Learning to get through the Skull Cavern is one of Stardew Valley's first big challenges. I've made a little guide to get you going! The only thing you need to know is that this isn't some easy task you can just walk into unprepared, you'll need a plan.

Another useful tip: you don't lose items if you pass out. Items are only lost when your health reaches 0, which means it's more beneficial to stay in the caverns until 2 am. The largest fine you can get is 1000 g. If you already have coops and barns set up that price is basically already covered
I'd just place stairs down without combat
When my health does reach 0, I usually just restart the day rather than lose important items. It’s far more time efficient than trying to get new supplies or wait to get them from the guys at the adventurers guild.
@merp_p🐸 you “died” then, they meant when you pass out due to time reaching 2am
1000g is the best option.
@merp_p🐸 the only thing you lose is gold when you pass out from exhaustion. you only lose items when your health hits zero
Oh thank god, someone who doesn't assume I have an endless pile of iridium sitting around or have already gotten to ginger island. I poked my head into the skull caverns for the first time and got instantly murdered :(
As did we all, my friend. As did we all. Those serpents …
sameeeee
no me too i've only ever made it to floor two bc i dont know what im doing lmao
Exactly why I love his videos
Also: If you can manage to kill 1000 slimes, the Adventurer's Guild will give you a ring which will completely eradicate slime damage and effects. If you get this ring, absolutely bring it with you. That slime debuf has gotten me killed So. Many. Times.
Okay so farm slimes on bad luck days in the normal mines to get ring. Got it!
I'm playing on mobile autoattack, slimes are the worst enemy
I always farm slimes for the ring in the ice mines coz I can also farm the sprites for coal too
Don't even attempt to fight those big fat slimes. I just sneak pass them all the time. You will be wasting a ton of time to try to kill them. By the time you killed one of them, the serpents will come.
@@trumplostlol3007except using the slime ring and going Anakin Skywalker on the slime babies has good odds of one of them making a staircase
The only issue with using staircases is Qi basically accuses the player of cheating when you meet him on floor 100 when you use them, but you still get the reward.
Does this method change anything in the game?
@@sergantpig9932 Not really. You still get the reward. The only thing that changes is the dialog. Qi will say you're clever but not honorable for using staircases.
@@limiTraveler my friend told me that he calls you a scumbag for doing it
@@limiTraveler, Qi can go pound sand in a rat hole. If using stairs makes it easier to get to the bottom in the time allowed, that's what I'm doing.
LMAO yeah i was honestly surprised when he called me out on it bc of course i sneaked my way down with staircases, i can barely make it beyond floor 50 at the moment, mind your own business Qi 🤣🤣
For anyone wondering, Qi only gets mad if you use 10 staircases so might as well bring nine to avoid any infested floors or just horrible ones
Bro's mad at us for working smart
@@8AKI47 he was a little sad but said it still took a long time to mine that stone
i went go big or go home and used 95
@@isaac922 I used a fuck ton of stone and jade
I managed my way down there using only 2 to skip the dinosaur floors lol
I appreciate the work you did for the teleport edit.
Thanks I've been thinking about how to make it for like a month lol
I second that!
And Walk Like an Egyptian was right on the spot!! 👏👏👏👏👏 Kudos
@@salmence100 travelling to a place with hot climate is a jojo reference
@@salmence100 The JoJo OP was an amazing choice for the desert lol
The first time I played SDV and got to the Skull Caven, I was scared and did not want to EVER step back into it. After watching this video I can say I reached level 50! haha not that far down but it's better than nothing. Thank you so much for this video!
saaaaaame! too much stress! I play to unwind. but I am saving up bombs and staircases, because whenever I enter again, I just want to go straight thru the first time and I truly do not care if Qi scolds, can give two figs about that, lol
Agreed, it was terrifying, and then i realized gold cheese basically heals up all health at once and i could buy up tooons of bombs from dwarf. Also meant when I entered w no gold I wouldn't get penalized from passing out there loool
But i did often buy too many and then had to sell something to pierre to get bus money lol
@@millienexu5684 I finally made it to Floor 100! Used lots of staircases! and I had my daughter as my wingwoman, keeping an eye on my health, so I remembered to eat, and noticing shafts and special nodes. She SAVED me; could not have done it without her watching. Then, she went on to help me get to the Forge, too! Yayyy! Except, I forgot to push the "always open shortcut" in the Forge, so I have to do that again, but ah well, I need many more cinder shards, anyway! Also, YES, gold cheese is the WAY! And many many bombs. It's good to carry the tiny ones, too, so you don't take too many damage when you just need to clear a small space and don't have room to move far.
