89krx we use UV to sanitize surfaces, not people. We wear sunglasses and sunscreen to protect from UV so why would we damage ourselves with it? I used to regularly go for blue light treatments that definitely worked but it was getting expensive so I think I'm going to give this mask a try

Blue light is much weaker and can kill bacteria because on the scale of how tough certain organisms are, most bacteria fall pretty low on the scale, next to most viruses (which is why they're easily killed by household cleaners or hand sanitizer which is basically alcohol). To fully sanitize and to simply disinfect are hugely different, like washing hands with and then without soap. Water will clean your hands but just not as much compared to soap. IF they used blue light on a surface it would kill a lot, but not nearly enough. It does enough to clean a face but it will never be strong enough for anything else. And speaking from experience, blue light honestly did work for me. This was about a year ago and it was a bigger machine but the same exact concept. The only problem was that it was getting to be expensive and the office was a 45 minute drive on a good day without traffic. Whether or not this mask will do the job I have yet to determine, picked it up today so we'll see. This device is a lot cheaper and adds red light so maybe the added red will offset how much less power it probably has. this is just a good cheap alternative. things like benzoyl peroxide kill more bacteria(i think) but can be really harsh on skin. but the pH balance of skin is a whole other issue i still need to figure out. sorry for the long response

The pores on my nose have gone and my greasy t spot as well. I also reset it with the wire jumper hack and Ive been using it for 6 months-same batteries. I used it once a day until it Elimanated my nose pores. Now I Use it once every 3 days.

It made my face a little sensitive for some reason but it went away after 2 minutes and the lights came on. My acne isn't terrible but it's still not attractive so when I saw this I had to get it. Yet i tried lemon, honey, coconut oil, yet still remains the same and i see no results. If only there's an answer out there...

If this works on serious acne, it will take months to clear up since the bumps are so large they all have to exfoliate for you to have smooth skin, which is ok, however I am not sure if this is safe to use over 60 to 90 days every day???

You don't HAVE to buy a limited use mask. There are several companies selling masks on amazon that last much longer and can reach a higher output level (just read the reviews). Also there is medical research behind these treatments especially blue LED light. I was at the end of the road with my adult acne 32 years old still having break outs. Six different antibiotics, daily BP, Even accutane didn't clear me longer than 6 months (which left me with terrible side effects thanks to my derm pushing a product on me) Derm wanted to put me back on accutane I said HELLLL NO so then she suggested these LED light treatments. "So do they work?" I asked her. She said yes BUT I have to come in 3 times a week for months and insurance doesn't cover it oh and it doesn't clear you forever. LOL no thanks. I'll just get a home use mask on Amazon and not go broke. Been using it for one week. Not totally clear but getting there. I've made real progress. It's better than giving up.
Just do a search on amazon plenty of unlimited use masks. Just get one that plugs into the wall instead of running on batteries. Read the descriptions. eBeauty and AngelKiss are good ones to read.

it works, wash your face before bed then use it daily. only touch the mask with clean hands so no phone usage of the 10 minutes.
