    Just subbed. I’m really pumped watching your vids because it’s helping to get me prepped for working on my Cobra. I have a white ‘97 as well! Mostly stock- 3.73’s, Flowmaster catback, and a B&M Ripper shifter.

    I have the same gauge holder in the din but am installing some autometer gauges. I have a instrument gauge bezel that will fit 2 more gauges as well as a steering column gauge holder. My big problem is trying to find a place in the firewall to run these wires through. Please note these are mechanical gauges and I also need to run a 4 gauge cable from my trunk mounted amp through the firewall. Thanks for the help!!! Ohhhh it's for a 1998 Mustang Cobra

      Ill be honest the move is to look for an existing spot where you can sneak another wire through. If you cant find a good one then i recommend drilling a new hole and using a grommet to protect the wire from chafing

    I really like this set-up. Could you list the items needed for the gauge set up. Thx

      abcfisher1 so the gauges i got from Prosport directly off their site. They are the JDM series and come with the gauges, sending units, wiring, etc. For the pod itself you can go to LMR. Let me find the link

    Where did you route your cables for the gauges through the firewall?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  Рік тому

      Yea you either have to find an existing penetration or drill and use a grommet

    SO which wire triggers the Mach 460 Amps? I am installing an aftermarket radio and was told I needed a 12v to 5v step down resistor. I have the exact same Metra power wire plug and then the 4 RCA jacks with the 8pins.

      To be honest I have since sold the car and am not sure. I would highly recommend calling crutchfield or hopping onto their website and Im sure you can find the answer from their install instructions.

    Great video. You mentioned the amp square plug but when you installed you didn't show it. Does that replace all the extra speaker wires from the factory plug? At minute mark 5:40 you took some wires out is this due to the amp plug? Thanks!

      Im really sorry its been a while and I did a more recent install in another vehicle so its all running together. This car did not have a factory amp as I recall so likely it was unused. Sorry i couldnt be of more help

      @@truckandroll989 wow thanks for the response so quickly. I was surprised because it was so long ago and figured you wouldn't see it. I am going to keep tinkering with it, I suspect you removed the extra wires because they were not needed due to the amp. My son just bought a 1998 and we are slowly fixing it up, looks like you sold yours and upgraded, super cool!! Thanks for the response and videos I look forward to watching more.

    Do you remember what wire/s you tapped into on the stereo harness to power the gauges?

    • @truckandroll989
      @truckandroll989  3 роки тому

      Richard Dawson i believe you tie into two. Switched 12V and constant 12V. If you pull up the diagram for the stereo you should be able to match up the functions. Sorry i cant be more help at the moment

    Do you recall what dash kit you used for the radio? Ones I've used in the past were hit or miss on fitment and yours seems to be really well aligned.
