I lowered my cholesterol from 294 to 187 in three months by going to a whole food plant based diet and riding bicycle every day and I got off my blood pressure med.
That's wonderful!! Did you eat nuts and seeds, bread, oatmeal?
That is amazing!! Thank you for sharing!
Cut out sugar, whites and carbs, exercise and reduced stress, my BP and triglycerides came back to normal in 3 months. Lost 10 lbs! Cook with olive oil and a lifestyle changed helps.😊
I heard cooking with olive oil is bad...use grape seed oil...what you think about that?
@@Back4WhatsMines Olive Oil in cooking is fine unless high heat is applied.
@@crcurran ok...thanks Chris👍
@@crcurran but what's high temp for you? I mostly cook in the 4/5 level out of 10 on my stove. Is that high?

Be careful with bottled oils. Oxidation can do a lot of harm.
Doctors like to pump us with medication. Thankful we have doctor like you that help us heal our body naturally 🙏 ❤
June 21, 2023, 8:00 a.m. Central. The landmark moment I discovered your channel after my doctor prescribed Lipitor. "You don't want to die of a heart attack, do you?" My doctor is a long-time university professor. I agreed to a low dosage, bothered by the scary side effects. Dr. Axe, *you* should be the guest speaker in all these medical schools. Today am going to my health food store to pick up everything you mentioned. Your viewers' comments, also encouraging.
Can menopause peri menopause cause cholesterol issues
Hey doctor really enjoyed this video tonight.. I'm a sixty four year old lady in the UK who weighed 16stone and had very high cholesterol ie 6.8 and now after losing weight, nearly two stone my cholesterol has come down to 5.2, my doctor is amazed at how I've managed to do it. And that is no bread, no crisps, no cakes or pastries, no processed meats, no ready made meals, next to no meat only chicken with no skin... Just tons of vegs, salads, porridge in the morning with dried fruits, almond or cashew nut milk, houmous with ryvitas for lunch or veg soup, then chicken and vegs or salads In The evening, feel great.. Thanks paula
How are you after 2yrs?
@@brothercaleb Mine is 6.8 now
What chicken parts you ate
You should never put any essential oils on your skin or hair as it can burn your skin and it can break you hair off. I couldn’t understand why my😅 hair was breaking off it was due to me rubbing it on my hair. They should always be mixed in a carrier oil 😩
@teresaspensley5640 , consider the essential oils also; are they truly 100% pure? Young Living is the only one I know of that's 100% pure. I put a little Rosemary in my hand, rub together, and run it through my hair. It was helped keep the grays back.
Well, have you heard of skinny fat.? I’m super skinny but my total cholesterol was 238 and ldl was 131 four months ago. By cutting down the amount of red meats from my diet, adding oatmeal, salmon, krill oil, more vegetables daily and walking 30 mins 3or more times a week, my cholesterol is now at 181 and LDL 93. My goal is to have the total below 150 and LDL below 70 by my next annual check up.
Hey, same here. I’m starting to exercise and eat better. But I’m having gallbladder issues and getting it removed in two weeks… wondering if it’s related🤷🏻♀️
Interesting History. How you LDL is doing today? Forgot to ask What age?🙌
Same here. When I tell people my cholesterol is high, first thing they say is but you’re slim.
My mom used red yeast rice And was too scared to take the drugs they prescribed her to lower her cholesterol so she didn’t tell the doctors that she didn’t use them she only used the red yeast rice and she lowered it dramatically
That's amazing
Red yeast rice= Statin(Dr J.Mercola)
@@priyamalhotra3794 What does that statement mean?
Thank you for this information. My doctor prescribed medication , which immediately after taking ONE pill caused side effects. So, I threw the pills away, no more!

Thanks! I had to come back for a refresher. Chlorestol has gone up and my doctor wants to put me on meds. I have fixed this before with exercise and lifestyle changes. I'm already a vegetarian so I know I can do this.

I just got some test results back for a minor lowering in liver function and small increase in LDL - Not worth retesting according to the doc, but it totally makes sense now why both are affected! I'm not a drinker whatsoever, so it got me confused! This guy is the best! Thanks for sharing 😊

Hey Josh, great to see you again. I've followed you for years and have your books. Now that I have survived Covid after a 2 year struggle, I just had my blood checked cuz I am ready to get back to my life and need to rebuild what was lost. My LDL is 190 and my HDL is 5.00. Surprised due to thought I was eating healthy. Thank you for the video and information, for I choose to lower my cholesterol safely and thoroughly. While I do a dry sauna, Red Light Therapy, Chiropractic care, drink lots of water/tea/mushroom coffee and eat fish and Micro greens, I look to increase the consistency along with adding a stretch class 5x/week along with working my way back to walking three miles a day! Mentally, I am so looking forward to getting back what I feel I lost.
Bless you!
Thanks 4 ur info

Just started my diet to lower cholesterol. Great info!
Me too! 🤞🏻
Thank you can you talk more about high cholesterol in kids? My son is not obese. But high cholesterol. I love this and this is very informative
Thank you! For sharing this info
Thank you Dr Axe. Going to follow your advice .
A fig, the same as dr. Axe said stay away from process foods. I cooked every thing myself, I learned what was process by reading all labels. When I go out to eat at a restaurant I would order broil or bake fish or chicken, (I do not eat red meat and very little seafood and chicken). Do your research... so you will eat healthy as well. Good luck!
Thank you so much I just took my first Statin 💊.... It's definitely going to be the last one!!! They've been treating us like lab rats for way to long. I'm going to change my diet🥦🍎🥗🍌...
Thank you again 😇
Thank you very much for this useful presentation.
Great information. Thanks.
Great video! You explained the natural ways to lower cholesterol really well. As a qualified Nutritionist, I completely agree that the best way to lower cholesterol is by changing your diet and including the right foods that help lower ldl levels.
Thank you, the statins are causing pain. I’m going to try this.
You are the best! Thanks for sharing.
Really in joy watching, Thank you for sharing your Knowledge! ❤️🌍
What about oatmeal? Can oatmeal help lower cholesterol?

