That’s total bs, I wash my face twice a day and drink enough water. My acne has never gone away or improved. It’s gotten worse now in my mid 20s than it was when I was a teenager.

@@veryfungamesawesome Yup. My situation was similar to yours and the only thing that helped was accutane. I even stopped taking the drug way too early and my acne never came back. Some people like us just have bad luck or bad genetics - whatever you'd call it - I would recommend you research and try accutane too.

Acne is a skin disease. I hate it when people brush it aside like it’s not a big deal. I’ve been told my whole teenage life that once I become an adult, my acne will clear up. I’m 21 now and I barely just got rid of it a few months ago. I decided to go to Esthetics school and learn about skin. I learned so much, and I’m still learning to this day. Everyone’s skin is different. Acne is also a genetic thing. Make sure you’re cleansing your face day and night, and at night make sure you’re double cleansing, and using some sort of chemical exfoliator. Acne happens because there is too much build up of oil, bacteria, and dead skin cells. The thing about having acne prone skin is this- your skin naturally is making too many skin cells for your skin to naturally exfoliate itself, so your skin is being blocked with all that nasty stuff! Use either glycolic, lactic, mandelic or salicylic acid to help your skin exfoliate. Don’t use physical exfoliators because these tear open acne and causes all that bacteria to spread around, causing more acne to happen. Also use a vitamin c serum during the day. Keep your routine simple. This is what helped my acne finally go away. Please don’t listen to Instagram/UA-cam influencers. They don’t know your skin. Go see an esthetician that can help customize the right routine for you

@@biba3025 I also have hormonal acne so I know the importance of that internal balance. I’m not a doctor no, but I am a state licensed esthetician that also learned a lot of holistic healing. Hormonal irregularities can cause fluctuations in oil production that can be caused by cortisol the stress hormone and also in an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone. That’s why it’s important to go see both a licensed esthetician and a endocrinologist.

    • @thestrongestbug2452
      @thestrongestbug2452 Рік тому +1

It's not a disease, its just the most visible aspect of an otherwise entirely internal sebum/hormone/insulin issue. If you only used topicals without adjusting your diet, then your acne went away due to your hormones naturally balancing from age. No amount of exfoliating will affect sebum overproduction from inflammation caused by insulin/hormone issues. Switching to a low GI diet and cutting out dairy is enough for most people. If that doesn't work then there's an actual health condition like PCOS for example affecting hormones and you need to see an endocrinologist.

I get hormonal acne - i.e I start getting it just after I ovulate - it gets worse and worse until about halfway though my period. Then it starts to clear up. And it goes like that, every single cycle. I've tried so many things but the only thing that's ever helped is accutane. :(

I think the comment I just typed in this video will help you guys, I'm actually certain it will help, I'll paste below...
I've had horrible cystic acne since I was 14, I'm now 34. I have learned how to manage it so I stay 99% clear at all times. If I stop doing this, it comes back. We're all different, but here's what I do/take.
Vitamin A, 25,000 iu per day (yes it's a high dose, it works for me)
Vitamin D3, 5,000 iu per day
      Magnesium Citrate, 500mg per day
DON'T EAT: (in order of how bad they cause acne in ME)
      Coconut
      Beer
      Milk
      Sugary Drinks
      Danish / cakes / buns
      DO EAT:
Mostly anything else I want, eating bread, pizza etc has no bad effect on my skin at all.
My diet is mostly meat, eggs, oats, vegetables, salads and bread. I make mostly healthy choices, but I don't begrudge myself a pizza, or burger and fries whenever I feel like it. The 80 / 20 rule applies.
      Washes and topical treatments:
I wash my face, back and chest every day with a 10% benzoyl peroxide bar soap.
Once or twice per week I apply 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel to my face.
Over the past 2 decades I have suffered with some of the worst, most painful cystic acne I have ever seen on anyone, the above routine absolutely ends it.

