My aunt made this a few times back in the 70s it was sooooo good. I loved this stuff. My mom got the recipe and would make every once in awhile. I seem to remember my aunt doing something different with the crust like she ground up nuts or maybe pretzels in with the graham cracker? Holy Cow it was delicious.
Thank goodness your channel showed up in my feed. This is some of the best stuff I’ve ever put in my mouth! I made this years ago and everybody loved it. I lost the recipe. Thank you for posting. It’s going in my recipe right now.
This looks yummy and easy. An excellent holiday desert for anyone who doesn't bake....and it can be done in advance making the big meal easier. Thanks!
I attempted to make a similar pumpkin cake, but it came out looking like it had a rough night at a Halloween party! 😂 Yours looks so amazing, it could probably win an award! I guess I need to head back to the kitchen and remake my video because this cake is definitely not ready for the spotlight yet!
why does anyone use that whipped topping full of artificial ingredients? Use whipped cream instead. You can stabilize whipped cream by whipping up some cream cheese and then adding heavy cream and sugar and vanilla and whip it up, so much tastier and you can pronounce all the ingredients.
Or use some Knox Gelatin. Bloom in hot water, cool a bit then pour in some cream. Whip your cream, then add the bloomed gelatin mixture. Google for exact directions.
Ok I'm no cook.. AT ALL! But I'm a HUGE fan of sweetened condensed milk. Is there a way to incorporate it in this recipe? Just to make it more rich.. which I really don't need!😂 Ok chef's, any ideas? I'm making this tomorrow and have a can of sweetened condensed milk, and it got me thinking... thats dangerous!🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for any replies, even if you tell me it wouldn't work.😘
I haven't 'made it with sweetened condensed milk (I think it will change the consistency and make it too sweet) but let me know if you try it and how it works.
@BalancingMotherhood I put a little bit in with the pudding. Not too much, but since I haven't had it the other way I don't know if it made a difference or not. The whole thing set up nicely and was a huge hit! It was delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe and making the video.
You'll need to use stabilized whipped cream. Regular whipped cream will fall flat and not work in this recipe. Here's our recipe for homemade stabilized whipped cream: balancingmotherhood.com/how-to-stabilize-whipped-cream/

After I *BAKE* 😇 the crust, I refrigerate it for several hours to solidify it so it doesn’t get mixed in with the cream cheese layer. This has worked well for this recipe.
It’s not like u r eating this everyday. We make something like this for thanksgiving. One day a year. One. Good grief. You aren’t going to drop from eating something like this one day (when the convenience of it is sorely needed). Lighten up.
@@WyattRyeSway that’s true. Though, if you’re like whipped topping in this dessert, chances are, you’re prone to eating it more than just in this Thanksgiving recipe. This same recipe, can be constructed from scratch, without all the garbage added. Yes, it will take more effort, but the results will taste 1000 times better.
@@critterkarma …..yes and as I said, we have it 1 time a year. When the kitchen is full of people making turkey, ham, green beans, potatoes, soups, salads, etc etc. Yes, it can be made from scratch but 1 day a year, after the pies have been baked the day before, this is thrown together for the people that don’t like pie. Most people realize it’s 1 day a year. We don’t make it for Christmas, Chanukkah, Easter, Passover etc. One day! We do not have cool whip in the house any other time of the year. We all recognize that one day a year we won’t die and it’s for convenience. There are many kids in my house. Three are under the age of 5. So, maybe don’t judge. Someone showed a video of a quick convenience recipe and you are throwing out Karen type judgements on anyone who dares make it. You must be an absolute joy at thanksgiving.
This recipe looks delicious! Thank you, and thank you for your kind remarks/answers to those who posted.

OMG LOOKS AMAZING
thank you! It's our favorite dessert for Thanksgiving.
This is similar to the double layer pumpkin pie I make every year. This looks delish!
That looks scrumptious!
This honestly looks great.
Omg, this looks unbelievably delicious 😋 🧡 Thank you 💛

I’m going to make this but use crushed Biscoff cookies for the crust

Also thinking the sugar could be reduced in this. 2 cups is a lot of sugar.
You could certainly try reducing the sugar.
Yeah that's why they call it dessert yummy 😋.
Sugar in dessert??????

Or Truwhip…
I prefer Dream Whip myself
Because Cool Whip is delicious!
I like whipped cream more than whipped topping

Why unsalted butter? Regular ol' melted butter should be just fine for a no bake.
I like to control the amount of salt.

Why sugar in the crust if cookies are already sweet?!
you could eliminate it if you think it will be too sweet.
I’m going to make a vegan version of this. What kind of pudding mix did you use? It looked orange in color

Lost me at all the processed crap like cool whip and pudding.
All you have to do is use non processed ingredients eg whipped cream, steamed pumpkin.
