It's hard to imagine now, but "Mr Blue Sky" was just another minor song in ELO's deep catalog and got almost no radio play in the US for 25 years. That all changed in 2002, when a Volkswagen commercial finally brought it into the mainstream consciousness. Masterpiece.
Really? I've been listening to that song for decades. Although thinking back, I don't guess I ever heard it on the radio, but on the Greatest Hits album which I probably listened to 500 times.

Her options where .. some Crapper wrap band or ELO. Suffice to say that after the first 2 bars of Mr Blue Sky..... She called me. Dad.. I Love you.
