Josua Mudreilagi it’s not a matter of price but it’s because Canon doesn’t have a proper ibis system. The first Canon rumored with proper ibis is the 1DX iii and still, it’s just a rumor...
Great Review !! I too love this camera. Have owned the 5D, 6D, and 7D series cameras as well as the 80D referred to this review. Once I picked up the M6 and then the M50, I sold all my other cameras without sacrificing any quality in imagery and while saving a bundle of money. I use this in commercials, documentaries, events, and especially a joy to use with music videos with the IBIS and light weight. I have a video that was filmed entirely with the M6 (counterpart to the M50, sharing the same imager and profile) here in UA-cam (look "The Josh Stewart Band" and the song, "Crazy". On that film I used the M6 entirely, utilizing EF, EF-S, and EF-M lenses with most all the shots handheld or mounted in the Manfrotto FigRig. The scene where the truck runs off the road was actually filmed with me running along side the truck on a hill side in the snow and note how stable the image is by comparison while the scene where the truck is about to hit the car was filmed in 30p and then up framed to about 60-100 and went quite nicely. Again, the M6 and the M50 share a lot of things similar and are comparable, except . . I wished I'd had the M50 instead because of the flip screen. Lastly, even though I don't mind the body, my onlytwo complaints with the M50 are: 1) ease of changing the battery or SD card once a slide mount is mounted to the bottom of the camera (door won't open) along with the shorter than expected battery life; and, 2) the camera would be so much easier to hang on to were the hand grip to stick out forward about 50% more AND that just might give way to allowing the SD card mount (and/or battery port) to be on the side instead of the bottom, thus allowing for ease in holding on to the camera once heavier lenses are mounted and the latter giving way to ease in SD card/battery changes. :-)
Dr Dimento hey , maybe you can answer my question , in the review , he mentions getting a 2.0 lens , if a person plans on doing any extreme low light filming..I’ll definitely be doing filming by lantern and camp fire , would you know the name and type of lens he’s referring to ? I just wanna get the camera and order the lens at the same time...

@@quintincoetzee nothing will really replace a gimbal or a tripod in these type of cameras. From what I've seen the m50 does a great job of getting rid of very tiny shake you get from hands holding a camera ( which is really all it's meant to do) . I’ve had my M50 for about a year. Still love it. It let me save money on the body and put my investment into great glass. The Sigma 10-20mm f3.5, Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2, and Canon 50mm f1.8 make an amazing package with the M50. I also have the Canon 24mm f2.0 and the EF-M 55-200. You don’t need a super long lens with this camera; it’s so easy to shoot 4k and crop in. One day I’ll splurge on a real cinema camera like the BMPCC6K or C200, and I’ll be set with all that great EF glass.
@@skinnylegend8324 I think a lot of people would say go for the so-called “nifty fifty,” the Canon 50mm f1.8. In terms of bang for the buck, you can’t beat it. It’s a great way to discover the magic you can make with a really fast lens. There are many MANY UA-cam videos about it, so look into that. Everything comes with caveats, though. In this case just be aware that, because the M50 is an APS-C camera, the 50mm is effectively an 80mm (full-frame equivalent). So, amazing for portraits and interviews, with a lovely natural look. But not for wide-angle stuff like architecture, astro-photography, etc. Getting a very wide field of view on the M50 is very tricky, especially in 4k with the extreme crop factor. If that’s the kind of thing you want to shoot, then I can’t recommend the Sigma 10-20 highly enough (a bit more than twice the price of the 50mm.) Add the Viltrox speedbooster, and you get a 17mm field of view in 4k, which is astounding on the M50. However, unless you have some specific use case for a wide-angle lens, I’d start with the 50mm f1.8.
