- Roger Hodgson co-founded Supertramp in 1969 and was the driving force behind what fans call the 14 golden years of the band. Roger wrote, composed, sang, and arranged the enduring rock standards that made Supertramp a worldwide phenomenon with album sales in excess of 60 million. In addition to The Logical Song, Roger also gave us the timeless classics such as Give a Little Bit, Dreamer, Breakfast in America, Take the Long Way Home, It's Raining Again, Fool's Overture, School, and many more.
Roger is currently on tour. Every concert is a powerful emotional journey and his passion for his music and his art shines through in the magic and intimacy that is felt by the audience, as with this July 2015 show in Veszprém, Hungary. For tour details, visit www.RogerHodgso... or / rogerhodgson .

40 years later and he’s STILL. GOT. THAT. VOICE.
80's? They played in Bergen in 1974! But, yes ..still magical music it is!
@@torb56 I was late to the party and didn’t clue in til Budokan came out. Been a fan ever since.
👍🙏❤

Listen to Supertramp in highschool mid 70s 62 years ago and still listen to there songs
Might want to check that math
Roger sounds as good as he did 40 years ago. Bloody Marvelous indeed.
He does🎉❤❤❤
Bloody well right!
Incrível a voz dele. Voltei 40 e poucos anos..❤❤❤🎉
Someone listen in 2024?
Hell yeah!
Yess
Of course!
😊
Just now again and again
THIS IS NOT A SONG THIS A MORAL ANTHEM
Yes, definitely. My dad show me both songs this one, and Breakfast in America as well, I become fan of Super Tramp with those two.
We have gone the reverse way nowadays , actually : too many people are too illogical , driven by subjectivity instead of healthy logic. There needs to be a balance.
who the hell doesn't love Supertramp? Timeless
Not necessarily Supertramp....but Roger!
@@benicamenica1557 oh is there bad blood there? Does he own all the music maybe...its always a bit unfair when that's the case
sure...without sounding ugly, Roger is/was Supertramp? I mean its his voice and he wrote everything, the others are expendable. Never mind that he made them all rich. Unless there were contracts and legal docs, he can do what he likes with the songs now...and is
That early Saturday morning in the spring of 79, a bright sun is rising beyond the hills, dazzling 13 yr old me. My dad is driving me to school, he turned on the the radio for the road, that song is playing.
Such a beautiful image - I was the same age at that time. The album did alot to me too. ❤
It seems as if he is singing in a studio. Such tone. True perfection.
It sounds actually more lively and emotional here, than on the album
The fact that this song still holds ground. Man, this group was so underrated. One of the best bands and honestly, one of the best songs ever written.
A true eye opener.
Desde desayuno en América.
Massa relembrando só sucesso
breakfast in amaerica is one of the greatest albums
Please tell me they're in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They're a British Band, I believe. All the best bands come from England! Sooo Smashing!
I'm feeling kind of blown away at the fact he is 64 here and still singing so damn good and playing with energy
I’m 66 years old and he doesn’t sound any different than back then
one of the greatest live bands of all time
A nice change well done
Enjoy It While You Can Because It Doesnt Last Forever!
True
Oh but it does!
Supertramp will never die.
But beautiful songs last forever !
I love Supertramp. Breakfast in America is genius. And they are Britons!!!!
One of my favorite bands ❤
Hello Roger. Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil. My 86 year old aunt, Alice, who is facing a demential process, always cries listening to you. Your songs help her to recover her memory. She wants me to tell you that your songs make her trembling, hurting her soul.

August of 2024. And I've been listening to it since 1979!
This band got me through the 70s and 80s best band of all time.
One of the top sax parts in rock and roll.
Up there with Baker Street.

Not exactly.. but much similar.
Is not. Listen with attention.
Its arguably better! Not only his tone but his pitch has improved over the years as well!

I never tire of hearing this song .. The most philosophical song ever written.

Well said sir!👏👏
I`m a Supertramp generation guy. My first dance with my first "official" girlfriend, hanging out with friends listening ST on pubs, at home parties, u name it. So thank you Mr. Hodgson for keeping ST music alive. God bless you. They don't make songs like this anymore.
*Lyrics in 1979 was so relevant and still in 2022, Nothing is changed for human, but we never see it or try to understand. we just keep ourselves in the typical flow to meet our end eventually.*
Loved it back then, and now 50 years later still rockin.

