This piano is not only for a child, but for adults as well. I had to give up piano a long, long time due ago because I didn’t have a piano to learn and practice on. The Carry On piano gives me the opportunity to learn and play piano again. For $99, especially the 88 key piano, that’s a steal. I bought mine from Guitar Center and I am amazed. I take the piano to work so that I can practice during lunch hour. Also I wanted to see if I will commit before spending a lot of money for an upgradable piano.

I really liked your review. None of the usual piano snobbery that you get from a lot of the concert grand pianist crowd. I think you did a great job of highlighting strengths and weaknesses. And it really does sound like it has a very decent organ.

I liked your review because you understand its purpose. Too many people were complaining about its quality but it's portable and cheap... they compare this thing to a $1,000+ digital piano.

For players with focal dystonia this is a miracle. I usually dont have much trouble with my left index anymore unless I'm playing my piano for over 4 hours. This could offer alot of stress free playing

I appreciate your balanced, respectful review. You don't rate this based on what it is not, but what it is. Perhaps it isn't the greatest sounding digital piano, but yeah, it's a bunch of fun. And for $99! That's a steal! Thanks!

Seems to me this is exponentially better than a rollup piano. I've been thinking about something I could take when I travel and maybe this is it. Thanks as always Chuck...

I am looking for a folding piano for my travel and think this one is a good candidate. I checked other reviews of this piano and found your review is most informative and helpful. Thank you!
I also would like to hear your review of Finger Dance Folding Electric Piano Keyboard.

My dog and cat food bill for the month is over $99!! This is a bargain especially for a beginner. It would also make a great gift. The bird sounds were really very cool 😎 . That’s a whole lot for under $100 bucks.
Thanks Chuck👍 great video ( as usual )
Have a Happy and Healthy holiday.!
    Best channel on UA-cam ❤️🙏

I am considering this piano. I was looking for a portable piano 88 key piano that will sound like a grand piano. I bought the Audster 49-Key electronic keyboard this weekend. It is a decent keyboard with different voices and effects. But the piano voice doesn’t sound like a grand or an uptight piano. By discovering the Blackstar yesterday after googling and watching UA-cam and TikTok videos, I realized I wasted my money on the Audster. Now I want this foldable piano. I am not a professional musician, I like to do this for fun and relaxation. Mozart Rondo Turca, Brahms Lullaby and Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Ode to Joy are the first I want to learn.

Thank you for your review. I would have bought it, but I didn't like the tapping sound. I just bought the Veetop 88 fold up digital, which costs approximately $214.88 approx £179.00, but you can only fold it in half. So that I can practice my lessons on holiday able to use bluetooth on laptop. The concept in a very good idea and even Sergei Rachmaninoff had a wooden keyboard, he used to practice on while he was on tours. You have to choose between portabiltiy and weight. There are other portable pianos may get you better sound, but they are very heavy to travel with.

I wish one of the bigger manufacturers come up with a quality foldable 88 weighted keys keyboard. Imagine something that can pack into a carry on luggage. I ask every year at NAMM. Musicians would line up for that.

I thought I'd get one for my one month holiday abroad, so at least I could keep my playing going. Result: never found anywhere to position it at the right height without neck and arm strain, and the whole process was so unfamiliar compared with my usual keyboard setup that I hardly used it. Sound was terrible unless I connected it to my ipad, and even then you need headphones which I found tiresome. I got a touch sensitive one, but really I'd say don't even think about getting one for home use instead of getting even the oldest second hand touch sensitive Yamaha keyboard and stand package from ebay for the same price.

I bought a Yamaha P125 and attempting to learn piano. I am starting to travel around for my work and unable to practice much. I thought something portable like this folding piano would be perfect for the traveler for practice away from my P125. However, with the key’s response and length there of, would it be more of a detriment to my practice ( key feel and so forth) then it would be of a benefit? Any other people have some comments on this?

While a great concept, this is not for serious musicians - its more for seeing if your child is into piano, or for those looking to have this unique piano.

Awesome Review Chuck! Quick question, what are some good small speakers that can be used as a live stage monitors for a keyboard? Something like the Iloud speakers but with a Mic input too would be nice. Thank you!

I don't need the sounds and rythms. I just want an affordable and portable piano. Period. Can you suggest one? I am old (80) and want a small piano to remember all the pieces I played. Thank you

    • @matthewgaines10
      @matthewgaines10 3 роки тому +1

Portable - Subjective. Depends on what you consider portable. Does it have to have 88 keys? 61 keys is definitely more portable but may not make you happy. I have an 88 key portable stage piano and it weighs 26 lbs but it's still large. And there are trades you often make with portability (quality, key weight, sound)
Affordable - Again, subjective. Affordable for me is $1,400. I can afford more but that's where I prefer to stop paying for. Some people think affordable is at $1,000, $500, $250, and $100. Others even less. Affordable is relative.
If you're not buying an acoustic piano, sounds and rhythms is what you're likely going to get. Digital pianos tend to have a minimum feature set. Just don't use what you don't need.
You asked a question no one could answer for you without more information. What is your price and must haves? You're going to get stuff you don't need because it's unavoidable without spending more for an accoustic piano. Without any useful addition information, Casio CT-S200.
