Your next video has got to be the best over looked intermediate species list. Then following that and advanced list. Brilliant video as always keep them coming. From across the pond in South Wales of the UK. :)
I started with a Harpactira Pulchripes. I know, that this is not the perfect beginner species, but I love this species and it went all right (also I dealed with the topic for over 2 years so I knew pretty well what I had to do
I recently got the pumkin patch and it's still a small one and also have the curly hair I love them and its awesome watching them at night
My first was a Chilean rose hair. It was amazing and so perfect so docile and calm
I just bought my first T yesterday, an Avicularia avicularia. They are between 1-1.5in right now, so I'm assuming they are a juvie. Such a cutie, and I cannot wait for them to grow and let me know what their sex is lmao
Their current hobby is testing all the hidey holes in their wooden centerpiece. I'm excited to see them web up the place when they are fully confident and feeling safe. Big thanks to you and the T community on UA-cam for shedding light on this hobby and helping beginners like me join the club. You and Dark Den in particular are very informative and reassuring for those who want to participate in tarantula keeping for the first time, and I think I have a spoiled little spider in the making ♡
My ten year old daughter is obsessed by your channel. She is desperate for her first spider. She keeps sending me your videos. She’s clever! 😂😂
That is awesome! It is so cool hearing about kids developing an interst in inverts at such a young age! I wish I had been introduced to them at that age :)
Did she ever get her first T??
@@animated8623 she certainly did. Had him 8 months and called Pedro. She adores him. Now wants to expand her collection. Saved all her birthday money and I’m now just going with the flow. She took Pedro in for show and tell at school and was hilarious cleared that classroom in 3 seconds. 🤭
@@tarantulacollective my three nearly 4 year old feeds our Caribena versicolour with me 😂
@@sofiarose4533 what t did you get her? My niece is obsessed too and around the same age x
I have two Versicolor slings. They always come out to say Hi when I am feeding or giving them water. Easily one of my all time favorite Tarantula.
I gotta say, I really appreciate the obvious prep that goes into these videos. Always great.
Smith Welson bruh this is a tarantula video, little to no people are interested in bitcoin here
I loved seeing some of the more uncommon species! You should definitely do more like this
Thanks, apparently it has been a hit.. so I definitely will.
@@tarantulacollective wdym its been a hit sorry idk what that means
@@ugly3498 its been a very popular type of video.
I bought my first tarantula today. I went with the avicularia avicularia.. her name is Winifred Sanderson. I'm completely captivated by tarantulas and have studied them since the beginning of the pandemic and I believe I'm ready to start my beautiful new hobby. Thanks for the great videos and tips.
Then you should go right ahead wth orange bitey thing 😈😈😈
@@semi5141 He should not get a obt starting out, that is a terrible idea
That pumpkin patch one is absolutely gorgeous, holy wow. I've never seen it before!
Finally someone who gives different species rather than just the same ones
I also like GBB as a beginer tarantula. The patterns of it is really gorgeous as they grows. Great video bro!
I feel you! The GBB is my favorite all time tarantula...i think it has been in nearly every top 10 list I've made...lol...so I figured I shouldn't include it in this one. :)
I miss those cute pink legs and black feet on mine!
My GBB is my favourite T the way she sits out in the open, hunts down prey and even when startled she disappears into her web but comes straight back out within seconds
I was gonna say the gbb lol. I'm getting one soon as my first T and I'm so excited! Future wish list includes m. balfouri, p. murinus, p. ultramarinus, p. metallica, h. Pulchripes, and h. devamatha. Maybe a blue fang, and o. philippinus lol.
Casey Elgin I’ve got my first personal T turning up in a couple of days and it’s a GBB!! Can’t wait! Worked with tarantulas but never actually owned one!
I'm not really big on Tarantulas as pets, but this guy's Enthusiasm towards the hobby just seeps out of his pores; very contagious.
Loved the video! 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks dude!
I like that you included a variety of dwarfs. I’ve been look at several for a beginners T. Thank you
I love that the versicolor made #1! After a lot of research I picked the caribena versicolor as my first T. I finally found one last march and she has been a total joy to care for. The dwarf species are adorable I'd love to have a toy floof someday.
Great list and Information as always.
So Happy that the #1 tarantula I am HIGHLY considering is #1 on this list! Thanks for this AWESOME list bro!
I’m not a “tarantula/spider person” per se, but man, those are some beautiful and colorful creatures.
