@@wandasteeves5239 I'm in the US....I got it from amazon. If you look in the description of my videos (see more) I have a link to my Amazon store front. You will find it listed under tarantula clothes
Five. I was up to six within my first two weeks. I now have 23 🤦🏼♀️ I cannot pick between my N. incei "gold" and my M. balfouri and my H. pulchripes 🥲
Man, I don't even watch these videos for the title info. Every one of these videos are just gold. The editing, the footage, the lighting. Each video is a masterpiece. Well done, +1 subscriber
Totally agreed ! Caribena and Gbb are pretty much the same honestly. Both can do some pretty webbings, fairly docile, amazing color transformation from slings to adults. Only difference is C. Versi humidity might be a bit tricky for some people. Both are my first two T and never regret it.
Got super excited when you said chromatopelma! If you asked any of my friends and family, they'll tell you I'm 100% afraid of spiders. But I caught a glimpse of a GBB online not too long ago and became fascinated by its coloration. For me, its colors make it less intimidating. I've been constantly doing research and hope to get a GBB for myself in a couple months!
My mum found out we got some slings and her response was 'but you're scared of spiders'. House spiders when they come out of nowhere or dissapear and you cant find them, yes. Trarantula's are different somehow!
I have a soft spot in my heart for both C. versicolor and H. pulchripes. I'm still trying to get a female C. versicolor but I got lucky with the H. pulchripes. She was given to me by a subscriber as payment for babysitting his tarantulas. Great stuff man. :)
Just beautiful. My 8 yo daughter's been asking me to get her a C. versicolor for her first arboreal T, and I've always wanted a GBB. Hahaha thanks for making up my mind about them!
I see we are on the same page, the GBB is one of the greatest tarantulas ever. Color: Check Beautiful Transformation: Check Appetite: Check Webbing: Check Size: check The Fact that they Stand Out: Priceless! T-shirt: Wicked Sick
The only con I can find about them is their skittish juvenile stage. Over half of the people I’ve seen who have raised them say that they’ll kick hairs if you even touch the enclosure. At least they seem to grow out of that
I personally have a Grammastola pulchra and an aphonopelma chalcodes. My a.chodes is super chill, never kicks hairs at me, and he’s always out and crawling around. ☺️
My favorite is definitely p. murinus. Ridiculously hardy, bright colors, lots of webbing, no hair flicking, and just something amazing about a tiny animal willing to throw down with you when upset.
I have a 5.5 inch female GBB. I love her so much and she's absolutely gorgeous but she's also a complete and total jerk and a mad hair kicker. She kicks hair at her plants, she kicks hair at her food, she kicks hair when I open her enclosure. I hate that she's kicking herself bald but I still have to interact with her enough to take care of her so I just accept that she is going to be bald. She is a rescue, I got her from a defunct pet shop that was being shut down due to animal abuse. She is still in the large critter keeper she came to me in, though I cleaned it up and added fake plants for her to web up and added more substrate. I do intend to rehouse her in an exo-terra 12x12x12 once I'm done remodeling my apartment and make a new shelf to put my enclosures. I think she will appreciate the front entrance more instead of opening the lid on top.
I also have a GBB sling and the enclosure is definitely the most beautiful and decorated, thanks to Saosin 😋 Beautiful tarantula! I do have a huge soft spot for my Aphonopelma chalcodes though. Piper is always out in the open, and super curious! Always wants to come out of the enclosure and explore whenever I open it up for feeding or maintaining. And I absolutely love it’s blonde and black patterns. I love that tarantula so much.
I have never kept any tarantulas, and I doubt I ever will, but your videos are gorgeous, man. Your photography skills are great, and you have some absolutely breathtaking specimens. Good work, and I'm subbed, even though I've never really thought about or cared for tarantulas before.
wow! that is freaking awesome..thank you. it amazes me that people that dont keep tarantulas watch and enjoy the videos....that is freaking cool! thanks so much for the kind words and support!
LP! My girl is 8 inches now and she’s a beast. The gbb is absolutely gorgeous and fiesty. Off topic, recently found your channel and your videos are stellar! Very informative and entertaining and the shots you get of these beauties are something to behold. Thank you for all you do and keep up the great work!
I have 2 GBB and I really enjoy keeping them in my company. Love the web they make and had no mold and mites problems. Feisty eater even when they're about to molt within few days. About temperament, mine are skittish and nervous. I'm 200% agreed with you as the best T and having them in the collection is MANDATORY.
Hi Richard.. another great video. I just wanted to say thank you for cositantly putting out incredible videos with the best content. Been a fan since day one.. long live the collective..
