Ah but when you make your own hummus...make your own tahina!!! Tahina is so so expensive. You just roast some sesame seeds on a stove top quick quick....blend them as they are. Then add 2tbsp neutral oil and you have tahina. I just throw the chickpeas and other ingredients in with the tahina that's already in the blender and done! 🎉🎉🎉
I always make my own too. So simple and so much better.
I've never liked Tahini, which is so strange.. I like sunflower seeds.. Maybe homemade would be better!
@@jill5454 tahini is made out of sesame seeds
@jennifergreen6109 aha, thankyou. I think I knew that?! But I like sesame seeds too. I'm not a fan of chick peas tho, mainly texture. Maybe that's why I don't like tahini? I'll have try making it from scratch and see if that helps.
@@jill5454Tahini does not have chickpeas in it. 🤭
Thank you! I'm unemployed at the moment, so you have great timing. So yes, more $$ saving tips please.
Me too! The job market is brutal right now.
Just made pesto, using walnuts, violife parmesan, and nutritional yeast. Wow. I've never made pesto before. Turned out great! It's so good!
Yes some more money saving tips plz n thanks. You brighten my day.
Définitly want a part 2!! Love the ideas!
Great ideas. I love the pesto recipe. By the way the SCOBY is actually the cultures in the liquid. The slimy thing is just cellulose that the SCOBY produces. You can just throw it away. You can keep or give a small jar of unflavoured liquid kombucha for future fermentations.
Yes more money saving vids👍🏾
I’m living for the roots!! Love your hair.
These are some great recipes. The croutons are funny because I’m super lazy. So one day I was going to make croutons and my usual system was to smear the bread with seasoning, toast and then cut it up. Then dry it out a little more. Well one day I was in no mood for step three and we just ate savory toast next to the salad. This is what we have done every since 😂😂😂
Can you do a video on the best way to store our homemade creations? That is one of the reasons I don’t make homemade stuff like mayonnaise, I don’t eat it fast enough so it goes bad. I end up wasting money that way.
You can also make your own breadcrumbs with the odss and eds of bread... dry them out in the oven and through in the food processor - pulse for panko style or process finely for italian style.
OMG!! I’m loving the new Candace attitude in your videos. Long time subscriber coming back. Keep it up.
Yes please, more tips on saving money! :)
Hi Candice! 💜 I love this concept. It also entices us to cook more which is great ☺️
Thank you!! I’ve been using my cookbooks and staple items a lot more. I will definitely be making my own hummus and sauces from now on. Kombucha would be fun to try too
Just bought your cookbook and I love it!!!
Hi Candice, I loved this video. Thank you for sharing these tips : )
Your channel is fabulous. Love it.
Just found your channel! Your videos are so fun!
Thank you for this video 😃 I use pumpkin seeds for pesto, and it works perfectly.
Awesome tips, I love them all! I will so be doing the spaghetti sauce and the croutons. I love hummus and I saw your video when you came back from Israel and I made that recipe and it was so, so good, I wanted to eat it by the spoonful. Sadly, chickpeas do not love me back so even though they are a vegan staple, I finally just stopped eating them. Super bummed, but the people around me have to breathe, LOL! So, I switched to learning how to make Baba Ghanoush (sp?). It is so easy to make, but if you ever come up with any recipe on your own, I would love to try it! It, like Hummus, I could eat by the spoonfuls too! Thanks Candice, you are awesome!! ❣
I love this and you deserve more comments on this video SO THERE
Very helpful video!! Thanks Candice❤
You are so welcome!
❤ love your channel Thank you for sharing this edgy with me ❤
These money saving tips are great
love these videos
Never bought hummus in my life. Chickpeas are cheap. I cook my own. Two big pots and then I freeze the chickpeas. I make my own hummus. Like someone commented it is very quick and easy to make and much cheaper and tastier when homemade. (Toast sesame seeds, blend with neutral oil).
Yes please, would love more videos like this
Also maybe a staples video and made your own convince food video
Thanks for the feedback!
5 batches, I think you mean.
Thank you for so many fantastic tips❤
I’m helping my man transition to veganism. We’re binging on your videos. I’ve watched you for over a decade and adore you, you’ve been one of my favorites forever, so I thought I’d introduce him. We both agree that you’re gorgeous and super knowledgeable.
Thanks for all your helpful videos. Much love, keep being amazing ❤
Yay! Thank you!
My grocery bill is now at least 3X more than it was a few years ago, and we were already struggling then, so no joke. I never buy products anyway, so I really appreciate this! (except the protein powder.)
Fun fact: molasses is made from sugar cane. It is like they take regular sugar cane, divide it up into sugar and molasses and then add them back together for brown sugar. 😂
The more you know...thanks!
Niceee!! 🎉
But then how do you make the pancakes? You have to mix it with oil or water or something?
I think you would make them however you make the ones that come in a box. You would probably just add water till it was the right consistency.
@@Yeahthatshowifeel but a lot of boxes have different instructions and most include eggs, which we obviously would not. And some even include apple cider vinegar to make a buttermilk substitute. Yes, I’m an overthinker.
You’re iconic
What happened to Janelle, and making food together ?
You're in Canada, right? Because the U.S. is not currently in a recession. In fact, we're doing better than any other G7 country. But it's always a good idea to watch what we spend on groceries. Besides I just like to watch your videos!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
if she shows that godamn scoby one more time imma vomit lol
jk but like omg its so disturbing looking lmao
Have you ever had a pixie cut? I try think you would be so cute in a darkish pixie. Nothing to do w/the video, just my random thoughts.
Has anyone told you you sound exactly like Demi Lovato?? Lol
I love these ideas, but saying something like you don't understand why people buy pasta sauce is pretty dismissive towards everyone who works long hours, has kids, has a physical or mental disability, has trouble with executive function, or has a mental illness like depression
You're right because even I buy it from time to time. Thanks for the reminder. ❤