Im starting with a Poecilotheria metallica. Everyone on UA-cam has been snearing at me, But I don’t care! They’ll be a total sweetheart because I am peaceful and keen.
Good luck
😂
Start with what ever you want to. I started with an orange baboon tarantula and I had a great experience with it.
@@niteshades690 obts are unironically a ver good beginner sp. they r basically indestructible
I totally love how every one of the T’s you present are somehow your favorite. This channel has definitely taught me a lot already! Great work!!!!
I just have to say I have been following you for quite awhile now. After years of wanting to do it. Today I finally bit the bullet and got myself a spiderling brachypelma emilia today. Thank you for all the info you provide
You are an impressive orator and host to a wealth of knowledge! Thanks for takin us folks in the cheap seats to school :)
#1 was my first ever sling...so great to watch them grow and change colors. I miss you Biscuit!🕷
So cool to see the diversipes up here. Great list you put together.
Thank you so much for this video! Got my first T few weeks ago and already looking for a ideas for my 2nd and having these different suggestions is awesome
Love this video! So informative, thank you!
Richard I love watching your videos. So much information regarding T's and how to care for them.
Your channel and info on the Caribena versicolor was what made me choose it as my very first T. I love it 🥰
I love your videos! Thank you for all the awesome information.
i love your room i could spend hours staring at all those . Well done! 👍
Thanks bro I can't tell you how much i appreciate this video, keep them coming . Your videos are great!
Yes my son made the list lmao. The only one I own rn is my B. Boehmi
Your videos are like watching a TV show, all the different angles and shots with high quality editing and actual enthusiasm. I love your channel, you're doing amazing work!
Yes!!!! Totally agree with #1! My Versi is the most curious little fellow and is always ready to come out to say hi and go back in for dinner. I look forward to our pre-dinner meetings. :)
Excellent again! Lucy and I enjoyed this very much, she's asked for another one for Christmas,,,,,,,,
Know this is an old video but was looking around for my first T and saw C. versicolor. Immediately fell in love with the coloration and glad to see it here. Might be grabbing one in a few months
Another great video! Thank you
Thanks for sharing! Gonna get my first T soon, this was super helpful. Your content is awesome! 😀
Loved the vid Richard ☺️, really enjoyed this one like all the others, totally agree with your selection, looking forwards to the next vid! Tuesday seems so far away😔
great video. so many cool ones out there
Excellent video Richard
I love dwarf tarantulas, so I'll definitely be picking up the ones you mentioned here.
I've been coming back to binge on your vids for a few months now. It's very cool to see how far you got in your production in a year. Very nice production and awesome content. Still new to the T's but learning lots to deal with my Chaco and LP.
really liked, installation on top👍😁
That was so awesome I'm going to have to watch it again!!
Wow! Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it that much 😀
Thanks for the video I’m looking into getting into the hobby I love Ts and I’m digging your videos man!
My overlooked beginner tarantula is 100% the Aphonopelma Seemanni (Costa Rican Zebra) had mine for almost a year, she's been through hell honestly. Three rehouses, improper conditions, lack of food, escaping, handling and excessive heat/cold. Yet through it all she's finally in her final enclosure, found what makes her happy and can afford good food every week for her.
I love this species, it's absolutely one of my favourites. They're gorgeous!
Mine is also my first tarantula
I got a boehmei a few days ago and I have never seen it on a list. I was so happy to see it mentioned!
I appreciate this list 🙂 bored of seeing the same ones suggested time and time again but they were all super interesting! 🥰
I'm new and late to the tarantula world, I came across you while looking into what's best to get as a slow docile species, along with proper care. I appreciate the information I've learned a lot so far. I'll be watching much more before I make my decision. thank you for the videos.
I swear this channel is keeping me same during lockdown here in Britain. Ive always been fascinated by entomology in general and the tarantula hobby is so cool especially in the online communities. Phenomenal content buddy. Also nice guitars!
Joining from your collab with WWR. Awesome video, makes me want to get a tarantula
Killed it again dude👍 I for one started getting a little tired of seeing the same t’s on every “top beginner species” list
Late to this video lol but I gotta tell you your passion for this is really making me consider jumping into this hobby. Been thinking about it for a long time. Hopefully you have some newer videos I can check out but this is awesome dude. I don’t care what it is, when I see someone talk about something they love with this passion I can’t stop watching.
Wow. Another great video. That’s pretty cool you got this out there. Most people go with A. Avic and T. Albo. Good job Richard
SO glad you suggest and explain about the less obvious T’s to start with. Thoroughly enjoyed this video, and thank you for describing each tarantula in such a caring way. 👍 BIG thumbs up.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
This video is awesome. Not knowing where to start with getting into these animals. Thanks for the recommendations.