Bo Katan Oh I assumed you already had the 15-45. As great as the 50 is, You would find it too limiting to start with just one prime lens. You’ll want a basic “standard” zoom to start with. The kit lens isn’t a bad place to start if you’re on a budget. It’s an ok lens that doesn’t get a lot of love on UA-cam, mostly because it’s not a fast lens. But for daytime, casual shooting, it’s fine. Also light and small for gimbal work. Look for the crowley crew channel. He’s an M50 evangelist who has a good video on the pros of the 15-45. When you can afford it you could graduate to Sigma’s 17-50 f2.8 or the legendary 18-35 f1.8. By the way, I should have mentioned you’ll need an EF-EFM adapter for the 50 and these other zooms (or the Viltrox speed booster). The 15-45 is a native EFM lens. Most EFM native lenses are not very highly regarded, though you might want to research the EFM 30mm f1.4 as a bit wider and somewhat faster alternative to the 50. I’ve avoided investing in too many EFM lenses, as I plan to move up to an EF-mount camera. But I do have the 15-45, and I like it for certain things.

People tend to search for a push before pulling the trigger on purchasing this M50. I was on the fence sleeping on the M50, but I've decided to spend extra hundreds dollars on the Sony A6400 after watching this.
River, I am searching for the best starter camera for images and video. My sole use at this moment will be to document backpacking/hiking trips that I go on. I'll be getting the peak design v3 clip for my backpack regardless of which camera I purchase, however, I'm looking for some feedback specific to my activity that I'd be using the camera for. I am a complete noob when it comes to cameras so this one seems like a great fit. I may be turning these images/videos into some level of a blogging experience and so if you or anyone else has feedback on whether or not this would likely be the best fit for a first timer I would greatly appreciate it. My common trip would be 6-14 miles of hiking per day in the pacific northwest.
So for me I’m stuck between this camara and the g7x mark iii, both great I like the idea of the mark iii bing slide in your back pocket type of camera but I also like the idea of this one having interchangeable lenses, I was told out the box mark iii has a better lense, and low light is great and it feels good, but I was wondering what lens would I you recommend for this camera that does vlogs and photography?

As a comparison what audio are you using for the main part of your video? Your normal audio on the video
Hello whitch one of them would you like buy? Canon M50 or Olympus M10 mIII? Thanks
You just sold another one. Thanks for the outstanding comprehensive review. Very helpful.
What do you think would be a good starter vlogging lens to lens to look into besides the kit lens it comes with
ef-m 22 mm
Do you think it would be good for action sports such as skateboarding?
For pictures not filming
I noticed something missing on your prescription glasses 😂😂
brooo
What’s missing?
Lol!!!
lol I didn't notice while watching the whole video until I saw this comment 😂
Mahagony Tiara😂😂😂 he’s missing the bar, or whatever it’s called
the price clearly went up :( and your actually from Canada too like me. I still am interested in getting it though even if it's going to cost me 1k on best buy
I have a Canon 60D and a lot of lenses for it. If I got this camera would I be able to use those lenses?
I'm a little late to the party but I just picked one up! Making the switch from a Nikon D3300. Thank you for a great video!
As a new creator shopping for a beginner-friendly camera, the M50 pops up in a lot of my research. Your review and test shots pretty much convinced me to get myself one of these! Hopefully the prices are okay where I'm at LOL
Thanks for the video, it was helpful! :)
Hi, please help! I have this camera but when i film the screen isn’t crisp, it has a tiny moving fuzz all over it, not blurry so not the focus but really noticable on darker patches of the screen. What am I doing wrong? I had it on the setting one down from 4k so shouldn’t be poor quality. My videos just don’t look like yours. 😭
Does this camera have bad background noise? Did you edit anything out of the clip you provided?
Just ordered using your link! Thanks for the great video!
Do you still recommend this camera in 2021 ? Considering I’m a beginner and I’ll probably stick with it for a year, year and a half or maybe even more
such a well explained video! i am a flight attendant, so this is exactly what I will be purchasing!
I am so happy to hear that- let me know how the camera is for you. be sure to link me your first vlog
What does being a flight attendant have to do with anything?
CARLOS Gonzalez flight attendants travel a lot and have to travel very light . They arnt allowed anything beyond a small carry on .

I am doing research to record sound of a forest, rivers/streams, thunder storms and have been looking for a video camera to get video as well. adding a mic to the camera be any diffrent for soft nature sounds?
Don’t feel like scrolling a ton lol so I’ve had a Canon Rebel T7 (1500D) and have a EF, EF-S lenses, so I need to grab an EF adapter to use on this?
