It's a bit funny that in the land of incest, torture, rape, murder, betrayal, and madness the worst Stark's sins are "They were a bit irresponsible with boats" 😂
thats house stark for you
Don't forget the night king buisness, next time you see an unnaturally beautiful pale women beyond the wall with corpse eyes, don't stick it in
@@cephalonbob15that story was removed from history and why nobody really knows about it
I'd argue "forgetting theyre in a cutt-throat fantasy where honor is thrown out the window and not a Disney film" is another sin
Look for Theon Stark "the Hungry Wolf", Starks used that fleet for a little something before this.
*any stark boy comes to the world*
his father: I SHALL NAME YOU BRANDON
Aegon
Best name ever
lets go brandon!!
Well brandon the builder was technically the 'aegon' of house stark,so it make sense
Must be the Stark equivalent of Aegon😂
When Robb got to the afterlife they must have been so happy to meet the King Who lost the North and get some heat of themselves
Lmfao king who lost the north and oathbreaker
it was torrhen who lost the north not robb
@@hikarunakamura5582 Robb became king and lost it tho.
@@jonathancubano575 he lost it because he had no heirs. jon was legitimized but he was on the wall and rickon and bran was nowhere to be found. if northern lords knew that rickon was alive they would crown him as the new king. lady dustin and lord manderly looked like they bent the knee to the boltons but they had a plan about how to save rickon and crown him as the king in the north. (in the books)
@@hikarunakamura5582 Robb was smh nevermind your brain is too small anyway 😔
The Starks were known to not do well when they left home.
Nope, that’s going south.
Actually they Ancestor was from The Reach 😅. Remember Garth Greenhand ? Brandon the Builder Grandfather
Arya went and did pretty well
@@darellmawitjere They were in that extended universe worldbuilding and I'm not too familiar with that.
@Kay's world Stark men weren't known to do well when they went North and as for Ayra she may have left the North but she came back.
Lol, they lost so much of their naval power that this is pretty much the first time I’ve heard of the Starks having a chance at naval supremacy
Same but I guess it makes sense having to deal with the pirate isles all the damn time. Seems the North was just OP before and has been getting nerfed ever since
I'm pretty sure the reason Old Andalos fell is because when the Andals mass migrated to Westeros they failed to invade the North by both boat and the Neck. In retaliation the Northmen sailed their entire fleet to Old Andalos and killed everyone who hadn't migrated to Westeros
@@jesuschrist9513 It's even more crazy because it was the first known invasion from Westeros to Essos. The Starks were wild as hell back in the day.
It wouldn’t be naval supremacy, but Robb Stark does talk with Wyman Manderly about constructing a new ~50 ship fleet during the War of the Five Kings. Last time we see Wyman, he says the ships are ready and he’s about to betray Roose Bolton.
@@ericgarcia7592 there's also Northmen who migrated to Essos to fight as sellswords after Torrhen Stark bowed to Aegon Targaryen.
House Manderly: "Don't worry, cuz. We got you."
House Stark: _"Thanks?"_
And who are you the proud lord said....
And then there's Arya doing the same dumb thing in a goddamn boat 😂😂😂
maybe she will meet a new branch of the stark family and bring them back to westeros.
@@edmcintosh9500 😂😂😂
@@edmcintosh9500 what a great theory.
@@edmcintosh9500I would read that fic for sure
@@edmcintosh9500 I heard a theory stating that Brandon the Shipwright survived and created a cadet branch of House Stark on the western side of Westeros.
So my father lost his live using all these resources from my kingdom to fund his fruitless endeavor. Guess I’ll burn it down and collect the insurance.
-Bran the burner, probably
Lost of investments you mean. Most trees of the wolfswood are probably destroyed due to the building of the ships. So instead of using it to retrieve his father's or use it for maritime trade bran the burner just burned it for no apparent reason. lol
Every stark named Bran is going to be the worst character ever lol
bran the builder is worst?
@@yippeekiyay7132 he left the free folks beyond the wall so yes
@@prashanthsanjay7944 the wall is for the ww not for the free folks you should blame the other generation of lord commander
@@prashanthsanjay7944
Wasn't his decision. He constructed the wall, which must've taken a hot minute to complete, even if the Walkers helped with Ice Magic. So, not his fault if others stayed elsewhere.