Something I never thought I would say but thanks to you and TurantulaKat, and the accidental meeting I had with a little jumping spiders. Those spiderlings are freaking adorable
2 things.. 1) 'asking what is the best tarantula is like asking.. which is your favorite kid.' My mother would answer this easily.. her dogs. Without a doubt.. and me, my sister, my step-brother all know it. 2) thank you for all of your videos. I am planning on getting my first tarantula and have been watching as many of the videos here and a couple of the other channels as possible. The information has been of immense help and has saved me from having to badger one of my friends with 1,000 questions.
I was hearing about the H. Chilensis and how it was the most easiest to care for. Eupalaestrus Campestratus, & Neishchnocolus sp Panama was also easiest to take care of as well.
I know this is an older video but I am newer to the hobby and stoked to have so many om the honorable mentions and the number one 🥰 I have a Caribena versicolor sling, Brachypelma hamorii spiderling and Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens juvenile ❣️

Awesome as usual man your T's are absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! I found a regal jumping spider in my mother in laws aloe plant.... (father in law has arachnophobia.... kills every spider and runs.... almost 80 years old and this man RUNS) I had to catch it and hide it in my house shop here didn't kill it... got a bad ass black and orange face on her abdomen though!!! 😍😍 maybe one day I can get a T.!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
I've been binge watching this channel because I got my first tarantula. These all seem pretty but im big on personality so I'm happy with my curly haired. I'm just happy having a little fluffy guy or gal around.
Love love love my gbb!! I had a c.versi slings but it died when I was moving house, been trying everywhere for another because of the exact reasons you mentioned in your video, but it's only been in the last couple days they became available to me again!! So gonna need to jump on that, but I badly want a g.pulchra, p.metalica and a goliath bird eater aswell!! I've had a little curly hair from a slings and thst was about a year and a half ago I got it as my first ever T.. its came on great 👍
Great video! Personally I would have briefly touched upon the fact that Aviculariinae like C. versicolor tend to be a bit fragile as slings, which could be a potential drawback for some new tarantula keepers. That is not to say they can't be a first tarantula, as my first T was a versicolor, but I've seen a lot of sad stories regarding them on Facebook groups. Other than that, C. versicolor is definitely my #1 favourite in my collection!
I knew what you would say for tarantula favorite ;) and for me its the versicolor, gbb and b. auratum and these will come in my collection but i will start with the b. Hamorii
My GBB is a sling and its carapace is the prettiest shade of copper, almost dual chrome looking. I cant get over the little ankle socks. It's so cute!! I fed it a roach that I thought might have been too big but it went for it right away. It took a little bit for it to bring it down, but it did it, happy dance included 🥰
My favorite is my A seemani. Probably a weird choice but she's so sweet and moves dirt all around her enclosure and is out all the time I just love her. A large part of my collection is slings though so we'll see if it changes
I am ordering my very first t in a couple of days. I am a HUGE arachnaphobe, and wanted a VERY docile, and one that gets fairly large (my husband would like a birdeater, lol) so I'm getting a gramastola pulchra. .
Richard your channel was the reason I chose a Caribena versicolor 🥰 Absolutely love my sling. I'm a first time T owner and watch your videis daily. Thank you for you suggestions and advice. My next will be the GBB.
I haven’t really gotten into arboreal species but I do love the coloration of that one. It will probably be my first arboreal species when I eventually get one
I got my GBB named Medusa last month because of your recommendation. I absolutely love her! I also have a G Pulchra, she's kinda boring in comparison but also very beautiful!
I just got a GBB sling, it arrived on April 1st. It didn’t take any food, but when I came home from work on April 13th I was surprised to see it had molted! It is now close to 2 inches and has eaten 2 juicy meal worms. Always out, webbed up its deli cup, love it! Great video!