I love that you mentioned davus pentaloris! I have two in my small collection. They've quickly become veryvspecial to me. Theyre wonderful tarantulas!
Ok, great, now I have to have the Trinidad ... I'm gonna end up with a basement, Richard
Yeah, I'm going to end up with an apartment in future 😂 i already spoke to my girlfriend about it and she luckily agrees with me😅 or we'll just build a shed where the temperature is nice and warm and the T's can chill.
thank you for sharing your amazing T's and giving us knowledge keeping them..
-subs from Philippines
Loved these suggestions, thanks!
You're so welcome!
Hi, I'm from the UK. 🇬🇧😊😁. Loved this. Thank you. I'm new to this hobbist. My very first Tarantula I brought was a Gammostola Rosea. I brought her from a neighbour for £20.00.
Not sure how long my neighbour had her, but I've had her for at least 3 - 3 & a half years. Since then, I've now acquired 5, more T's all Terrestrial.
This was really lovely to watch your recommendations for different T's for beginners that were not the usual suggestions. I've always wanted to get an arboreal to add to my collection, and also dwaft T's but didn't know what T's to get?
So glad Richard, that you made this video and included a variety of Tarantulas that I've not or even never considered. Great video, Loved it! Much appreciated. Thank you, Richard, Tarantula Collective. 😊👍🏾❤️😁👍🏾🕷️🕸️
What a great channel. Thank you!!!
Thank you!
Exceptional Videography, Such Great Edits, and Footage as Always, along with Solid Knowledge and a Focus on Care and Husbandry... Your Vids Are Amazing and Always Educational... Well Done Sir...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🕷 🕸
Great video, The davus pentaloris was my first tarantula, alway's relaxed and does not play with it's food.
Your channel is amazing and you are very informative! Had to subscribe!
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel!
Awesome stuff
Holy shit man! I've just found your channel here on youtube and I'm watching one video after another! What an AMAZING collection you have! I'm brazilian and around here is complicated to have a tarantula as pet... I mean, legally. I'm PhD in spider systematics and have been studying these beautiful 8-legged nightmares for 10 years now... My dream is to open a pet store to sell spiders but... I'm struggling with all the bureaucracy, paperwork and shit (more likely to me to give up). At least I have your videos now, so it helps to keep the dream alive! haha Congratulations on your channel! Cheers bro!
Your videos are alaways amazing. I just found ten new tarantulas i now want.. yep i can see this becoming life lol
YES YES YES!!!! BLUE FANG BABY!!! 2 or 3 of em cause one just won't be enough
Soo cool! I just bought my first ever tarantula and it is a caribena versicolor! It is really beautiful! It is alao cool that is makes webs! It is really a great tarantula! I love it and can’t wait to buy more T’s.
Brilliant. I can’t get most of those but they are incredibly beautiful
We recently got our 1st T and it’s a female brachypelma Emilia 7 years old and she is absolutely gorgeous! As I was watching the video I didn’t think you were going to include it in your list! So pleased they are 3rd on your list! Definitely a great beginner T. We already looking to get another tarantula so will definitely choose something off this list! Great Vid, thanks!
Thank you!
Glad you mentioned the Aphonopelma chalcodes beforehand! It seems like I never used to hear about them, but then all of a sudden everyone started singing their praises, and for good reason! I picked up my first sling about three or four years ago, and she’s still one of my favorites, even after picking up some more brightly colored T’s later on. A slow grower, but completely worth the wait! It’s insane to think that she’s just now starting to look like a genuine tarantula, while my Chromatopelma cyanopubescens and Brachypelma boehmei both started to shoot up in size nearly right away!
Agreed. There are a lot of newly discovered species in the hobby recently which are quite suited for beginners.
I'm so happy to see you placed the Antilles pink toe first I got one otw from fearnot
I'm just trying into tarantulas, my first one a couple weeks ago was the caribena versicolor. The other week the guy at the shop said the GBB is a must so ofc I got one. Then he sold me on a golden blue leg. Hoping to get a couple more this weekend, maybe a Mexican fire leg or a pink toe..... and one day an obt
Awww, versi is #1. My sling, Tribble, is my fave even over my gbb. He is very docile, slow and seems curious about what is going on around him. Very fun to watch while I am working.
