  • Linda Ronstadt...What a voice! She was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013 and she doesn't sing anymore. But she's left such a great discography for all of us to appreciate for years and years to come. I don't know much...but I know I love you Linda!

I’ve been listening to Linda Rondstadt since 1978. She’s the reason Iove to sing today. I still sing her songs with the same love, admiration and heart that I did back in the 70’s. She will always be my mentor and inspiration. Xoxo. As long as I can sing, I will sing her songs. ❤️

You Get IT!! I'm 60, I have been a fan of Linda Ronstadt's since I was 12 I started buying her albums at 14 in 1975. I bought every one of her albums that I could find. Her music got me through some very difficult years. My favorite song by Linda Ronstadt is "Long Long Time" I had a Boy that I Loved and couldn't get it through my Head that He didn't Love me back I was 17, I still Love that Boy Believe it or not. I'm also a singer and suffer from several different afflictions and Chronic pain. I can no longer do much of anything COPD and Arthritis took over. I Love you Linda Ronstadt thank you again. Great video!

In Nov. of 1976, 44 years ago, I saw Linda in concert at Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. I went alone as all of my idiot friends didn't want to go, she was not hard rock enough for them. I told them to F...off and enjoyed one of the best concerts I ever went to.
Remember ... you don't always have to follow your friends, at times you need to make your own path!
Oh ... Andrew Gold was also there playing in her band.
MY FAVORITE SINGER OF ALL TIME !
    Nice video!

I grew up with Linda Ronstadt whether I liked it or not. Thankfully I liked it. I have three older sisters and they are huge Linda Ronstadt fans. Her voice, her style, her versatility and being a Latina I never knew where an inspiration to me as I was growing up through my sisters. I came to appreciate and become aware of this as I got older. Linda Ronstadt’s voice is truly a treasure and her arrangement of songs is genius.

I wish she would sing again. Linda at her worst, with Parkinson’s, is probably better than 75% of what I hear currently.
But she’s a perfectionist and what she sings now wouldn’t live up to her own standards.
    I hate it.

Really enjoyed this video! Your emotion when you talk about Linda is very touching ...and that’s such a great album! I’ve been a huge Linda fan since I was a toddler (one of the first artists I ever heard on the radio in the 70s). I agree-she is so diverse and can sing anything! (I reviewed several of her albums in one of my recent videos). I finally saw Linda in concert in the early 2000’s. (Possibly when she first started showing symptoms of Parkinson’s). She relied very heavily on a TelePrompTer but oh, she still sounded fabulous! Brought the house down with “Desperado”! 😎💜🎸👍

If I could pick one person to represent the admirers of Ms. Ronstadt's body of work and consummate professionalism to tell her what she has meant to them/us, it would be you sir! You voiced everything I have been experiencing and thinking these past couple of months in regard to the unique, divine career of Ms. Linda Ronstadt. Seeing the excellent documentary of her life released in September, reading her memoir, and enjoying the print and tv interviews given as a result of her Kennedy Center Honors recognition prompted me to marinate in her music for hours on end and deepen my appreciation of her as a vocal artist. Someone described her as demonstrating a "radical acceptance" of her illness, and as you so aptly pointed out, Travis, that woman toured and recorded non-stop for decades upon decades and probably sang during most of her waking hours each day. She does not mind being a homebody! Her mind is as fertile and restless as ever, and her family and friends remain near. She can savor the fact that the "simple dream" of her childhood came true.
And you, Travis, as a music educator and a joyful, sensitive soul will do much to make the simple dreams of children of all ages come true! Thank you so much for being a kindred spirit to us Linda Ronstadt fans out there. As a type, she's probably mid-air heading back to San Francisco from D C. flying over all the cities and towns she traveled long ago as her amazing musical odyssey unfolded. Her cat, her garden and a stack of books will be there to welcome her home!

Hi Tavis, last year I read Ronstadts autobiography. It was a wonderful book. I was a child of the 70s and I did not much care for her back then. Times change, our listening habits change. In the 00s I got into her music and bought a lot of the music. I really like her albums of traditional Mexican folk tunes as a tribute to her grandma. The book was fascinating and helped me appreciate her music. Enjoy. Steve

Great video! I love Linda too. I just got a nice copy of Heart like a Wheel. I also picked up a copy of an album that she did Aaron Neville. I haven't spun it yet so I'm curious if it's an entire album of duets. I'm glad your involved with music education. Keep encouraging kids to sing.

oh Travis. i am just sick. years ago my husband and i got hard up for money. i sold my collection of music. It was ALL vinyl. some of it was probably worth a small fortune and i practically gave it away. Linda's older stuff was part of the collection. I had everything from Jim Hendrix to Aretha Franklin ,the Stones when they were on London,Sly and the Family Stone, Eagles (almost all of those),Johnny Winter and MORE. So many i could keep going. I wish i could look up the guy who bought them but i bet he wouldn't be as stupid as i was and sell them back to me .Had we had you tube back then a lot of these could have been yours-including Linda's. I would have given those to you. I am having a big sad. Even more ironic my wonderful father passed away from Parkinson's Disease. He had to quit doing all the things he loved too.