Yup, I still haven't gotten to floor 25! watching this video is making it less impossible. also I really need that slime ring! urgg
Serpents drop them too if you want to save money@@millienexu5684
imo, the slime charmer ring makes life 10 times easier in the skull mine. Those slimes hit hard and it's so nice being completely invincible to them.
oh hell yeah I'm almost there from a bunch of fruitless prismatic slime runs; thank you for the tip
That "Walk like an Egyptian" clip was delightful
Napalm ring + slime charmer ring changed my life in the skull caverns. Everytime I defeat an enemy they act like a bomb and blow up the rocks beside them, and I can easily find holes and ladders. Napalm ring + slime charmer and Iridium band + Burglar is my go to
I agree but replace slime with hot Java
Ohh nice I may use this plan for when I enchant my rings thank you ❤️
Napalm, Slime, Iridium, Hot java
I love the napalm ring. A good thing about it is that it blows up the Iridium Crabs around you as well (just like a usual bomb), which allows you to kill them faster
Iridium band and lucky ring combined and slime charmer ring
[EDIT]: This bug has been fixed already so don't worry!!
Just a tip for those who want to get to floor 100 to complete MR. Qi's quest, from personal experience:
If you're very close to reaching floor 100, avoid jumping into holes, use stairs or staircases instead. If you accidently end up on floor 101 or higher, you won't complete the quest.
I had spent a long time trying to reach it on my first farm (only using staircases to avoid infested rooms), and when I made it to floor 97 or 98 I got SUPER excited, then hopped into a hole and fell down around 6 leves.
It took me MONTHS to actually complete the challenge after that mistake lol
omg this comment saved me, i rely on holes too much lol. if that happened to me i wouldve abandoned the game fr
This didnt happen to me, skipped to floor 106 and still got it. But I play co-op on console though so who knows 🤷♂️
@@skyellama8374 interesting... perhaps this was fixed on a newer patch as well, if I am not mistaken this happened to me around 2020
This is fixed now!
@@pikatsyu8440 oh okay, thanks for letting me know! :)
i feel like every other tutorial I watched was asking too much like they wanted me to be a pro already and it was so frustrating. thank you for a beginner friendly tutorial
You do not actually have to bring the farm totem because if you pass out due to time, you do not lose items. You only take the energy penalty and 1k gold max
but always good to have one if you are abt to be killed due to health and have no food left
@@raeleohana8797,IMHO, death due of health loss occurs suddenly enough to not use a warp totem
great useful video, i'm definitely going to consider the pumpkin soup tip. the only suggestion i would make is that you don't really need the mega bomb, the big red one. they're only useful if you're on a floor with a huge open floor plan and even then it's kinda overkill. the cherry bomb and the regular 600g bomb are perfect for a skull cavern run, many of the floors are narrow areas or the amount of rocks in an area are not worth the mega bomb.
I agree about the bombs, that’s why I showed a run with no mega bombs! I should’ve made it more clear in the commentary
Thank you that’s very helpful :D ❤️
I agree with you regarding the bombs. The only situations where I think it's actually worth it using mega bombs are on the mummies star-shaped levels and the big round cave ones. But they do not appear as often to make it worth buying a huge stash. I usually like to take 5 - 10 Mega bombs with me if I have the money for it.
@@julialuzs where can you buy bombs for money?!?!
@@paigecraig8245 There is a purple rock to the right of the entrance of the caves, and if you blow it (using any bomb or atleast a steel pickaxe), you'll be able to access the Dwarf shop. But you'll only unlock the shop after you found all 4 Dwarf Scrolls artifacts (usually found on the mines by killing monsters or tilling soil with the hoe), because otherwise you won't be able to translate the Dwarf's language.