Hapalopus sp. Colombia and I think its ybyrapora diversipes (sapphire pinktoe tarantula) are my 2 fav but hey I love almost all of them even thought I don't own any
Yesss Richard if only one I would keep a GBB(works as a beginner, and lovely colors from sling to adult). But I couldn't do it lol!!! The H pulchripes is probably on my list for next spider or a C versicolor 👍. I have 40+ t's and 21 different species and to say only one well NOT IN MY BOOK lol. But favorite changes from one to the next. Sometimes that freebie is a favorite that you didn't even expect to like lol. Great video and keep up the great work Richard! 🍻 🕸🕷🕸
I love your channel man! I LITERALLY went from hating and fearing all spiders, to watching your videos and finding the “coolness” in tarantulas! Who would have thought! Now I am VERY SERIOUSLY considering buying myself a GBB! I actually purchased one, but unfortunately it couldn’t be delivered bc I had missed the very specific date it was getting delivered because I had gotten locked up for a few nights due to un-paid fines. But I’m considering trying again, if things don’t go as planned this time, it’s not meant to be, if all goes well, I’ll have an awesome new pet to watch from afar, thanks to you and your kick ass channel. Please keep up the good work, converting spider haters to spider admirers! :)
Man you explain it so well and you have such a positive energy. I've found your channel by mistake while searching what to buy as my first trantula. I've decided to take a nhandu chromatus female as my first
Out of your list I have the B. hamorii (classic) and C. cyanopubescens (everything mentioned). I like gold spiders so I have a couple of Phormictopus auratus slings. Like jet black so I have a G. pulchra. Like weird/unusual so I have a ceratogyrus marshalli. Probably going to get later: H. incei C. versicolor H. pulchripes Birupes simoroxigorum Haplopelma sp. “Bach ma” H. schmidti etc... just too many cool T’s!!!
Just (really just now) finished unboxing five from FNT . G actaeon , L parahybana , M robustum , N coloratovillosus , P cambridgei . Two are tiny . Less than half an inch . Housed them in the vials they came in . Really nervous . Never dealt with anything that small . Thank you Richard !
@@tarantulacollective Very good care ! Except the N coloratovillosus was less than half the size it was supposed to be . No problem at all . I plan to use them exclusively ! Thanks for another good video !
I really appreciate the content you produce and provide, and im sure a lot agree with me, so keep up the amazing work! Also, what genres of music do you like to play? I enjoy seeing your beautiful guitars in the videos alongside the animals! Animals + Music are essential aspects of life friend
I have four out of five! The Theraposa Blondi is the only one we don't have and I really want to bring one up from a sling. My partner doesn't want a tarantula that she can put a saddle on, but I am working on it! We have 21 now. She said she didn't want to go past 20, but we are already shopping for new additions. My very favorite is the Aphonopelma Chalcodes because she's the very first tarantula I held in my hands and had no fear of. Just a couple of years ago, I would have fainted and now I love them more every day.
I have a GBB sling, as well as several other Ts on your favorite list. I got a B. Boehmei sling in the other day. But let's talk about quality. Visually, your videos are the best in the T world. There isn't even a close second. I recently ordered two tee-shirts and three T masks. Nobody else sells spider shirts that I'd be willing to wear in public. You have the advantage of that super cool logo, so there is no competition and I doubt there will be in the future. Anyway, all I need to get now is a C. Versicolor and I'll be pretty well set.
wow! thanks a lot jeffrey! that is very cool of you to say! I spent probably waaaay to much time working and reworking that logo and getting help from other people. I am glad you like it. Thanks so much for the support! It really means a lot...I hope you like the merch (be patient, bc shipping times are freaking slow right now with all the covid19 delays)
Got my first tarantula on the way. Got a gbb and can’t wait for it to arrive. Worked with them before but never actually owned one! Your videos are super helpful!
Yes! Both the GBB and the Caribena Versicolor made it on the list! My first and so far only tarantulas (that's gotta change soon though). Thanks for the video, Richard! May I suggest - as a beginner - a video about common tarantula illnesses and how to spot and potentially treat them?
I just started and got Ephebopus Uatuman (Brazilian Emerald Skeleton), tliltocatl Albopilosum ( Honduran curly hair) and a Pterinochilus Murinus (Usambar Orange Baboon). Always been fascinated with Trantulas and finally got some!!! Cheers and happy T keeping!!!✌🏽🕷🕷
Dude if you are ever in Scranton PA or around there stop at petzone in Pittston, they are a exotic shop you would love just taking a look around. It is where I get most of my Ts. They have a huge list of new world and old world and crazy morphs for reptiles. They have giant salt water tanks hundreds of gallons with stingrays and shit. It would be cool to see you in my home town, take care and happy trails.
Have both H. pulchripes and C. cyanopubescens. So far, prefer the baboon more. Everything you describe is what mine is doing. Great webs from substrate to top of enclosure, awesome feeder, digs tunnels, prefers drier substrate. My Gbb has some web hammocks built, but is not a digger, and is content in a small corner of enclosure. Like them both, and got them from suggestions by you, Petko at The Dark Den, and Tom Moran. Thanks for the info and videos.
