Thanks again for another informative video. Would be interested to know what kind of minimum weather conditions this kind of low level exercise would be flown at...
5km visibility and 750ft AGL cloudbase! Though clearly flying through valleys would require very careful risk management!
@@cgaviator That would focus the mind! I fly using VR and the JF Hawk is a welcome addition to my hangar. I do enjoy the challenge of low level DR navigation being a frustrated Fighter Pilot and al... Really appreciate your content. Thank you.
Gate out was the bridge and you were visual but chose to parallel it instead of overhead running in 254? my instructor would of killed me unless I wasn't visual and was turning on time.
Haha, true. I’ll debrief myself on the planning! Didn’t need to fly so close to the town.
@@cgaviator Yea thats fair , was the same here in Oz having to avoid flying over farms low level.
Had to stop when you said "expecting a lake" There are no lakes in Scotland.!!
Amazing video, you totally missed a great reverse camera angle as you hit Loch Rannoch 🤣
Does starwars valley get its name from the Death Star trench run?
Yup! But it’s an unofficial name of course
Really great video and explanation of your processes. Thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Chris, great video! Have you tried the Hawk in VR yet? If and when you do would love to know your thoughts on it. I have been having a blast on the quest 2 wireless via virtual desktop :)
I also use the Quest 2 it's brilliant... If the resolution was any better you'd be hard pressed to tell it wasn't real.
Not tried it yet but I should!
@@Sophie-ly5jn Yes it is amazing! I hear that the Varjo aero is nearly life-like resolution, bit too pricey at the moment though. I expect in around 5 years or less all headsets will be as good if not better and for a reasonable price.
Might be a dumb question, but why is there not any other plane's and if another was using this, can you fly together?
Not many people flying low level that day! 😅 I turn multiplayer off for videos. You can fly with others if you want to 👍🏻
Not many people flying low level that day! 😅 I turn multiplayer off for videos. You can fly with others if you want to 👍🏻
How nice is Scotland
Now all I need is a Hawk to utilize the info in this vid.
The technique will work in any aeroplane 👍🏻
You flew over home for me! Aberdeenshire, towards Loch Muick, over Crathie and Balmoral Castle (sure HRM would be happy...). A93 west, over Marr Lodge. Awesome! good flight!
Thanks 👍🏻
Great video! I'm familiar with much of this route from flying gliders from Deeside Gliding Club at Aboyne. I didn't know that Glen Tilt is known as Star Wars canyon! As I was reminded over the radio once from someone in the DGC clubhouse: 'there are NO lakes in Scotland'!
Haha, true! It’s probably one of many Star Wars valleys 👍🏻
Before all this covid madness I flew from Easter to Glendoe (Fort augustus) at 6am, the loch was as glass smooth as it is in the sim, 200ft agl all the way down the loch and spoiled someones early morning quiet boat trip ( three ship combine) bit different in a hawk to a Eurostar though!
Bet that was lovely!
Well that's a coincidence... I went for a flight in the Hawk today and buzzed Nessie, only I flew from and to Coningsby taking in some sights on the way back...
Did you know that you can see the static displayed Vulcan at Sunderland Aero Museum? Made me smile as I had lunch in the bomb bay of that plane over 20 years ago
Nice! I’d not seen that, I’ll be sure to check it out!
Literally (virtually) flew past my house at 17mi s into the video 😂🏴
Great video
Thanks!
Maybe it's because of the good graphics. Maybe because of the great moderation. Or Maybe because I'm German. But at 14:25 I noticed how I said silently: bro, you can't do that. It's surely illegal to pick the entry point that close to a town.
Yeah, it was a little close. But I’ve not had any complaints yet! 👍🏻
It's fascinating to watch and listen how detailed a flight is. I also realize why your the one flying, and I'm the one watching.
I recognize the words as English, but that's where my understanding ends.
Yeah, it goes quick. There’s a lot of theory behind it, sadly I have no time to go into too much depth. Something for the future perhaps 🤔
I have no clue what you’re saying 85% of the time, but I’m fascinated. When I was a kid I wanted to be a jet pilot, so this is a really cool perspective to get. Thanks!
Appreciate it, thank you.
Low level over Balmoral at minute 22? Hopefully HRH wasn't in! Great video, if I quarter the airspeed it'll work for my a/c!
Yup… and thanks 🙏🏻
Could I ask - what are your system specs ?
Check the description 👍🏻
And another well done, informative video full of hints and tips😁👍. Love seeing your videos. Quality is ok now, no more blurries!!
Thanks CG!👍
Great to hear!
I knew that was Glen Tilt in the intro immediately. Mainly because I've been buzzed by a Typhoon while cycling up there.
Always fun to fly low level and see people on the ground above you! 👍🏻
No idea how this ends up in my YT feed and im terrified of flying BUT this was absolutely fascinating. Brilliant. Im off to watch some more of your channel. Cheers.
Lol, UA-cam is sneaky like that! 😅 Hope you enjoy.
This was wonderful and watched it twice now and then tried to follow as EGNT is my home airport. Was a disaster as I need to master checking the map without hitting the ground. Thank you for your time and work you put into this and I will get master this (eventually)
Try flying low level consistently without a map first. You’ll get there!