Hey there! Thanks so much for your positive feedback and support.
Thank you Dr. Axe God bless you brother!
Excellent Explanation Doctor
I need to send this to my father! 🙏👌👏
I'm 32 years old, 133 lbs, resistance train 5-6 days a week, and also have a fairly disciplined diet - barely consume red meats. I was shocked to find out my cholestrol levels were 278 (LDL). I'm going to try a high fibre diet for 3 months before getting checked again. It looks genetic, and I probably would need to get on a statin but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the change in diet brings down those figures.
All the best and pls update your results of it
Was wondering if you succeeded ? how did the diet do and or what did you do to help y our cholesterol ?
Atillio D’Souzahope I hope you’re doing well and you are able to manage to bring your LDL down . My advice to everyone, stay away from Statin drugs, it is not going to help you bring your LDL down. Statin damages your muscles and it would have a huge side effect on your memories .
Can you give us an update?
What kind of meats did you consume? Did you eat a lot of eggs?
Thank you so much Dr Axe !!
Thank you for the information & I will apply it in my daily life
I wanna c Dr Josh and Dr Berg together
CoQ10 and high quality fish oil are definitely great for cardiovascular health, but I'm surprised you skipped niacin (B3) because it is perhaps the most effective natural vitamin for treating cholesterol issues. I've been taking all 3 of these supplements for years and the best part is that the ubiquinol (CoQ10) counteracts the possible side effects of the niacin. I haven't had any heart issues or any health issues at all since I began this regimen. I also take a high quality all natural multivitamin, Ester C and Vitamin D3. These 6 supplements with a reasonably well balanced diet have kept me healthy and off of all medications, I will take them for the rest of my life.
note to others than high doses of niacin can cause liver damage
Can coQ10 be taken without taking statins
Thanks for info what is the name of multivitamin you take and what brand omega fish do you use
@@utubestalker.dotcom Only very high doses are dangerous. Also, as I mentioned in my original comment, ubiquinol protects the liver from the possible impacts of niacin (as well as prescription statins). If you take niacin and ubiquinol together, you have nothing to worry about.
@@nevaehchapman5754 Of course. I've been taking ubiquinol for over a decade and have never taken a statin. Ubiquinol, high quality fish oil and niacin taken together can actually get you off of your statin.
Thank you Dr Axe I just learned so much from this video
Thank you ..good advise..
When he said garlic as a supplement I literally cut up some fresh garlic and just took it like a pill.
Ash 1749 yes take raw garlic and swallow it like a pill. It helps clear out plaque build up in the arteries
I do that, too!
Be careful with raw garlic, it maybe too strong and toxic for the human body depending on the person......definitely recommend cooked garlic instead
Same here I have 2 cloves every morning & swallow it like tablets then have porridge! That's the best
@@dany6711
You right about raw garlic.. it lower my cholesterol, but gave me lots of problem with my stomach.
Cooked garlic has no benefit same with swallowing whole garlic.. the big benefit when is raw & crashed...
What about, how much Red yeast rice, I'm subscribed. Thanks
Well done and great information
Thanks for such helpful Vid Doc!
Thank you! I was put on cholesterol meds and I had terrible side effects.
Statins? Yeah, miniscule upside in a handful of cases and massive downsides for just about everyone taking it. Don't let the medical establishment sell you on that garbage...because they have persuaded way too many people to sign up for life.
Thank you for this channel...im new to it. Im trying to learn how to eat healthy.
Try nutrition facts.org’s channel. That guy is literally a hero
Great info and explanation
Thank you for this interesting and informative video, Dr. Axe.
Thank you for this video. I just had blood work and my total number is at 300. My ratio is optimal because I have a lot of HDL, but my Dr. is on me about a statin. I don't want to take them. I'm going to try some of these recommendation to see if I can get number lowered without the drug. Thank you, again for staying on top of recent research.
Hey, Vickie! Thanks for your feedback. You should always keep your local healthcare provider in the loop about your dietary changes and supplement routine so they are best able to guide you. You may find this helpful: draxe.com/health/lipitor-side-effects/?
Where gave you been? Incredibly informative video! My choices esterol is 320 and I reluctant to take the statin. I thought i was eating healthy for the most part and my weight is 138, not too bad for a 75 year old.... I will try much of what you stated in this video! Thank you, I now have options
Thanks, great info
Thank you!
Thank you so much for this Doctor Josh Axe! I just love you so much you have all the answers to all my questions always! I thank you for being you, and not one of those terrible money hungry big pharmaceutical doctors! I appreciate you and what you do! You really mean a lot to me I was just prescribed a Statin and I am only a little bit overweight and I am committed to eating right and exercising and I know that I could get healthy without those nasty pills and now that I've watched your video I'm positive I can do it with your help thank you so much for making these videos it really does mean the world to me! 💜