I have had 2 in my time of keeping and I've fallen in love with avicularia avicularia I just love how elegant they are there beauty and care Is so easy
My husband and I have a greenbottle blue. Weve had it for a couple months its so beautiful makes amazing webs. And not too skiddish. Lol. I love to talk to it and its almost like it listens to me🤣
Your favourite is my favourite as well. I have a 1.5" female and getting 2 more slings next week. Such a beautiful species. I think they should be everyone's favourite. I would never get a T. Stirmi or anything from that genus because of the hairs. They aren't pretty either so they aren't impressive to me. Size doesn't matter to me. I have 5 dwarfs and 11 normal size (around 6" full grown) so it doesn't matter to me. I love the small size though. ❤🕷️
Loved the video man. Its always great listening to other peoples reasoning for their favorites. I agree, all of the ones you mentioned I own, or have owned. But as for the best, I woulda personally put the red knee in the top spot! mainly because of their slower nature and easier to handle than the GBB. Still has the cool color contrast aswell as the great 'display' feature as they dont seem to hide much as adults. Certainly do as slings tho! Haha. Aahh.. its a topic I could literally talk about all day! Anyway man, thanks again! Keep doin your thing man, cya thursday and hope you and your family are stayin safe!
I'm getting a Burmese chocolate and golden tarantula. This week. You 've help me to understand what to do for my baby. It my first one too. She already malted. She's about 3inches by 3 inches. She is a pretty girl.
I have all them and they are wonderful T’s to have. Although for me I would have to say my all time favorite T is Grammostola Pulchra. Stunning color, great feeding response, out on display, calm and all in all perfect! Great video and thanks for sharing.
Your videos are perfection. The editing, production and content is fantastic! The Brachypelma is always going to be my favorite but I couldn't agree more with the GGB as the best. They grow pretty fast, they are a different spider with each molt, and they can make a display enclosure like no other. Keep up all the awesome videos man!
Psalmopoeus cambridgei is my favorite. She's been my calmest chillest tarantula so far. Never bolts or anything. I love the size, her tawny color, the pattern. My sweetest baby. Although once I get more tarantulas I'm sure my option will change.
My older sling GBB just molted ... this morning it's heading toward its 3rd molt. Still waiting for the small one to molt :) Getting big, lookin' a little different and got some attitude now. I LOVE It
For me its brachypelma boehmei and emilia. Both are pretty docile ... boehmei is kicking hairs when bothered but no kicking while handled. Sometimes when she's calm, she don't even kick them out at all. Emilia is just sweetie 🥹
The best are Aphonopelma Moorea and Aphonopelma Anitahoffmannae because their coloration, but both are very expensive. Also GBB and the little GBB (d. Diamentisis), OBT, A.Braunhauseri,G.pulchripes and C.Versicolor..
If I ever go to WV, it’d be to visit you, lol, amazing set ups, I’m on my second T now, a GBB named Lord Varys, first was a pink toe named Drax, the Destroyer, RIP :/
I watch every video I can find of yours and recommend all of your care and husbandry videos for specific species but I've honestly gotta say you got this one wrong. Lol. I'd say the brachypelma albicep take first place. They are beautiful have great coloration, easy to maintain, good feeding response and are extremely docile in my experience. I know this species is your unicorn but this was my first species and I want more.
I have a few empty tanks still and i do plan on getting another T when i get the money for it and this vedio help me figure out on what i should get next. Also thanks for the info on each of the T's that helped alot

Good suggestions. I'd be interested in watching that also.

I fed it a roach that I thought might have been too big but it went for it right away. It took a little bit for it to bring it down, but it did it, happy dance included 🥰
Very nice!
Your channel is the best dude
My favorite thing about your channel is your B roll man. Where did you learn to do all that?!
I am learning as I go. Mainly from weatching hours and hours of youtube videos on how to make youtube videos and film
I love all my t's, but the gbb is like a best friend
Thanks for the idea, im full of motivation right now to start in the hoby.
Bought a Caribena Versicolor and it came today, she's such a beauty, definitely my favorite (but I still love both of my tarantulas)
I just picked up a gooty sapphire ornamental. It's been 2 days and it's my absolute favorite. It's just mesmerizing.
My favorite is my A seemani. Probably a weird choice but she's so sweet and moves dirt all around her enclosure and is out all the time I just love her. A large part of my collection is slings though so we'll see if it changes
I just picked up a Juvenille. Very chill T so far.
I am ordering my very first t in a couple of days. I am a HUGE arachnaphobe, and wanted a VERY docile, and one that gets fairly large (my husband would like a birdeater, lol) so I'm getting a gramastola pulchra. .
Audrey Whitaker Grammastola pulchripes is an excellent beginner T you will be happy with your choice for sure
Richard your channel was the reason I chose a Caribena versicolor 🥰
Absolutely love my sling. I'm a first time T owner and watch your videis daily. Thank you for you suggestions and advice.
