, snap his fingers. Love it.
