I love this album....and the cover. Great stuff....Lovesick Blues, Are My Thoughts With You, Nobodys, Louise, He Dark the Sun, and Life is Like a Mountain Railway are some of my faves. And of course Long, Long Time...which got Linda her first Grammy nom. And yes, those big brown eyes are gorgeous.
First found out who Linda was when she opened for a Neil Young concert around 1971. She had the crowd yelling & whistling and they really didn't want to let her go. When Neil finally took the stage, you could tell he was feeling a little pissy. I think you're right that this was her most impressive number - always breaks your heart when you hear her.
I am so happy you reacted to this song. I have always loved Linda's music. This song is my favourite because it is relatable. Back in the 70's I had a friend who I was falling in love with but could not tell her. I wrote her several letters and in one of the letters I sent the lyrics of this song to show her how I felt. She responded by telling me we could only be friends. I have never forgotten her or this song. It is a shame that Linda can no longer perform.
I believe many of us had similar experiences and that is why so many can relate to the lyrics and love this song. Thank you for sharing your story. Take care. ✌️
Loved this song since the first time I heard it so many years ago. In all this time I've never heard another song quite like it. "Living in the memory of a love that never was." Wow. That line still gets to me to this day. And, needless to say, no one could have done the song justice the way Linda Ronstadt did.
Well, now that I’ve discovered your channel and seen your appreciation for Linda Ronstadt, I had to check this one out. I don’t know why UA-cam blocks videos for one channel and not another. I actually requested this song on another channel and when he tried to post this studio version, it was blocked and he had to use a live version. Her live performances are exquisite but every one I’ve found of this song is shortened for TV and I wanted the whole song. So you have been successful in posting the version I wanted. It’s just a lovely sad song about one sided love. She’s amazing. Nice reaction. 🎄🌺✌️
Didn't hear you mention Gilbert & Sullivan's light opera "Pirates of Penzance" which she did on Broadway & a movie. Opera?! Of course she could! Watch it if you haven't seen it. It's a lot of fun.
She was interviewed a few years back after she was unable to sing anymore because of MS or what ever she has and and she was was asked how did she feel now she couldn't sing and she said I sing in my mind. Could you react to her and Aaron Neville I dont know much BUT I know love you. At the music awards.
I had a Guy that I fell very hard for when I was 17, I was Naive and young and picky about Boys not to have been offensive, Anyway He called me and we dated briefly but he broke up with me and wanted my Best friend so a Double Hurt there. A real Tenessee Waltz thing I guess. I'm 60 now and still Love him He was my first Love this is my favorite song by Linda Ronstadt. I have every album by Linda Ronstadt that I could find! I Love you too Linda Ronstadt. Her music got me through some hard teenage years. I started Buying her albums at 12 years old.
Love can be wonderful but also it can also be very hurtful. I had 2 girl friends in high school. One I broke up with and one who broke up with me. That was 50 years ago and I still think about both of then. Things that we do when we are young carry with us for our entire life! Thank you for sharing your story.
Just a word of advice...when a video is described as a reaction to an artist and the actual video does not start until 6:26 into the video you are going to lose viewers...not grow the channel. Just FYI...you just can't do that and expect folks to stay while you rant about your personal issues with You Tube. Even if they are legit...

this woman is amazing, everything she could sing. pop, rock, country... only an amazing person does that.

Great reaction. Just subbed.