Definitely have the versi and Hommeoma chilensis on my wish list. My pumpkin patch is probably my current favorite in my small collection...it's so chill! My purpurea is Satan and my chalcodes is currently a pet hole.
The music in these videos is awesome🤟🔥
Good selection and hard to argue against anything on your list. I have been looking for a A. geniculata for about three months now and no one seems to have any.... Keep up the good work.
My very first T was the Caribena Versicolor, I agree that this is a great beginner. Back then it was also considered an Avicularia so he was housed as a typical Avi. We got him as a very tiny sling and it was amazing watching him develop into an adult with all of the color changes and everything. Unfortunately, being a male, we didn't have him as long as we would have liked but I don't regret it, he was a sweetheart and this was the beginning of my T fascination. I would definitely recommend. ♥ What a great video, I am really interested in the Pumpkin Patch T, have to see if it is available here in Germany...
Thank you for including dwarf species. They're so much better than most give credit to. Though 99% sure you've got one, the A. hentzi is another highly overlooked and imho one of the best beginners for anyone who is patient. :D
Have both the versicolor and colombia. First heard of the pumpkin patch from your channel and I had to have it. Great videos 👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks!
Love this vid!
I really have a preference for the dwarf tarantulas! They're just so cute! I'd love to find a baby. Its so fun to watch them grow. Excellent information here thanks for the education! 🕷 ❤
Thanks a lot for this nice video.
If you want, a care & husbandry video about blue fangs wouldt be also interesting;)
Awesome video.
I love your work! Its amazing and thank you for that! I wish you'll make the video like 5 best "big" T's for begginers ♡♡♡ greetings from Berlin
I’ve had my Brachypelma Emilia juvenile for almost a month now and she/he is so sweet. This is my 1st tarantula & it has really made me so comfortable
Great List 👍
I just got my first tarantula, a Caribena versicolor, surprise I definitely agree with your nr.1 😁 I have a long list of tarantulas that I want but there was no question that I wanted the C versi to be my very first, I love it so much! Of course I can’t wait till I can get more though haha
Awesome video!
I got my caribena versicolor as a small sling. But now she's all grown up! Had it for a year now😊
Great selection, Richard! Love it! By the way, my very first tarantula was a Ybyrapora diversipes...
That is awesome!
I really enjoyed this video! Thanks for covering so many dwarf species - I have an N. Incei and would really like to get other dwarf species.
Great work brother!
Great vid 🤘🏻 i am a real sneake guy... i am new in the tutantula world... just looking for a lot of info of this amezing animals 😎 i stay watching your vid's grtz from Belgium keep op the good work 👍👍👍
I purchased my first 2 T’s in April. I caribena versicolour and a grammostola pulchra. Both slings this past weekend I picked up a P. Irminia and P. Pulcher both approx 3.5” I love the colours of the versicolour and irminia and found both to be very active I haven’t gotten a good look at the pulcher and the G. Pulchra has been in a borrow for about 2 weeks now. Thanks Richard for all the great info I always to forward to your vids
That's awesome! Those are some epic Tarantulas! Thanks for watching...glad you enjoyed the video.
Our G. pulchra also likes to stay underground, but rather than digging its own tunnel it just hollowed out a space under its cork bark... luckily right against the back side of its enclosure. T feels safe and we can see it whenever we want!
@@pehort goosr
Great list! In my opinion the A.seemanni is the best beginner, mine is such a sweetheart and easy to keep! The only downside I’d say would be mine really and I mean REALLY loves water so the habitat needs to stay humid and he/she will come running to sit under the water stream.😆 thanks for shining some light on some of the more overlooked species!😁🕷
Mine is really lazy and won't even burrow
Another great video, I started my obsession with a Mexican Red Rump and a Tiger Rump.
Yesterday was my 62nd birthday, so today I ordered my very first tarantula, a GBB. I like your shows, helps a lot with research.
I love watching your channel. My first tarantula would have to be one made by a 3-D machine. I love looking at them and learning about them. But I don’t know if I will ever be able to handle one. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊😊😊
This has been so useful (along with your other videos). I'm on the hunt (ironic term there) for my first T and your number 1 is exactly the kind of spider I'm looking for...been looking and the obvious Mex Red Knee as that was my first (very positive) experience has been my initial choice. But have been leaning towards the Mex Red Leg (not on most lists). I have been offered a Pink Toe but one that is prone to throwing out urticating hairs so a bit wary...think I'm going to hold out for the Mexican Red Leg or an Antilles Pink Toe...willing to wait and spend the money on the right variety