I would never have reached the 100th floor without this video, so THANK YOU! Five crystalariums churning out jade had me over 100 staircases in no time. I never even left the ladder area and was done by 10am with nearly all my health. Only on one floor did I have to hit a rock to make room for the staircase.
Also crystallariums can be used to get quartz which 5 quartz = the medium bomb at the desert trader.
it's easier to just farm coal and iron ore
Just dupe jades and buy staircases
Newer player here and highly suggest for the first method still bringing 5 or so staircases. Even on the highest luck days Random is Random. Got hit with back to back infestation and prehistoric floors that killed my runs.I most likely an outlier of bad-good luck but being over prepared is better than underprepared.
I agree, some days you just break EVERY rock, kill EVERY monster, and the game pity gifts you a way down. yeah....a few staircases, is a good plan.
There are also some floor patterns that waste a lot of time, and should be bypassed even if you're trying to be 'honorable'.
I personally love the Phoenix ring and it has saved my butt multiple times. Once you reach your lowest point of health you will regain half of your health, I would recommend for those who end up dying a lot.
You have saved my ass at least once
I have tbe glowstone ring and the 10 percent critical hit ring with the galaxy sword i just got
Which do i swap?
@@paigecraig8245 If you have the forge unlocked you can combine rings together, if not then maybe the replace the crit ring, you kinda need the magnetization
I had no idea this existed… well I guess now I know what’s gonna save me and my girlfriend on our shared server XD
If you already have phoenix ring then you probably have already unlocked the forge, at that point reaching floor 100 & beyond in skull cavern is pretty easy without that. Personally I think phoenix ring is best used during Qi's hungry challenge (idr the exact name) since you aren't allowed to eat or drink anything.
for a food item, if you took the mushroom cave i definitely recommend bringing life elixirs, purple mushrooms, or if neither of those are viable then common mushrooms (since you probably build up a bunch of them by year 2 ish)
I know everyone thinks panning is useless, but if you live on a river farm you pan all the time. I also see quite a bit of panning spots on ginger island. So that's a good way to find the luck ring. If you really want to.
tbh u can get the lucky ring with the drop of enemies too xD
@@tamamichan1431 Literally got the lucky ring from an enemy drop yesterday, I was very pleasantly surprised
Panning usually sucks for me but on Ginger Island it gave me some good items. Especially on the River near the digging site.
Panning on a good luck day is very worthwhile. I've gotten lucky rings at least twice just by panning on my own farm. If you hang out in the dig spot on Ginger Island for a while on a lucky day you're almost guaranteed to get a lucky ring. Usually the drop is a diamond, some high value ore, and the lucky ring all together. Also, I hear that the same panning spot will yield the same results every time on the same day.
hitting every box and barrels with sword in the skull caveren is a good way to get them too i got two this way(i might be lucky)
I've sunk so many hours into Stardew Valley, and fishing the legendary fishes and Skull Caverns have always been an extremely difficult thing for me to do. I am SO GLAD that I have these guides! Now I regularly run Skull Caverns whenever I want to find Prismatic Shards, and I no longer fear going down!
pacifist route stan here, boutta go make as many crystalariums as possible
I'm the guy who just found this channel the other day, and I'm seriously impressed! I love your clear, calm narration. No wasting time with filler or preamble, no screaming or freaking out about everything: just information with a little bit of humor to liven things up. Keep doing what you're doing, man.
6:18 Yup, I haven't been using pumpkin soup! lol
9:13 That is the best transition I've ever seen! "oh ey oh!"
(insert jojo reference)
If speed is your main concern, I recommend the Crab Cakes and coffee/espresso as food buffs, especially if you are easily overwhelmed during combat: one Crab Cake will give you a +1 Speed and +1 Defense buff, and will pretty much last the entire day, so that's one less thing to worry about renewing during your run. Add the Triple Shot Espresso to that (lasts longer than the coffee) and you have a pretty good shot at getting some distance from enemies, as well as covering the floor more quickly.
Also for the non-buff food, I highly recommend cheese, especially the gold quality--one or two can get your health up FAST, which is very helpful if you are getting swarmed. There is always that fraction of a second between consuming each food item where the enemies within reach can damage you.
Other than that, this video pretty much covers everything--well done!