Hi I have a question for you. Which camera should I get, and better for taking pictures for Instagram? What’s better D5600 Nikon or EOS M50 Camera for taking pictures for Instagram??
i bought the M100 and was very disappointed when i found out it had no external mic jack. def gonna exchange it for this!
I have seen quiet a few review about the M100 performance and they were all good having no external mic jack. The sound were clear and crisps.
@@ryemo5204 it depends on what kind of work someone will be doing with the camera. I ended up exchanging my M100 for the M50 and it was a lot better
@@cionna I couldnt agree more. Its good to know that you have the M50 now and its doing great for you. Cheers ❤️
I am actually planning to buy the latest M200 but I saw another review comparing it to M50, and the latter performed better in so many ways. So, I might still buy the M50 😅❤️
If an M50 has a full spectrum upgrade, what does that mean to the lenses that can fit onto this camera?
Is the software interface of the M50 as good as the M200? The M200 seems to have an easier way of exiting photos on the camera easily. It’s cheaper too. Can you edit photos as easily on this M50?
Yup. I'm sold! I actually had a Canon M50 in hand yesterday ready to buy but backed out until I found this video. Thanks! And I Sub'd!! :)
I’m looking to get a camera for running on my gimbal and I’m kinda torn between this and the 70d. I’m currently running a t7 NOT a t7i unfortunately. What’s your opinion for what I want to do??
Hi Im looking to purchase a M50 but I am also looking at the date of this video and Im asking myself if there is a newer model or if this one is the latest... of course Id really want to stay in a similar price range.
Does this camera have live composite mode? Or at least composite shot mode?
Is this better than canon 70D for mainly photography and if needed videos ?
Tripod mount? To use with this camera
I just ordered this camera and thought I would check out some videos. Your presentation was awesome. I appreciate the clarity and depth of this overview video. I am excited to open the box when it arrives, thanks to you.
Why the fcuk do you have airpods in your ears?
He was trying to block out your yelling....
@@ripley4726 These aren't the Pros, they don't block anything.
@@txm100 so you got your point across then :)
😂😂😂😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
He was provoking the engagement lol it worked.
SL3 is a bargain - 4K - Digic8 - 24.1MP - Auto tracking + eye tracking - touch screen - 520g - Ef/Efs options.
Excellent video. I'm sold!
People tend to search for a push before pulling the trigger on purchasing this M50. I was on the fence sleeping on the M50, but I've decided to spend extra hundreds dollars on the Sony A6400 after watching this.
Yep even now I love my Canon M50, love it :)
can you get different lenses?
Very great review. This can also be used as a webcam too if you get the interface cable and download the Webcam Utility software. Thanks!
I'll be picking up this camera before I go on vacation. Not sure which im more psyched for: the vacation or the high quality photos of the vacation :)
Is it possible to mount EF-S lenses on this?
Love your review, bell sell. I'm definitely getting this camera, I need it to make my UA-cam videos. Thank you.
Hi, I'm new to cameras. My question is: Will the Canon Rebel T6 lens fir on the Canon M50?
Great review.Thanks.
I've been thinking about getting this camera for my UA-cam. Definitely getting it now!
Just got mine!! I love it!! I did an unboxing video on my channel today!!
did you get it?
is the M50 still worth to buy at 2020?
@@andrewandary9548 yes! The last video I uploaded on my channel was with my m50. I love it as a beginner.
Thanks for the review. I just bought this new camera and started my own channel vlogging. Hope all is good for me 😊
Should I buy an external speedlite to get a more better lighting or is the in-built flash good enough?
How is the Canon color science vs Don't RX 100? Thanks for the review
canon is better right out of the box- but the rx100 has more flexibility if you want to manipulate it
Definitely buying this! can I buy the 50 MM 1.4 lens with this camera???
I'm tide between the cannon m50 and panosonic g7 for video vlogging.
m50 for sure. better colors
How about battery life for video shooting
So for me I’m stuck between this camara and the g7x mark iii, both great I like the idea of the mark iii bing slide in your back pocket type of camera but I also like the idea of this one having interchangeable lenses, I was told out the box mark iii has a better lense, and low light is great and it feels good, but I was wondering what lens would I you recommend for this camera that does vlogs and photography?
