I work at guitar center and we just got these and me and my coworkers love messing with it. We had one coworker drape it over his shoulder and we played riffs on him as he walked by and wound up selling a few cause of how much fun we had with it. Weirdly it’s more fun than a lot of other stuff coming into the store
@@Lance514 eh, not really. The keys feel like a bunch of space bars and the speakers aren’t great. Yamaha or Casio make better stand alone keys with better sounds and speakers. If your trying to get a midi keyboard for usb go arturia

Seriously? Then it's a toy. I was actually interested until I saw this. Plus the clackety sounds of the keys would get on my nerves. Great concept though.
I know that in this piano the keyboard is lound like plastic keys hitting sound. But what im really want to know is ifi plug in the headphones that no one else will be hearing what im playing at that currect piano because if yes it's what im looking for with learning. My envirment dont allow me to make much noise for long period of time so i would like to buy something like that or some alternative if you have any in mind. If i have to mention anything more that would be portability.
I could probably get past the shallow sharp/flat keys (it has to fold up after all) and the clackety keys (turn up the volume or use headphones) and the limited display and controls (hey, it’s $99). But I can’t get past the fact that there’s no velocity. Add velocity sensitivity, then lose some of the goofy sounds and replace them w/ a couple of nice pianos, e-pianos, clavs, strings, vibes, etc. OR just ditch everything and tell people it’s a MIDI controller and to plug it into their phone or tablet. But you need velocity control.
İ saw this piano today and i found myself thinking about whether you did a video about it or not. And bammm few hours later you were at my main screen on youtube 😱😱😱 algorithms read our minds , not only listening us 🧐🧐
it has midi support + sustain pedal, is sad to not have the touch response, but anyways you just need few pc tools to make it sound good... im going to get one! nice video!
i got this because it said it can be used as a midi too. How do i get it to work in ableton? it shows under midi ports, but doesnt seem to be working. I'll have to return if this wont work
You should try the Arabic oud it's very cool music tool and it is the first guitar in the world you can see it is the old version of guitar excuse my English and thank you.
Good things: 1. A portable piano that is NOT a roll of toilet paper and actually has keys. 2. The piano sound is okay enough not to make my ears bleed. 3. Has a sustain pedal. 4. The price is more or less reasonable. Too bad retailers will crank it up to 11. Bad things: 1. No velocity. For something that is advertised as a piano\MIDI-controller, that is crucial. 2. Looks EXTREMELY fragile and unreliable. Overall, I'd give it a solid 9 out of 10 if it had velocity. But without it this thing is more of a toy or a cool looking home gig gimmick than a serious instrument. Will do nicely as a fancy present for your keyboard playing friend though.
As interesting as this looks, I could never play that properly. The black keys are way too low to feel well and the keys in general dont go down far enough when pressed. This keyboard actually confuses me slightly because it seems like the market they are going for isn't the type that would be using it professionally, which begs the question of who would actually use it. A music producer/home studio would most likely decide on a smaller midi controller if they are just using it with a DAW as many input instruments don't need more than a couple octaves. Someone starting out with keyboard should never use this as they will learn bad technique when playing. Someone getting it for fun/a gimmick would probably not want to spend so much. Love the videos as usual but I'm honestly at a loss fot the market of this. If the keys were full size and height then I can see the application for 88 keys as a portable option for piano input, but these type of keys aren't very good for 2 hand playing on piano arrangements.
I Think it can be used as travel piano. You go for holiday to the mountain and you want to compose some music or just play, I think it can be quite enjoyable.
I think your looking too deeply on it. Beginners, children, travelling, people with no space in house/apartment/bedroom and fun! people who never tried piano before and want some fun at a cheap price. The piano player who already has everything! anyway, just ordered for kids for xmas, they saw it and were instantly hyped for it! I hope it leads them to take music making seriously in future.
@@jazzspecialist99 how much is it? If they show an interest and genuinely want to learn how to play properly it would be best to get even a cheap keyboard as well as the height of the keys on this are nothing like on a normal keyboard. If they spend too long practicing just on this they will find it quite difficult to play properly especially if they go outside the key of C
@@mattmoves5920 yeah I can definitely see the appeal as a fun little gimmick but the black Keys are very very low and barely raised above the white ones. I noticed he never played outside the key of C so I would be interested to know what it's like to play if you are using any of the sharps and flats. Again I'm not hating on the product per se but for the same price as this you could probably get a fairly decent 61-key keyboard which would have many more features and be much better to play. I would honestly question how many people are short of an extra foot or two of space if they want to play songs regularly for fun.
@@tumainitiger4655 I completely agree with you, just purchase an electronic 61 key Yamaha for 50 bucks or something, the price and quality come off cheaply made for the price of this folding keyboard.
From what I know, the factory and patent holders for the keyboard that worked with Blackstar had released it in China earlier in the year and it ended up on the grey market, but this one is the official release designed for sale in Europe, America, and other parts of the globe. Hope that clears it up!
The 1980's is here, and it wants its cheesy synth sounds back. Seriously, it has been nearly forty years since the launch of the Kurzweil K250. There's no reason in the world for an instrument with sampled sounds to be this timbrally awful out of the box.
Pretty sure it's the first compact one, there's the Piano Phoenix which is foldable but pretty big.