@@prashanthsanjay7944 he only try save his people from ice zombie
"Lost in sea" his fleet was never found though, and I doubt that anyone even tried sailing west again. So I'm guessing that perhaps, Bran did find the West of Westeros and found a better place than both Essios and Westeros, so he chose to stay and never invite those treacherous Westerosi kings and lords.
Perhaps if such a land exists then maybe there are some westerosi who know, specifically that the lonely light ironborn
I can't recall which UA-camr had a similar theory but it was theorized that he settled with his crew on another land
There were uncharted islands west but there was never anything else written
@@rosshugecaulk I believe the theory being they landed somewhere on the other side of the map. GRRM has noted that the world is a globe. Meaning they could have very well landed on the other side of the map
@@bobbybaklava9605 like that one princess, or someone else, who sailed around Westeros and her ship was seen floating at a dock in Asshai. Could've just died and gone down into the sea too.
Id like to imagine that he found USA, a wife, and created the Stark branch that would lead to Tony Stark
I thought you were gonna diss my boi Jon, thank goodness...
Arya: What's west of Westeros? Jon: I don't know. Arya: No one does. That's where I'm going.
His son's rage from grief is understandable. That is a heavy loss.
Show Jon was such an insult to the real Jon Snow in the books. Actually a lot of show characters were...
But we never wanted to notice, until we couldnt help it
fr, I have no idea why so many people like Jon in the show
@@scaroian is he much better in the books?
@@georgedanielsbiz far better.
@@scaroian people just like Kit Harrington it has nothing to do with the character
This character, for history buffs who wonder, is inspired by Saint Brendan the Navigator. An Irish saint who set sail on a small boat never to return again. There have been theories that he did reach the New World and had even attempted to spread Christianity up the Mississippi River to the Native peoples as Spanish conquistadors who traveled the region told stories of Natives who were in possession of old crucifixes that were given to them by earlier explorers.
I assumed it was based on Mansa Abu Bakr II of Mali, the king of Mali who was said to have built a grand fleet and set sail across the Atlantic, to search for the "great continent across the waters" and never returned.
His successor, Mansa Musa, is often regarded to have been the richest man in history. So he fared a little bit better than Bran the Burner.
Brandon’s son should have consulted with Euron Greyjoy on how to build an entire fleet without the resources, man power or dry docks in the span of a few episodes
Or discuss with Gendry how he ran a marathon in the snow? or how the Raven he send to Dany reached the other side of the continent in a few hours
Me to the Targaryens: *All of these DAMN Aegons!!!*
Me to the Starks: *All of these DAMN Brandons!!!*
Accurate lol
😢
All named after their most famous ancestors.
Aegon the Conqeuror for the Targs.
And Brandon the Builder for the Starks.
Targaryen/Stark marital alliance
The parents:.......BRAEGON!......(LOL😂😆)
Meanwhile The Lannisters:
Any men whose name begin with the word Ty is always the problem.
It would’ve been really cool (and correct me if I’m wrong) if the night king was actually Brandon coming back to reclaim his home, it would’ve made some of the night kings and Jon snows stare-downs a lot more intimidating
Imagine owning like 50% of your continent's coastline and being neighbor to the greatest naval power who is mostly known for raiding and pillaging and then cripple yourself by destroying all your ships.
That's the reason why Stark have to depend on Mendarly for the navy
Nope, the north has pretty much no Navy including the Manderleys
@@Al4___ House Manderly has ships and a wealthy port. It's their one major contribution to the Northern economy. Even their name harkens to their origins near the river Mander in the Reach where they fled centuries ago
@@thembanitheone Except the Manderlys only Defends the Eastern Coast but Western Coast where the Iron Islands would likely strike? They have None
They need Western Fleet
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 well yes.. but their ships aren't war galleys, they're chiefly for trade. Being in the East coast is perfect position to trade with the Vale, Crownlands, Stormlands, Dorne and the Free Cities in Essos. Lannisters and Baratheons have the main militarized Navies in Westeros to rival the Iron Islanders.