When do you get the recipe
For crab cakes? I’m on year 4 and 150 hours in and still don’t have it 🤦🏼
@@leahkent4057 you get it from queen of sauce in year 2 of fall.... lol
I just got my recipe today on one of my newer saves
@@leahkent4057 you’re going to need to watch re runs to get it
@@leahkent4057 It's one of the Queen of Sauce recipes. It first appears on Fall 21, year 2. After the second year, all the recipes repeat on Sundays, I believe. Unfortunately, I do not know of any way to get it if you missed it the first time other than keep watching Queen of Sauce. It will eventually be shown again.
crab cakes also drop from iridium crabs in the skull mines
if you have enough rubies trading them with spicy eel is nice too it gives speed buff and luck
literally the first serpent i killed gave me a prismatic shard and so naturally i went straight for the sword. the next day as i was showing off to my friend over discord (who hasnt gotten a single shard yet, and shes been playing for longer than me) i got another one from killing a regular ass slime. i felt like the king of stardew for a second with that luck lmao
I used to always rewatch your lets play episodes when you go into the mines as a sort of "guide" on how I could do the mines too, so I'm excited to get a formal guide from you! Pumpkin soup really is an underrated food item
Glad it could help! I always planned to do a cavern guide since I started, it was very hard to explain on the go!
Thank you so much !!! I never knew the desert guy only sold staircases on Sunday’s 🙃 I’m trying to find a prismatic chard and I have yet to come across one 😭 I’ve only been the skull cavern once but watching this really helped me thank you 🙏🏼
Update: I finally found 2 prismatic shards a little before level 100 (I think I was in level 90's) and I'm SO HAPPY
yayyy glad you found some!
Don't sleep on Galaxy Dagger because when the special attack is used accurately, it oneshot kills the annoying enemies like slimes and flying eels without allowing them to float around you, saving a ton of time swapping and dancing around your pickaxe, bombs and explosive ammos back to your weapons.
Nah
I mean this in the best way possible - this video really feels like a Blade video for non-code things. You've made something that's equally informative, entertaining, and chill. Absolutely subbing!!! Keep up the good work :)
Don't forget to check those treasure chests. Those treasure chest floors don't usually produce monsters and if you didn't choose the Joja route then that's the only way you will find the auto-petters.
Fun thing I learnt is that you can place the bear statue and the standing geode from your museum collection rewards in her path (one on each screen) and she will get to the bus by 9:30-40 instead. Not much of a time save but it's better than before, and you no longer have to stand there yourself
After doing this few times, I'm so glad for the skull cavern elevator mod. No more crazy prep just for some iridium
that's just cheating lmao
@@sanantonio855If it makes the game more fun for them then who cares?
@@Toon_Topaz Sure, but the skull cavern is the only actually challenging aspect of the game that requires preparation and taking that away would ruin the thrill completely imo.
IMHO, this mod is not necessary. It is not so difficult to accumulate 200 staircases from crystallariums, and a run in which these 200 staircases will be used will bring at least 400 iridium, which is enough for a very long time
„I can sum it up it one word: Staircases. … NOW I‘LL USE A FEW MORE WORDS!“ That was executed greatly! 🤣
And the guide is really good and helpful.
I like to use the slime ring, which makes you invincible to any slime, so you don't have to warry about them. plus that with the iridium band.
Napalm + Slime charmer = cluster bombs
Omg thank you so much- each time i set foot in skull cavern I died immediately, this is so helpful
There's a great Reddit thread about reaching floor 100 which worked for me first time and I only used 2 staircases.
- Iridium band is recommended and a choice of whatever other ring you want. I also had the Cinderclown shoes and Dragontooth Cutlass from the Volcano.
- Wait until 28th Spring in Year 2 for the Lucky Lunch, easy to cook and gives +3 Luck. Obviously don't take any other food with buffs, I took about 30 Iridium/Gold quality cheese for health which was plenty.
- Go on only the highest luck day (where the fortune teller holds a stardrop)
- You absolutely want to teleport to the desert first thing in the morning, your animals can deal with not being petted for a day.
- Keep going until 2am, you won't lose any items as long as you don't get killed. If it gets too late and you don't think you can make it, restart the day. Otherwise you'll be waiting a while to get a good luck day and you likely won't have the resources that you had on your first attempt.
