    Cholesterol is a naturally occurring substance made by the liver and required by the body for the proper function of cells, nerves and hormones. Normally, cholesterol is kept in balance. But, the standard western diet typically contains a large number of hydrogenated fats and refined carbohydrates, which can lead to an imbalance.
    In this episode of Ancient Medicine Today, I’ll share exactly what cholesterol is, foods to eat to support balanced cholesterol as well as foods to avoid and essential oils, supplements and natural remedies to help keep your cholesterol levels in check. Watch to learn more.

    June 21, 2023, 8:00 a.m. Central. The landmark moment I discovered your channel after my doctor prescribed Lipitor. "You don't want to die of a heart attack, do you?" My doctor is a long-time university professor. I agreed to a low dosage, bothered by the scary side effects. Dr. Axe, *you* should be the guest speaker in all these medical schools. Today am going to my health food store to pick up everything you mentioned. Your viewers' comments, also encouraging.

    Hey doctor really enjoyed this video tonight.. I'm a sixty four year old lady in the UK who weighed 16stone and had very high cholesterol ie 6.8 and now after losing weight, nearly two stone my cholesterol has come down to 5.2, my doctor is amazed at how I've managed to do it. And that is no bread, no crisps, no cakes or pastries, no processed meats, no ready made meals, next to no meat only chicken with no skin... Just tons of vegs, salads, porridge in the morning with dried fruits, almond or cashew nut milk, houmous with ryvitas for lunch or veg soup, then chicken and vegs or salads In The evening, feel great.. Thanks paula

      You should never put any essential oils on your skin or hair as it can burn your skin and it can break you hair off. I couldn’t understand why my😅 hair was breaking off it was due to me rubbing it on my hair. They should always be mixed in a carrier oil 😩

    • @msudawgma
      @msudawgma 3 місяці тому

      @teresaspensley5640 , consider the essential oils also; are they truly 100% pure? Young Living is the only one I know of that's 100% pure. I put a little Rosemary in my hand, rub together, and run it through my hair. It was helped keep the grays back.

    Well, have you heard of skinny fat.? I’m super skinny but my total cholesterol was 238 and ldl was 131 four months ago. By cutting down the amount of red meats from my diet, adding oatmeal, salmon, krill oil, more vegetables daily and walking 30 mins 3or more times a week, my cholesterol is now at 181 and LDL 93. My goal is to have the total below 150 and LDL below 70 by my next annual check up.

    Hey Josh, great to see you again. I've followed you for years and have your books. Now that I have survived Covid after a 2 year struggle, I just had my blood checked cuz I am ready to get back to my life and need to rebuild what was lost. My LDL is 190 and my HDL is 5.00. Surprised due to thought I was eating healthy. Thank you for the video and information, for I choose to lower my cholesterol safely and thoroughly. While I do a dry sauna, Red Light Therapy, Chiropractic care, drink lots of water/tea/mushroom coffee and eat fish and Micro greens, I look to increase the consistency along with adding a stretch class 5x/week along with working my way back to walking three miles a day! Mentally, I am so looking forward to getting back what I feel I lost.

I'm going to try a high fibre diet for 3 months before getting checked again. It looks genetic, and I probably would need to get on a statin but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the change in diet brings down those figures.

    CoQ10 and high quality fish oil are definitely great for cardiovascular health, but I'm surprised you skipped niacin (B3) because it is perhaps the most effective natural vitamin for treating cholesterol issues. I've been taking all 3 of these supplements for years and the best part is that the ubiquinol (CoQ10) counteracts the possible side effects of the niacin. I haven't had any heart issues or any health issues at all since I began this regimen. I also take a high quality all natural multivitamin, Ester C and Vitamin D3. These 6 supplements with a reasonably well balanced diet have kept me healthy and off of all medications, I will take them for the rest of my life.

      Ash 1749 yes take raw garlic and swallow it like a pill. It helps clear out plaque build up in the arteries

      Be careful with raw garlic, it maybe too strong and toxic for the human body depending on the person......definitely recommend cooked garlic instead

      You right about raw garlic.. it lower my cholesterol, but gave me lots of problem with my stomach.
      Cooked garlic has no benefit same with swallowing whole garlic.. the big benefit when is raw & crashed...

      Statins? Yeah, miniscule upside in a handful of cases and massive downsides for just about everyone taking it. Don't let the medical establishment sell you on that garbage...because they have persuaded way too many people to sign up for life.

    Thank you for this video. I just had blood work and my total number is at 300. My ratio is optimal because I have a lot of HDL, but my Dr. is on me about a statin. I don't want to take them. I'm going to try some of these recommendation to see if I can get number lowered without the drug. Thank you, again for staying on top of recent research.