I would love to have this aircraft (not on Xbox, sadly) and 1/10th of your skill as a pilot. Your videos are inspiring. I want to do this too, and I will attempt it.
Thank you kindly! It’s such a shame it’s not on Xbox. The M346 is a worthy alternative!
@@cgaviator I agree! That is my chosen alternative. It has been fun to use, and I find it very different from my usual GA aircraft. Stumbling upon your videos has opened up an entirely new flight simming world for me.
@@dillank3240 interesting, a few people have used the word stumble. Did UA-cam recommend a video? Maybe I need better marketing! 😅
@@cgaviator I think that's just how it works. I bought Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 in the spring, and so that inevitably led me to UA-cam so that I could find advice on how to fly the aeroplanes in my hanger. I believe I found you by looking for information on the IndiaFoxTecho F-35, which I bought on special recently. The competence of your video grabbed my attention, so I have been watching many of them--some repeatedly.
Thanks again.🇬🇧
Working my way through your series again after getting the F35. Any reason why you didn't recover at Lossie? Amazing content.
@@DCSHacks Had scenery for Inverness! 😅 And thanks!
Very nice again - lets not forget that no R/T so a little less to think about haha p.s not much time to land at Inverness after pulling out of low level.
True, always more relaxing not having the back and forth with ATC! If I did this recovery for real I would have to exit low level 15 miles sooner.
It took a while to sync up with google maps but once done I could be just ahead of you and then look out for ground structures/features. Actually great fun and a testament for the level of detail in the scenery. Very nicely commentated and flown.
Awesome work, and thank you 🙏🏻
I wish the Hawk was a quality module on DCS !
Very cool to have a Pilot who flew this actual aircraft. Out of interest, why did you stop? Dream job. All the best.
All pilots move on throughout their career. Wouldn’t mind another go mind! 😄
You literally flew past my house. The wind turbine is where walk the dog. The town to the right is forfar. Its so spot on I'm frightened
Lol, yup, great to sight see with!
Another great video. Thanks and keep them coming!
Wow, first one of your videos that I've seen but I'm hooked and now want to learn how to fly! Thanks for uploading 🙂
Thank you for the kind words 👍🏻
Thank you UA-cam you crazy random wonderful platform. This was amazing.
Lol, glad it seems to be working! And thanks 👍🏻
How many hours do you have in the Hawk?
About 100, perhaps more
Hey man, great content. Learnt a lot from your videos. You should fly the sidewinder in America, lots of fun and good visuals
Good use! I’ve heard about that route, I’ll check it out!
Wonderful! Really enjoyed watching that, very informative. Thank you
A pleasure, and thank you for taking the time to comment 👍🏻
If you're using Vr. How is it now is it better now with msfs and what are your settings for the Vr.???
My VR settings are work in progress. Only just started to get back into it. The visuals are sooo much better on flat panel at the moment.
Another brilliant and informative video. Is there any chance you can make a video on doing circuit training in the Hawk?
I kinda did with my first video. I should really do a circuit or two! Shouldn't take too long to produce. Thanks for the idea
Great stuff
Liked, subscribed and looking forward to watching more! Thank you for doing this
Every sub appreciated, thank you 🙏🏻
Those vehicles are excellent to have around but seem to be a real pain, hopefully there is a software upgrade later to sort them out
The AI could be tweeted, but it does provide entertainment!
I only fly DCS, it never occurred to me that flying can be so brainy 🙂
When the aircraft doesn’t work it out for you, it gets interesting!
Absolutely awesome flight. As an amateur simmer that just blew me away. Thank you. Just need a VFR flight plan so I can have a go.
Your wish… check my channel or my website 👍🏻
I thought “lakes” were described as “lochs” and “valleys“ described as “glens” in Scotland…
Yes yes… I’ve officially been put on the naughty list! 😆
@@cgaviator Excellent video btw!
@@GuitarandMusicInstitute thanks 🙏🏻
Brilliant video, what system and platform are you running this simulation on?
Thanks. System spec in description 👍🏻
Bravo!
Awesome to get a real world tutorial - thanks for sharing your knowledge.
You’re welcome!
You owe me £800.
You went right over my house and damaged some of my property.
You should be aware of the bubble violation you executed, I told the air force that my property was a no fly zone.
Did they tell you ??
👁👄👁
Hahaha, only £800!?
Nope, its actually about £20,800 if you count the roof
Lochs and glens no lakes and valleys
Haha.. yeah I know! Lol, apologies!
They are lochs, not lakes. You also missed a chance to bomb Dundee!
Did you ever fly down the Clyde, at the Holy Loch? We see jets skim the river every so often but I have no idea if it's the RAF or USAF.
I know I know! I won't make the Loch Lake error again lol! And also, I have not
@@cgaviator He he he. Don't sweat it, we Scots just like to wind our southern cousins up about it. Interesting you haven't flown that way, lots of hills and valleys to scream down, I wonder who it is then. We get a great view of them from where I live in Greenock. Loved the video, I'll be back!
I could see the people on the ground waving their fists at you!
Lol, I’m used to it! 😅
Newcastle my home airport was amazing watching you fly this
Thank you, very kind! 👍🏻
Sortie du train atterrissage "3 vert" bien trop tôt.......;)
Tu veux dire au décollage ?
@@cgaviator Et non atterrissage ….