- I didn't go until Fall of Year 2 at which point I had a lot of spare cash lying around, so I took about 80 mega bombs - you likely will not really need anywhere near this much but it's always better to take more than you need as it takes the pressure off (and you'll probably want to repeat this again for one of Qi's walnut room challenges)
- Lastly, don't focus on killing enemies or getting iridium, when you get to floor 100 by blowing up a tonne of stones you'll have absolutely plenty. Again, I didn't actively mine or look for Iridium or anything else, but still ended up with about 150 Iridium ore once I got to floor 100.
this is a phenomenal video!!! i have upwards of 500 hours in this game and still learned from this, great stuff!!!
Excellent Advice!!! I've had a lot of trouble getting iridium. took some steps mentioned in the vid as far as inventory organization and it worked like a charm!
I just started playing Stardew recently and this is absolutely the best guide to the Skull Caverns I've seen. Every single other of dozens I've watched only recommended items I couldn't obtain yet.
When walk like an Egyptian my brother looked up at me with a star struck face. I also really love the video! I just unlocked the skull caverns and they look scary so this will help me out a lot thank you!!
This is amazingly handy! I just gave up with the skull cavern and haven't returned to Stardew in a while. This makes me want to go back and try again
Best guide ive seen so far, straight to the point and easy to understand. 10/10
Thank you for the guide! Ive been avoiding going into the skull cavern because it's definitely intimidating, but i should be okay with your guide! Appreciate it
This is a really high quality video! You went in depth and put a lot of effort into making this. The content’s good, the editing’s good, the whole video’s good! Great job and thank you for the help. My favorite part is that you thought to only use pre-Skull Cavern materials and weapons. Many others wouldn’t consider that. Thank you and keep it up!
This video is completely brilliant, and kudos to the whole Indiana Jones vibe for the teleporting to the desert. Love it! Thanks for a very entertaining and extremely helpful video
liked and subbed!
your tips are waaaay better than most of the shorts i have seen over and over again!
this is honestly such a helpful guide, i’m five years into a save that i’ve been playing on since around 2021 and i just saved up stone to be able to waltz straight to the bottom, possibly the most inefficient way but this guide must help newer players so much
I got the Lucky Ring from breaking a barrel in the Skull Cavern. I guess I must be lucky.
It's so worth it to grind to the slimer charmer ring. I know it's super late game but the Iridium band + slime charmer combined ring is a God tier ring 👌👌
I’ve been playing for about 5 years and know this stuff, but I appreciate a new perspective and am always looking for any new info to keep it interesting. Very informative video 👍👍
thank you!! it's an incredibly good video, not just the tips themselves, but the way you present information - easy to get the message quickly and remember the important parts cuz they are all shown clearly and talked through. you have an eye for neatly organising information you want to present!))
When I first started playing, I had no idea what a Prismatic Shard was! I actually managed to get one on the first day that I unlocked the Quarry and was like, "Nice rainbow rock" and immediately donated it to Gunther.
Now, on my second playthrough, I still haven't found one yet.
ohhhhh myyyy gawwwwwd :O
Left you a like bro, i appreciate the time and the dedication you put into this video, it doesn't seem easy at all to put this together due to how random these caves can be xD.
Awesome! Well edited and narrated, thank you!
This is one of the first videos I've found and certainly not the last, yall sleeping on pumpkin soup AND I WAS and now I'm obsessed with it! I appreciate you're dedication to the vid, they've certainly helped me soo much, thank you!
I love using the pacifist method to hunt for treasure rooms, I got so many free iridium sprinklers and 5 autopetters out of about 400 staircases, very useful if you're looking especially for treasure rooms because it maximises your time (no time wasted with blowing up rocks/killing enemy's= going down more floors giving you more chances of getting treasure rooms)
"This floor just feels racist" 💀💀
Having just recently gotten into Stardew (late to the party is my MO), this was very helpful! Thanks, Salmence.
Serpents indeed !!! This is a great tutorial ; straight to the point and VERY informative. Thanks.