King Brandon was known as Brandon the Shipwright due to his love of the sea
Men relationship with the sea is the most toxic stuff ever from both sides. XD
King Brandon was known as Brandon the Burner due to his love of arson
King Brandon is known as Brandon the Broken cause his love of the broke.
It's a good thing all these Brandon Starks have "the ____" nicknames otherwise it'd get confusing
And they call Targaryens mad 😂
Madness is Relative, even more in this World....
Make no mistake Targaryens were on a different level lool
This isn’t even madness. Just like a dumb stark doing the complete opposite from what they’ve been taught. Then their equally dumb kid did the exact same shit.
@@levia9349 frfr Targaryen madness is my kind of madness ✨
But fr wtf is wit the saying Gods flip a coin blah blah blah, the only clincially insanee Targaryens were Aerys and Aerion
@@liamcarrington7681 Dude, I get ur point about the Starks and Targaryen's Madness perspectives. But they have more than enough reason to claim about the Targaryens Madness. Not only Aerys and Aerion, many of them are Menace and Mad and Cruel and Insane...
Aerys II, Viserys III, Aerion, Aegon IV, Aemond, Aegon II, 5 Children of Jaehaerys, Half of the Blackfyre's, Maegor, and even Daemon is Insane...
And then there was Bran the Brickclimber who we all knew a little too well
What if Arya sails west and finds descendants of Bran the Shipwright hmmmm
No stark was more menacing than The Hungry wolf ,Theon stark.🐺
thousand of years and this is the level of their civilization ??? talk about stuck
It's so weird lol
Who do you think was a worse King the Shipwright or the Burner?
Brandon the burner definitely he burnt his own entire fleet
Brandon The burner was the worst.
not just burned all fleed but banned all ship maker.
Because of that their enemy the Ironborn fleed rise a might power in Western sea , Congquer Riverland & reach their power until Aegon come.
Robb the Oathbreaker and King who Lost the North…
I dunno but i am really curious what Brandon the Bad did to gain that name
The burner. Because him, the greyjoy always invade the north
I'm just wondering if there's a Stark Empire out there..
Thousands of years?! Gosh, George is a real mess when it comes to timescaling.
Bro probably founded a dinasty in Sothorios lol
When you think about this it still is supportive of the starks. Considering how the supposed WORST king was simply a guy that set sail with a bunch of resources and never returned, how good the Starks are just in general as the rulers of the North, like they didn't get a Aegon iv or mad king aerys, just a king that made a very foolish mistake. I can see why the North loves them so much
Likely due to them being Honorable and Just rulers, which contribute Loyalty of the North Towards them
weakest stark king vs strongest Vale king
King Bran The Shipwright (Build A Royal Fleet)
Kings Advisors: GREAT IDEA!
King Bran: I want to do a world sailing tour.
Bad idea. Cause King is now lost.
Bran II (aka Bran The Emo-Dumbass) burns The Royal Navy!
So D&D (if they even knew about this) thought to themselves "Yeah, makes sense to write Aria off that way" 😅
Until Arya sailed west and found he lived out his days in a city greater than the likes of westeros . And then Arya began a war with his descendants and the rest was history . The war of the starks was the deadliest battle in the entirety of the game of thrones.
They couldn't build more ships in thousands of years? That's just nonsense.
They didn't want to. It was an investment that didn't appeal to them anymore. If the ships of Brandon Shipwright had survived, then maybe future kings could have continued adding to it. But building a fleet from scratch was too much effort.
Treez
Starks need to stay in winterfell. That’s the takeaway from Brandon the Shipwright. As well as Eddard and his son brother and father.
They must have depleted the surrounding area to such an extent that the area surrounding Winterfell must have suffered during the winter's. It's takes at least two generations for trees to grow. Plus, the Starks don't do well away from Winterfell.
After this debacle the Starks chose not to empower their navy. As the only coastal kingdom not to have their capital by the sea, a navy is a bit pointless.
There was a Stark King called Brandon 'The Bad' - but, no one knows why he was called that, you don't get that kinda name without being well...bad 😆
the problem with GOT world is that how come their technology remained thesame after thousands of years.
Collapse of civilisations, it's happened multiple times in our own history....