My next will be the GBB.
my personal favorite is Psalmopoeus irminia, i have no patience to wait for them to grow and they grow realy fast. besides they have great colors.
My one prefers to hide, so usually i see only her legs :(
@@zakkman yea my one too, but i made her hide in a way that i can see her when i remove a sticker from the glass so i'm fine with it
@@dormeod8027 great idea. i'm thinking about doing something like that either. It's shame to have such a gorgeous T and not to be able to admire it =)
I haven’t really gotten into arboreal species but I do love the coloration of that one. It will probably be my first arboreal species when I eventually get one
My favourite T’s the old times is Dolichothele Diamantinensis and also Euatlus Truculentus 🙏❤️💫
Great video! Sadly I want most of these species but don't have any of them.
Stimulus check 🤷🏽♀️
Good luck finding a GBB now. Price for them just went up!
In all seriousness, great video's. One my favorite channels.
lol
Man you explain it so well and you have such a positive energy. I've found your channel by mistake while searching what to buy as my first trantula. I've decided to take a nhandu chromatus female as my first
Welcome aboard!
I have a B. emailia I just rescued from PetCo and they’re still a juvenile. Glad to see it made #2 on your list!
I’ve GOT to get a GBB!!
Probably going to get later:
H. incei
C. versicolor
H. pulchripes
Birupes simoroxigorum
Haplopelma sp. “Bach ma”
H. schmidti
etc... just too many cool T’s!!!
Just (really just now) finished unboxing five from FNT . G actaeon , L parahybana , M robustum , N coloratovillosus , P cambridgei . Two are tiny . Less than half an inch . Housed them in the vials they came in . Really nervous . Never dealt with anything that small . Thank you Richard !
congrats on the new spiders! I hope fnt took good care of you!
@@tarantulacollective Very good care ! Except the N coloratovillosus was less than half the size it was supposed to be . No problem at all . I plan to use them exclusively ! Thanks for another good video !
On the other hand , the G actaeon (freebie) was nearly twice the size .
I just started and got Ephebopus Uatuman
(Brazilian Emerald Skeleton), tliltocatl Albopilosum ( Honduran curly hair) and a Pterinochilus Murinus (Usambar Orange Baboon). Always been fascinated with Trantulas and finally got some!!! Cheers and happy T keeping!!!✌🏽🕷🕷
Great video and I agree the G B B is gorgeous and I love the beautiful webbing. For most beautiful I vote for the T. Seladonia
Yeah love the c.cyaneopubescens everything is beautiful about them my favourite from my collection
Good music and beautiful T's = great video!
Thank you very much!
I think the c versi. Just for its jumping response on top of the things you mentioned Love mine. Just had its 3rd sucessful molt.
Like them both, and got them from suggestions by you,
Petko at The Dark Den, and Tom Moran. Thanks for the info and videos.
Very nice!
I have had 2 in my time of keeping and I've fallen in love with avicularia avicularia I just love how elegant they are there beauty and care Is so easy
My husband and I have a greenbottle blue. Weve had it for a couple months its so beautiful makes amazing webs. And not too skiddish. Lol. I love to talk to it and its almost like it listens to me🤣
100% agree with the GBB and hoping to add one to my collection next but my fav will always be the Tliltocatl albopilosum *Nicaraguan*
I want that shirt! Love this channel so much
Your favourite is my favourite as well. ❤🕷️
I have to agree Richard !! Great video as always ! Thanks for all you tips in the hobby !
All these best, or Top 10 are great, but what about the worst T, or ones which you deep down regret collecting
I have all them and they are wonderful T’s to have. Although for me I would have to say my all time favorite T is Grammostola Pulchra. Stunning color, great feeding response, out on display, calm and all in all perfect! Great video and thanks for sharing.
Good choice! that is an awesome species!
Nice video. Would you consider doing a video about your favorite inverts in general?
Another cool video lots of lesson here in tarantula tuesday:))
If I ever go to WV, it’d be to visit you, lol, amazing set ups, I’m on my second T now, a GBB named Lord Varys, first was a pink toe named Drax, the Destroyer, RIP :/
Your T shirts are epic!!! And I love your sorta creepy style
I got Nahndu Chromatus! Her name is Lucy and she is very calm. Shees about 7 cm!❤️🇳🇴 Love your content and editing!😁😁 Thank god youre on UA-cam!❤️❤️
Nice!! thanks for the support!
the_tarantula_collective damn, not even finished the vid and you aswered!😂 youre such a legend!😁❤️
