My ‘99 Camry 2.2L (5SFE) is still going strong at 338,000 miles.
My 2011 Toyota Sienna has 228k miles and still going strong. Doesn’t even burn oil at all. We change oil every 5k miles with full synthetic oil. It looks like it will last more than 300k miles easily.
I work at the INL in Idaho as an electrician. I bought a used 2002 Camry with about 150,000 miles, when started in 2012 and put over 130,000 miles on it. I drive 500-600 miles a week. I got rearend in August of 2020. I think i could have added another 100k to it. I just did the regular maintenance on it.
I bought a new Camry in 2020 when Toyota was offering no interest loans.
Its an AWD model with the 4 cylinder.
Already over 100k on it.
Toyota has me sold with build quality.
my '09 corolla has approx 320k miles on it and still going strong! just drove from AZ to NC for the holidays, and will turn around and drive back to AZ in a few weeks (it's around 2,000 miles one-way). only gripe is a small oil leak.

Ive got an 02 Sequoia my parents bought new with 350k miles. Still runs like the day it came off the lot
My aunt has a 2002 Toyota Sequoia with 450,000 miles on it and she tows a 13,000 pound boat with it.
My Camry went to 230k until accident, that beast was smoking for the last two years and still was driving 😊
I have a 2003 Toyota Camry with 100k miles and a 5 speed manual same color too.

Oil leaks at that mileage is common. Main seal and timing covers all the time!! And power steering leaks....... rack, hoses, and pumps super common!!
My 2008 Rav 4 is 350000km just did all the suspension and brakes. Hope it keeps rolling
Just ran across the channel… while I’m a tech and fluent in Asian and domestic vehicles, my son has a 2011 WRX STI that he ran low on oil and…. knock knock knock. He was furloughed at the start of Covid and I told him to buy parts. He bought a new crank, OEM gaskets and seals, forged pistons, Manley rods, etc. So all there is to do is rebuild it… and I’m smart enough to know that it would be unwise to just rip and tear. Engine is out and on a stand. It’s been down since 2021 and I really want to fix this unit. I’ll be diving deep into your videos for guidance.

I'm a Toyota guy, but when Toyota teamed up with Subaru to build a such an amazing car I'm now also a Subaru guy.
Toyota shares a 30% stake in Subaru so they're not "that" different but there's still quite a lot of differences between them

There is so much Toyota in Subaru now it’s mostly all of Denso except for our alternators I think that’s still Mitsubishi…
Not bad for the mileage. Cars will last if properly maintained, just like your Subie fleet.
Mr. Subaru, could you do a video explaining the difference of Subaru’s High Performance Gear Oil 75W-90 vs. the OEM Extra MT 75W-80? As consumers we can’t buy the Extra MT 75W-80. Which our User Manuals say is the required fluid. It says we can use 75W-90, but that we will lose “drivability and efficiency”. I have a 2023 Crosstrek w/ 6MT.
As much as I like Subarus I am finding they go through more parts than Hondas and Toyotas due to the flat 4 design. Still it is a tradeoff as the Subie is a blast to drive in snow and rain compared to the FW drive cars.

300k miles and all it has are some mild oil leaks and worn struts. Typical Toyota.
Well, at least this engine is leaking oil not burning it because some of these engines were notorious with the low piston ring tension issue….
Yup. Just skirted the piston ring issues on this one being a 2003.
This is great insurance when getting a car inspected . When you recommend repairs just show them this video

I have this type of engine with 200 thousands miles, the oil leaking out of timing chain tensioner, which needed to be reseal
About 70 oil changes if done every 5k miles.
This is kinda unrelated to the video but what’s ur opinion on oil changes with using good quality oil or high quality oil? The oil I use says it can be changed every 10 thousand but I think that’s pushing it and go about 5 thousand on oil changes but my buddy goes 10 thousand and thinks it’s okay.he did do some research and and talk to people before coming to that conclusion
@@user-pd3gt3tx5e yeah my buddy I been knowing for years isn’t stupid by any means and has a decent amount of knowledge but from what I’ve seen and the stuff I’ve watched 10 thousand is pushing it and my thinking is the oil is the blood of the motor and 10 thousand is asking a lot out of any oil
My 2002 Hyundai Accent has 350k miles on the clock. Original power train. Did the clutch at 139k miles. All normal maintenance… wait I did put a cat converter on it 5 years ago. Love my little cucarracha (cockroach) . It’s black and it won’t die.
I have a Subaru Impreza and a Toyota Camry.. Love them both.. But its clear the toyota is better built.. Subaru is good, but when you drive a toyota, u know it will be around for a while and will ALWAYS start.. 20 below, 110 in the shade, Sure they are dishwashers on wheels, but man they are one heck of a dish washer, and you will have the best clean dishes in town for years!
I thought I heard Scotty mention in one of his recent videos that the so-called quick struts were not a good option and will not last.
They're just ok. Probably plenty good for this particular vehicle.
A lot of them are cheap no-brand Chinese struts, but some major strut manufacturers are now producing them (KYB, for example).
Scotty says a lot of things. 🙄
It’s held up pretty good . I’m not sure if I could drive one though , kinda boring vehicles.

The newer ones are even better. No stripped head bolts, sludge, or oil burning like the bad old days. People have poor memories.
Toyota camry 329000 ks ,no oil burn,goes up hill like a rocket and down hill like 2.
The oil is just a self regenerating anti rust fluid film...

This car has the 2AZ engine which is regarded as one of the most problematic engines Toyota has made. Yet it still has 340,000 miles on it. Toyota’s worst engine is still better than most manufacturers best engines.
This is the pre low tension ring version. Didn’t consume oil.
@@MrSubaru1387Yes, but they were very prone to head bolt problems and they still were prone to oil burning and sludge.
kind of hilarious to be honest. this generation of Camry was the best car I ever had, my dad still drives it nearly 300k miles in. it puts into perspective how much better those 90s and 2000s Toyota and Honda VVT engines were compared to anything else out there.
Toyota's are reliable, can't say this about their dipsticks 🤔
The second car is a better car than the primary, in my opinion 🤣🤣🤣 I'm a 30-year automotive repair veteran. I know what lasts and what doesn't.

How’s that? My 2015 Outback just rolled 240k miles. My brother has 230k on his 2011 Outback. My 2013 Crosstrek has 230k miles. My mom’s 2014 Forester has 225k miles.
@@MrSubaru1387 cause of maintenance and driving conditions brother! That noted, the CVT for the models you listed above have displayed sub par reliability vs automatic transmissions and CVTs in like cars - the data show.
@@coveyking all are on their original engines and original CVTs. Aside from the forester. Previous owner was duped into a replacement by a dealership that was clueless.