Some big others are smaller.
The Sphinx, for example, is thought to be some 4,500 years old, now they are saying it could be almost 8,000 year's old... Built by a civilisation that was on the Nile before the Egyptians, they believe.
The old neolithic monuments seemed to be an indication of a time we became very good builders, then just up and left them for unknown reasons now.
@@brianlong2334And after 8000 years we have current technology what has Westeros or Essos has after 8000 years of civilization Middle Ages.
@artimuos903 From memory, GRRM said that the time frame is probably wrong, as in they actually don't know how long ago the long night was. It might have only been 1,000 years before GOT
A few things like Greek fire/ Greek fire ships are gone, we don't have that technology it was lost a long time ago, Archimedes apparently used a mirror to light Roman ships on fire, he was a genius, what ever it was we lost when the men who were ment to capture him killed him...
The Chinese had the crossbow some 2,400 years ago. In the West, they first appeared in the late 900s and didn't become common until the 12 century, yet the Roman's had the Scorpio.
GRRM also has an ancient Egypt infantry war axe as the main weapon of the steppe people in GOT, which is utter rubbish, but it is fantasy... lol
Also, the monolithic monuments are old, some 5,000 years old, and others 12,000 or more.
Had the Chinese ruler's had their way, the world would have probably had the same technology we had 2,000 years ago.
At one point, the Chinese had massive treasure fleets, They ended up burning them and destroyed the information to build them.
@artimuos903 Also, I thought I'd mention from memory Bloodraven said he had been waiting for Bran Stark for 1,000 years in the show....
Yet Aegons conquest was in 2 AC... game of thrones started in 290 AC or about, and Blood Raven was born 175 AC.
Yeah, we went from building castle walls from rocks to walking to the moon in just mere 2000 years.
John and Rob hold my beer
More like Starks were lazy to create another fleet. And when Aegin came they probably thought few now Aegon have to take the headache.
Brandon The burner was Equivalen of Sultan Agung a Java king of Surakarta kingdom (Mataram Sultanate) during his Reign he burn all ship & Close all ship docks because his of Paranoid.
Make the Javan kingdom Fleed lost their marine power, trade & Sea technology on Northern Java Sea.
Make the VoC their enemy rise a marine power on trade route on Southeast Asia sea trading & military route. 🤦
The nights king is the worst example of a stark (He's thought to be a stark)
I was wondering about this too. But I guess he specifically meant the kings in the north.
He's not "thought" to be a Stark, it's just a theory
@@rosshugecaulk Dude that is the theory what are you talking about
@@DrDoom931 when you say "he's thought to be a Stark" usually means you're talking about something in-book and not just a fan theory
@@rosshugecaulk He was Stark because in that time A stark traditionaly hold a position of lord Commander
The north is full of trees had they kept the shipyards they could've taken pyke or at the very least make the ironborn think twice before they set out to raid
The Burner was definitely worse. The Shipwright was dumb but those ships could've been used for trade but not after the burner torched them
They probably use that as an excuse. It ain't easy sailing in Frozen shores.
Wolf's Den was always where their fleet is it's almost never frozen
I mean there is absolutely no reason the north should have a sizable fleet, they don’t have the strategic reason, nor the wealth of resources to do such a thing
Rightfully dissing Jon in the beginning clips lol, “Muh queen… I don’t want it”
Asshai is west of Westeros. Someone did make the journey in the lore
House Stark & House Martell - the only overlords whose kingdoms have both east and west coasts, in a world where naval combat is the key to military hegemony: "ig i'll burn my entire fuckin navy"
Guess we know Arya's fate now 😂😂
she may return to westeros with a lost branch of the Starks.
Not necessarily. Many have been lost sailing east, depending on what dangerous waters or coastlines they tried to navigate.
Keep in mind that this video is only lore for the books, which most of was left out for the show
We found the night king!! Its absolutely him, no tomb it sits empty 💯💯💯💯💯
The night King is regarded as the Rimmed Revenant "A person of substantial meaning returning after being gone for a very very very long time"
Absolutely obvious
Make a vdo on hardhome dragon invasion plz
Hey son, i am going to leave to get milk.