Another good drop of the Iridium Bats is battery packs. Yes you can get them from other methods, but doesn't hurt especially when trying to craft crystalariums
Another thing i'd suggest is (although it seems obvious in hindsight) don't waste bombs on rocks that only take 1 hit if you cant afford to. 5 or 6 swings doesnt use too much energy and bombs arent too easy to get unless you're early mid-game. Idk how everyone else feels about this but its something that has saved me a lot of materials.
Yeah. Bombs are great for ores that take multiple pick swings. Huge time saver on iridium ores and when there's a bunch of gold in one place.
Also quite useful for taking out rocks before the pickaxe is iridium quality. And also essential in late game for dangerous mine runs.
This was a great, succinct video. Love the three options. Straight to the point and so helpful! Thanks.
this is the best guide on skull caverns. i watched 10's of them but none of them was good as this.

The sword for normal attacks.
Thanks for all the tips!! I've got plenty of iridium thanks to the Statue from grandpa....but I always forget the staircases! Going to have to start remembering them.
I have NEVER seen the moonstone ring till my latest play-through...and somehow I have found TWO!!
Even as someone with 400+ hours in Stardew Valley, this video was super helpful! ❤
Managed to get to floor 125 on my second go, thanks for the great guide, it helped a lot!
THANK YOU.
I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH!!
I've been struggling, so thank you for this!!!
Got the burglar ring early from farming coal on the dust sprites, and I mainly play Stardew for the spelunking, so I had a massive reservoir of gold and essences to craft into 200 megabombs when I finally fixed the bus
On my first run ever of the skull cavern, I got a lucky ring, and got to floor 96, then I blew myself up on accident bc I was rushing and restarted the day and tried again. I didnt know at the time how rare lucky rings were, and I have hated myself ever since lol
How do you get the lucky ting
@@jude_bv4579 It's a rare drop inside skull cavern or by panning.
rhe teleport edit was perfect, and as someone really trying to dig deep into this cavern, i will be taking this and rewatching til i get everything memorize lol
I love my Slime Ring. You also mentioned respeccing combat in a short to boost your defense. I think those are good additions to the advice given here.
this is EXACTLY what i needed! I havent done much of the skull cavern to be honest, other then the pacifist route to get to Mr. Qi.
I actually got my statue of perfection a while before i ventured at all into he skull cavern so i do in fact have a bunch of iridium already. I just wan to explore it now i guess :D Also dino eggs sound GREAT to have.
Thanks so much!! This'll be a big help :}
Those pepper rexes don't play around 😂I encountered them for the first time a few days ago myself.
Last I knew, it's still possible to get multiple statues of perfection for mucho iridium.
You need a stack of something which will fill your inventory when divided.
First, you place down your statue of perfection but far enough away from the shrine that you won't attract it into your inventory.
Next, you divide the stackable item to fill your inventory.
You then hit the statue of perfection so that it drops, but you don't pick it up (because your inventory is full).
Go over to the shrine and re-stack one of the stackable items to give you a space in your inventory.
Use the shrine again and you'll get another statue of perfection.
You can repeat this by repeating the procedure of placing down all the statues, filling up your inventory, hitting all the statues so that they drop and so on.
I generally stop making new statues after 8 or so, but you can continue for as long as you have space to put them down.
It was a extreme luck day, had like 50 mushrooms, steel falchion and a ton of bombs and stairs, i even ate a lucky lunch before entering
Literally the first floor when i came down 5 serpents rushed at me essentially insta killing me and my should-be floor 100 run
Thats why i looked up a guide
oh. my. gosh. and on a good luck day! man, that cavern is brutal.
This is going to be super useful for me! Thanks so much!
I have some good rings(including slime charmer) but I have still struggled on each of my trips. I have too much pride to use the staircase method lol
Nice Bangles insert! You’re my new favourite Star-Dewtuber! Hats off, Sal!
A slight correction to lava bats. They will only appear on floor 20 and 40, and not in all room types.
This makes them very rare to find. But I have seen them.
I would not advise eating Starfruit for energy.
😂 This is a lifesaver for the Skull cavern I was not looking forward to it, but your video has helped me get an idea for prep. Thank you 🎉
the production value on this video is off the charts! Well done lad
nice guide will definitely try the staircase way. didn't know that the desert merchant sold them on sundays. nice vid and thanks for the help.