What a GREAT song by Roger Hodgson !!! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
History will record that Hodgson was is one of the best singers ever. His voice is pure gold.
But, does he know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior? That is the real question for any of us because Eternity is a very very very very long time. Where will you spend it... smoking or non-smoking. We all deserve hell.
@@JohnSmith-uy7sv Between the thousands of other religions and self-contradicting denominations of Christianity making "claims", I think you're the one who needs help
@@99certain45 Yes, that is why God had to send his only Son to die on a cross to save me from my sins. I deserve hell.
@@99certain45 I only hope you do not celebrate Christ mas or Easter or Thanksgiving.
@@99certain45 If there is nothing after we die then we Christians are only fools and wasting our time but will end up like the rest of the non believers....in dust. However if we are correct and Jesus Christ did die on a cross to save us from our sins and you did not accept his free gift of Salvation, then you have lost everything because eternity is a long long long long time swimming in a lake burning with fire and sulpher. I'm not a gambler. Are you?
If you can listen to this without singing along, there's something wrong with you.Roger Hodgson hits those high notes like nobody's business!
i just did! sing along that is! hahahaha!
Höre ich mir immer wieder an!! Paßt auch gut in die heutige
verrückte Zeit.Toller Song!!
Boy the voice has held up well. Sounds exactly the same !!!
Wow, 35 years or so later, and he can still belt out a song like it was made yesterday, marvellous!
I love this song, bin 78years old, my best song for my hard, i love Rogder Songs!
plus the song is still so relevant!
Lyrics are amazing, but the instrumental, the score, it pierces my body.
Every note enters my body and sets it ablaze. It's pure bliss.
Although the song needed more Cowbells.... the band still sounds just as good all these years later. This is one of my all-time favorite songs. Thank you Roger for the music. Sincerely, from New York City
David
Yes they do sound just as good! But honestly, there's NO way that I could even begin to pick my favorite Supertramp (Roger Hodgson) song!!! There are SO MANY GREATS!!!
@@geralddutcher3662 Breakfast in America and School are my favorites
holy crap the lyrics to this song. He captured the difference between who you are and who you are expected to be. There is a quote I read somewhere that said "When I was young I thought about art and philosophy. Now I am 35 and all I think about is money."
WTH! His voice is still the same!? Amazing talent!
I was born in 67 and grew up with your music, this is my favourite. Thank you so much

Maravilhosa banda !
This is 1 of those songs that when you first hear it, it speaks to you and makes so much sense. A great, classic track.
Still fresh after all this time and just like nothing else. What a voice!
All these years and still sounds just the same, takes me back to the 80's, what a voice
One of the few artists who sound better live than on a CD or LP. Simply brilliant

Super-Talented. This is a masterpiece. Goes in my top 10 songs of all-time.
What’s your other best nine?
Love Supertramp 💕
I was 20 and in the Air Force stationed in England, when this came out. Put ALOT of quarters in the jukebox in the NCO Club after work, to hear this song!
Wooowww!! It gives chills! 😍😍😍 ¡Magistral!
Wish I was there moment.
I'm saying this you are a part of my past, I love your hit songs from my past. Don't you ever give up regardless of what life throws or dumps on you !
yes you are the one ❤
The words in Supertramp songs often cause deep introspection.
Ilove
Nadie aplaude, nadie canta.... Grande Roger!!
I will never get tired of it... it's so beautiful
I didn't recognize Rodger from his earlier days. You can tell he absolutley Loves his Art. A Musical Genius! Thanks for all the great songs, Roger!
Supertramp was probably the best Live Performing Band Ever. Their performance is exactly as they recorded it. I love that. Roger that!
THAT SONG must represent humanity in its best form !!
Maybe worse form...
@@joserubensmedeiros1610 I was talking about the music itself, not the message of the lyrics. It is very sad actually..
Roger Hodgson. Unique voice, unique writing skills and unique performer. One of the underrated, great artist's, both then and now.
Forever Roger. Much better than the shite that is mass produced today.
Over 40 years, and it's just now that we're learning the true meaning of this song.
nothing makes me admire an entertainer more than one who can make it's hit sound exactly the same ...... live ...... repetitiously
Perfect musica!
Roger you are the best😲😲😲😲

Some voices are just so distinguishable........Geddy Lee, Jon Anderson.........Roger Hodgson. This man was and still is an absolute musical genius. I have so longed for Tramp to reunite. There's no price I wouldn't pay to see him.....them.

I love this song by Roger Hodgson !!!
I love this song!! Love Roger’s amazing vocal range too!
There are maybe 50 songs that, through the last 67 years (okay, since I was 15 - so 52 years) have helped me survive. That have helped to explain to myself what I was feeling; what I was going through. This is one of them.
Just heard this song on the film "Try Harder". Remembering over 40 years ago in high school.
Absolutely outstanding. He sounds great!!! the band sounds great!!!!
When I was young
It seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle
Oh, it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees
Well they'd be singing so happily
Oh, joyfully
Oh, playfully, watching me
But then they sent me away
To teach me how to be sensible
Logical
Oh responsible, practical
And they showed me a world
Where I could be so dependable
Oh, clinical
Oh, intellectual, cynical
There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep
For such a simple man
Won't you, please, please, tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am
Now watch what you say
Or they'll be calling you a radical
A liberal
Oh fanatical, criminal
Oh, won't you sign up your name?
We'd like to feel you're acceptable
Respectable
Oh presentable, a vegetable
But at night, when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep
For such a simple man
Won't you please (won't you tell me?)
Please tell me what we've learned? (can you hear me?)
I know it sounds absurd
Please tell me who I am
Who I am
Who I am
Who I am
Who I am
'Cause I'm feeling so illogical

What a sound !!!
Thank you, Roger, for taking me back to my High School years, full of emotions and a new beginning.
Pretty amazing how you reproduce this same sound and beauty, with your same voice, still incredibly high, but with yet ever so more energy!
What a positive and nice citizen of our world with a great, simple and heartfelt musical message in these difficult times.
Thanks, Roger, and sing on!!