I feel like this is GRRM implying that there's a bunch of Northmen living in some sort of fantasy Vinland.
I would like to know where that Fleet went for all we know that’s a massive fleet found untouched land and started a new civilization.🤷🏻♂️
I heard a theory stating that Brandon the Shipwright survived and created a cadet branch of House Stark on the western side of Westeros.
How can a single dynasty last over 1000 years? (Nevermind just looked it up and there’s been a few long lasting dynasties).
Why not? Just make kids and tell them to keep doing the same.
@@woundedeye It just seemed unrealistic to have a continual dynasty for so long but yeah apparently it’s possible.
@@way2tehdawn My own dynasty has been continuing for over 10x millennium.
He was just getting a large shipment of milk is all
Ship guy wasn't that bad build a huge fleet left enough to still be a navel might burning man wasn't as smart
My dude spent decades of his life killing Wildlings just to end up in the Grey Waste trying to get past the 5 Forts and back home...would be a neat theory
I guess Arya should’ve studied her history books more because she’s doing the same mistake. If they had found land to settle thousands of years ago, at least one of them would’ve sailed back.
Bran the cripple or rob Stark have to be the worst kings in terms of what they accomplished
Give poor Bran some time
the fuck are you people after robb for
Jon is the worst gave up kingship for sex with his aunt
idk Robb was pretty bad
Arya will meet their descendants in her journey
and maybe return with them to westeros.
@@edmcintosh9500 Jon Finding dragon eggs beyond wall, danerys being resurrected by drogon, Arya returning with these people
Wow interesting things in upcoming series plots
Robb Stark is objectively the worst of the Stark Kings
It's a terrible mistake to consider Brandon the Shipwright as the Worst Stark King rather than Brandon the Burner.
i want them to do a show of this timeline
Sorry but the worst stark king was Robb. Dude got hundreds (possibly thousands) of northern men killed and his house was nearly destroyed. All because he couldn’t keep a oath.
Make one about the man who made varis a eunuch. The witch.
May be he found a continent like America and never came back.
Better than any Targaryen
The worst stark king is the one who lost the north and winterfell
Reading up on the Pre Game Of Thrones lore I’ve gotten the impression that the Gods have been deliberately making The North weaker.
He set sail for fail
Maybe he liked what he saw and decided to stay lol
how is this song called
Some theories believe that Brandon found what was West of Westeros.
I thought he was going to say Brandon the $hit🤣
I dont really understand how families work in this world. If the Starks have existed for thousands of years, why is there only one Stark family? Even with wars and whatever else, it makes no sense for them to have ZERO cousins with the Stark name.
It's just for dramatic effect I think. If this Stark family all dies, the Stark name dies. But that's going to happen anyway. Bran likely cant have children, and jon isn't a Stark. Arya and Sansa are female and cant carry on the family name.
I haven't read the books, but I think Rickon is still alive. So maybe I'm wrong. But that's still just one lineage of Starks.
Alright the burner is one of the dumbest characters I’ve ever heard of lol
Yes, I have heard about it.
Next up...
Brandon the Broken!!!!!
the worst Stark king is Robb the simp in the north
John Snow was the worst Stark king
So somewhere west is west there’s a branch of starks
It’s always the stark Brandon’s that are either terrible or incredible
Jesus Christ is king 👑
Only monsters live west of westeros. Big monsters!!
has anyone consisered that maybe west of westoros is just cool as hell?
Starks are better warriors and military commanders as compared to politician and leaders
Now brandon the who's the worse of them.
Yk what a stark on his worst day is still better than most if not all the other families, ESPECIALLY the hounds they had for the first family theboratheons
Couldnt he have used those ships for trading or defend the coast from Ironborn instead of burning them?
I'm just mad you put Jon Snow as the Thumbnail... I mean, he had his flaws but damn. You made him the face of this?
I hate to say this they may have been some of if not the best people coming from that house great warriors and even some skilled in the art of war and the day to day ruling the north but they were also some of the dumbest at the same time being nice and a good person doesn't mean u have to be dumb
dark brandon
The Starks had a navy??
They probably died within the 1st 24 hours of landing in Ulthos, the Shadow Lands or whatever is east of them 😅