Crab cakes are more preferable when encountering monsters def and speed for 16 mins.
And super cucumber for restoration of health and energy, they can be fished in the summer 6pm to 2am.
Got it on my second try after this video and you are now my go to stardew UA-camr to watch thank you
Your editing was amazing 👏 👏👏
Cheese is the best imo. If you get large milk silver to gold stars it turns cheese to gold star which is very beneficial to health and energy. Not to mention its renewable daily
There's a glitch to get the galaxy sword with a wallpaper because it has the same item id or something. Also the galaxy hammer is so op because of spamming left-click during the special ability animation, which isn't a glitch according to CA. Passing out at 2am also isn't much of an issue as u only lose up to 1000 gold and 1/2 of your energy, which isn't much
Sadly that glitch with the sword has been confirmed to be fixed ☹️
This was helpful and entertaining! Thank you.
Structurized and detailed info, great video. You gained a new sub there, bud
Might be helpful to note that having your home totem in the starting line might cause you to accidentally use it and sent home mid fight :,)
That’s a good idea! So many times K’ve just tried to harvest a crop or machine and I end up teleporting away 😭
You honestly don't need a home totem. You won't lose anything in your inventory if you pass out from timer. You'd just lose money. You should be mining all the way to 2am.
@@stealthxg5045 but for being slain, it's always good to have. i've died this way so many times, when I didnt have enough food left. i'm a terrible fighter
@@salmence100 oh my gosh, this is SO me; many times, even when it's not in the starting position. I can't believe this has even happened to YOU; i've learned so much from you, @salmence100!
I personally fill my greenhouse with Peach Trees and use peaches as my go to healing items. You get tons of them on the daily, and they add up fast if you take a day or two off from running the mines. They are also really great at conserving space in the inventory because unlike other foragables or crops or whatever, they are all going to be the same quality at all times (assuming you planted them all at the same time) so they all go neatly into one stack.
And for traversing the mines quickly, my personal method is setting up a shed full of crystallariums and set all of them to making Jade. You can buy heaps of stairs and just shoot as deep as you want in an instant until you find chests or ore nodes or whatever you're looking for. All you need is like gold, iridium, and batteries I think, and you'll be rolling in iridium and gold, so batteries are really the only bottleneck in production.
Love the The Bangles throw in when you take a trip to the desert, that was fire.
Fantastic video, tysm for sharing this knowledge!
When using sword, always remember to use block. It will deflect those serpents and give you some breathing room. You are all welcome.
I was verrrrrry late to learn this. For others: "Block" is the special secondary skill of the sword weapon (they seem to all have a secondary special move). On my Switch, I implement it by right clicking (A).
I got the strange capsule, a few stone owls a meteor, a crop fairy, but I still can't find a prismatic shard ;(
The post editing and music choice for this video is perfect. Great video
A friend of mine gifted me Stardew Valley around two years ago but I haven't been playing co-op with him lately. I hope to be able to progress Skull Cavern using your guide. Thanks a lot!
All speedrunners and challenge runners prefer spicy eel over pumpkin soup or lucky lunches. They specifically say that luck buff should never come at the cost of speed buffs. Haboo even said in one of his streams that he would 100% pick 1 speed over 7 luck.
Also the best way to go trough skull caverns is to use an explosive ammo slingshot. Its the most mobile and efficient mining tool by far.
Simply put, this isn’t for a speedrun. For a newer player I prioritized dealing with less trouble, both by adding defense and by increasing the chance to find a staircase with less combat, instead of just moving faster. Also spicy eels are just less common to have before the skull cavern.
I’d also argue bombs are more important than explosive ammo, both since ammo only explodes on enemies or walls, and because it’s less common for newer players to use slingshots at all, making it just another thing to learn how to do.
Not fighting, just want to mention that I thought of all of this while making the sets, and these are the reasons I chose things in the order I did.
From what I understand, speedrunners also have a better understanding of how the ladder spawns work, like knowing certain rocks have a low chance of having a ladder and avoiding them. This might be a factor in their preference of 1 speed over more luck, since with that knowledge they'd rather have the speed to reach rocks that are more likely to have ladders faster than just having more luck to "bruteforce" it
