Ah but when you make your own hummus...make your own tahina!!! Tahina is so so expensive. You just roast some sesame seeds on a stove top quick quick....blend them as they are. Then add 2tbsp neutral oil and you have tahina. I just throw the chickpeas and other ingredients in with the tahina that's already in the blender and done! 🎉🎉🎉

@jennifergreen6109 aha, thankyou. I think I knew that?! But I like sesame seeds too. I'm not a fan of chick peas tho, mainly texture. Maybe that's why I don't like tahini? I'll have try making it from scratch and see if that helps.

Great ideas. I love the pesto recipe. By the way the SCOBY is actually the cultures in the liquid. The slimy thing is just cellulose that the SCOBY produces. You can just throw it away. You can keep or give a small jar of unflavoured liquid kombucha for future fermentations.

I’m living for the roots!! Love your hair.
These are some great recipes. The croutons are funny because I’m super lazy. So one day I was going to make croutons and my usual system was to smear the bread with seasoning, toast and then cut it up. Then dry it out a little more. Well one day I was in no mood for step three and we just ate savory toast next to the salad. This is what we have done every since 😂😂😂
Can you do a video on the best way to store our homemade creations? That is one of the reasons I don’t make homemade stuff like mayonnaise, I don’t eat it fast enough so it goes bad. I end up wasting money that way.

You can also make your own breadcrumbs with the odss and eds of bread... dry them out in the oven and through in the food processor - pulse for panko style or process finely for italian style.

Awesome tips, I love them all! I will so be doing the spaghetti sauce and the croutons. I love hummus and I saw your video when you came back from Israel and I made that recipe and it was so, so good, I wanted to eat it by the spoonful. Sadly, chickpeas do not love me back so even though they are a vegan staple, I finally just stopped eating them. Super bummed, but the people around me have to breathe, LOL! So, I switched to learning how to make Baba Ghanoush (sp?). It is so easy to make, but if you ever come up with any recipe on your own, I would love to try it! It, like Hummus, I could eat by the spoonfuls too! Thanks Candice, you are awesome!! ❣

Never bought hummus in my life. Chickpeas are cheap. I cook my own. Two big pots and then I freeze the chickpeas. I make my own hummus. Like someone commented it is very quick and easy to make and much cheaper and tastier when homemade. (Toast sesame seeds, blend with neutral oil).