+Freya Smith I've been there. Cut out refined sugar and caffeine, trust me it will have an effect on your skin. Next you need to get a blood test because you could easily be deficient. I found out I was low in Vitamin D, Magnesium, and Iron. Something I'm going to start trying this weekend that was recommended by a friend is going to the steam room at the pool. Apparently it really helped her skin and she has completely clear skin so I'm going to at least try it. gluck, acne sucks but I promise if you improve your health it will have an effect.

The *main* cause of one's acne is one's skin and/or gut (internal) problems. Someone is just more fortunate than other to not have a weakened general/gut health...
It's *definitely* not about "touching your face with your hands, not perfectly clean pillow etc. other such bullshit", a healthy skin can and will handle those kind of things - the problem is *internal*...

Now every day before taking a shower I make myself a far mask with 1tsp of like warm water and 1tsp baking soda.. Rub it gently on my face .. Leave it for 15min flash it off.. 2 weeks later my whole face acne FREE!!!

I agree with you Jenna. It really highly depends on each persons biochemistry. Like myself for instance, I can consume RAW coconut oil, but I have a topical skin allergy since its derived from a "nut" so for skin use I have to use refined only. And I also only use cold press organic oils as they are filtered for a pure product over conventional oils. I personally use a combo of tea tree oils, fragrance free Aquaphor SPF face(it has latic and glycolic acids AHAs) and mix with pure aloe gel for moisturization. I likewise use it as a deorderaunt. And I'm highly dis satisfied with this episode. I expected more brilliant reasons. 😑😑😑I've always washed my pillows and change my pillow sheets daily as I already knew the oils from face, hair, etc xfer and for my respiratory reasons too.

Thanks Dr. Oz that is why I made my own products. There is so much out there that is horrible for our skin and it's mostly due to the products we as women apply. The best advice I can give is getting down to simple ingredients (a small ingredient list is better) and like you said finding something that will not clog pores. I found adding Vitamin B3 in my product has added so much benefit in controlling oil production and shrinking pore size which in long term has helped fight of any adult acne.

The REAL reasons you have acne:
    1. Meat and diary products. Diary is especially bad for causing acne very quickly.
    2. Oil in your food. I know it's very VERY difficult but stop eating food with any oil whatsoever but this is a major cause.
    3. Gluten intolerance. Stop eating bread that either has gluten in it OR hasn't been cultured for at least 6 hours before baked (which breaks down the gluten naturally)
    Enjoy clear skin :)

Everytime i washed my bed sheets and my pillow and the next day i woke up my face didnt even have one pimple and i noticed that everytime i went to the club and i only slept for like 2-3 hours and the next day i woke up i didnt have any pimples either. This helps alot not touching the face helps too and the biggest thing is eating 100% non processed food... thats the best thing you can do you'll get the clearest skin you ever had in your life i speak from personal experience :)

I got rid of like 90% of my acne by cutting out refined sugar and coffee. I actually wash my pillow once a month but I never thought about it causing acne before I just always thought it was gross. I'm going to be trying out either the steam rooms or saunas starting this weekend too. I've decided to completely cut out bread and milk which will be easy because I rarely eat those. Also make sure you guys aren't deficient in things, I found out I'm deficient in vitamin D, magnesium and iron!

The number one cause for acne is your diet... stay away from dairy products for a bit and load up on water... even lower your animal protein and then see the difference on only 1 to 2 weeks... in most case you can see an improvement in a few days. Surprised that this was not mentioned in the video above.

I just learned fruit too. I'm pregs and trying to stay healthy and not eat junk, I was going to town on fruit. then my cousin asked me, "how much fruit?" and when I told her she replied, "its the fruit. all that acid from oranges, pineapple and lemon water is making your acne worse." she was right. I cut back. though I still struggle with it being pregs, it is 50xs better.

I'm going to every acne video possible to say that rose water saved my skin and that y'all should try it, it's not expensive and it could be very worth it. I use a normal facewash, then use rosewater as a toner with no cotton pads - just hands, patting it in - and then a normal, non-greasy moisteriser.
