192,000 Mile Toyota Camry Makeover!

- This old Toyota Camry was picked up by its new owner in less than desirable condition, but for a 192k miles, it's not too bad. After a thorough wash and decon, the exterior received a two-step correction to clean up most of the swirls and haziness. The front bumper and hood were covered in rock chips and bug splatter that had etched into the paint, so I filled in what I could with touch-up paint and blended it in. The headlights were sanded with 600 grit, then 1000, followed by 2000 and 3000, and then compounded and polished out for a crystal clear view. After everything was said and done, the entire exterior was sealed up with Ceramic Pro Sport.
The seats were removed from the interior so that the carpet could be shampooed and extracted, but some stains still persist, especially the rear passenger side. I'm not sure what was spilled, but it left a permanent stain behind. The seats were the worst of the interior, having a nasty discoloration from dirt and body oils deposited over time, but were easily cut through with all purpose cleaner and steam. Once the interior was finished up, all panels and seats were dressed with CarPro Perl: a general purpose, water-based dressing, to add some moisture back into the leather and plastics while also adding a natural sheen to their surface.

These are my favorite types of videos. Take a reliable car that has been heavily used and totally restore it. Keep it up!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
I have a silver 2009 Camry XLE that's VERY similar. You can't reverse the wear on the driver's seat but otherwise this car looks NEW!!!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!!
Thank you!
You did a bomb! Job thank u for posting can we get more car restoration videos 😮😮😮
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I hope to have more videos soon
Attention to detail! Awesome work man!
Thank you!
Bro… you killed it!! I think this is the #1 way to increase value to a vehicle without spending much except elbow grease. I know your hands must be sore after I’ve done some details almost on your level..
couple questions: how many total hrs would you say? If you were to charge someone for this detail what would they pay? And what grit sand paper on the wet sand you did?
Epic bro keep it up and very high quality video and camera work!!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I can’t recall exactly how much time went into it. I’d say it was somewhere around 20-25 hours total. Thank you for your support!
Where do you get your music selection? Great background music.
Epidemic Sound. They’re a subscription based service that allows a license to any of their music for just $15 a month.
New subscriber. Some of the most thoroughly done detailing I've watched on UA-cam even from channels twice the size. You'll go far. Music relaxing. Just a awesome vid editing and all.
I appreciate that, thank you!
Ryan working his magic!! Awesome transformation!!
Thank you!
Looks super nice. I like start to finish videos on a project car. I've seen leather repair that perhaps to restore to like new.
I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
Great video. Awfully thorough cleanup. But I don't understand how you could spray wash the engine without covering its electrical parts first?
Everything is designed to get wet so long as you don’t force high pressure into the connectors or fuse boxes. Ensuring everything is tight is essential though, and getting too close with the pressure washer can cause water to leak past the seals, so staying back to the point that the water is just mist by the time is reaches the sensitive components helps too.
My Toyota Highlander 2013 just turn 100000k miles just a few days ago. I should have given a makeover as well. Still drives like it was new super quiet and very comfortable ride.
I wonder how many hours it took you to give your Camry a well deserved makeover?
That Highlander will last you forever, definitely give it a good pampering from time to time. It deserves it! I can’t remember exactly how long this detail took, but I’d say it was somewhere around 20-25 hours total.
Great video 📸
Thank you!
Nice detailing view. Still gonna shine for next 10+ yrs . Having 2003 model my wife and friends keep on asking when am i upgrading. I answer till it dies lol
These cars will run forever! Way more reliable than what’s being made today.
Nice video... I wouldn't be using those cheap stiff nylon brushes on paintwork though.
You’re right about the brushes, they’re not the best, and I definitely don’t use them 99% of the time, but there are occasions when there’s dirt building around trim and lettering that causes staining and won’t come out with a soft brush. I’ll only do it on white or silver vehicles, and never on vehicles with exceptionally good paint.
That's just a great quality car and a great quality vid! Well done!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video
You missed a spot! …………Super clean work the Camry looks like it’s fresh off the lot
Thank you!
Damn by the time it was all done with it looked like it literally rolled off a car lot. Thats some impressive magic bro
Thanks!
Man that’s a thorough great job! Looks awesome!
Thank you!
Grandioso amigo, sin palabras.
Gracias amigo!
Old Camry had a spa day
Well deserved after 192k miles
Такая камри и у нас до сих пор ценится. И xv30 тоже кстати встречаются!
The Camry is king!
That was inspirational buddy!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
A million times better than it was!
Far from perfect but a nice turn around for sure
Good day. I am in the Caribbean and I have a RHD to this Camry. I need a link to where I can purchase parts. I need to change my both headlights soon. Can anyone assist?
What kind of cleaning solvent on the pump spray car looks great!!
Just an all purpose cleaner diluted 1:8 for interior and 1:4 for exterior
This is fantastic- subscribed! What is the light clamp you used for the interior?
Thank you! The light is a Neiko rechargeable cordless light from Amazon. Works great
me still driving my 850k km 2011 camry
My 07 XLE is at 187k but it's not in the best shape I got hella water damage from a leak somewhere floor boards front and back soaked 😂
You’re still just breaking it in. It’ll last forever
the interior turned out amazing but u should slow down more
I’ll work on slowing down the time lapses in the future. Some of the clips are quite long though so I need to speed them up or the video will double in length. I do appreciate your honest feedback!
Thanks, this is satisfying
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Be sure to check out my other videos and share them with friends and family you think will like them too.
Great job
Thank you!
I want to buy this car
It would definitely be a great purchase.
Bro my dad has a 2013 camry se with 190k miles, and im wanting to learn how to buff, a car, i have all the things i need, i got the ultra compound, the polish, and the liquid wax, is that all i need? Also i already restored the headlights before. Thank you! Love your vids, New sub!
You can get away with just a polish on light colored Toyotas because the paint is so soft, but if you want to get most of the defects out, you’ll need to compound the paint before polishing. And if you’re doing their white acrylic lacquer single stage paint, you’ll definitely need to compound first, but that’s not a paint type I’d recommend learning to paint correct on.
Hey thank you for doing this
How did you restore the windows?
A yellow foam pad and 3D One polish
@@HamptonsTouch Could you link what yellow foam pad you used?
this is great video!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it
this is great
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it
Exelent work💪💪 🥳🥳🇵🇹🇵🇹
Thank you!
what did you polish the glass with? regular polish wax works?
I used HD Speed by 3D on the glass. It has some wax in it you can leave behind for protection, or strip it and coat the glass. I like using it because it won’t leave white residue marks on the rubber trim.
cool
я кайфанул👍👍
🙏🙌
Vid needs more cats. Still A+ tho
Never enough cats
Your time lapse is way too fast to enjoy or learn anything from this video.
If I can slow down the time lapses in future videos, I definitely will. I just try not to drag some of these longer clips out too long or the video length with double. I appreciate your honest feedback!
Great video but what was used in the engine bay according g to alot of videos I see they say not to use to much water and carefully on some areas dud you cover the alternator or anything at all thank you looks great and I have a Camry myself
this car makes you old just by looking at it =) one of most boring cars ever
A very boring car, but one of the most reliable.
Love the video I myself have a 2020 Toyota Camry xse and I love it however I feel like Toyota had certain things on older models that were better quality like even the carpets in this video are way better quality than mines . I don’t even think I have real carpet it’s like a trunk floor liner or like when you buy them big speakers back in the day for your trunk and they are wrapped with that fuzzy carpet looking stuff that’s what my floor reminds me of like so cheap compared to this guys .
