Instrumentals are a lost art
Not if you listen to rad music.
80's term for awesome.
Testament has some great instrumentals particularly on the New Order Album
Just just instrumentals, but instruments themselves are becoming a lost art unfortunately
. (Top 40 pop nonsense).
Except there's tons of instrumental bands...
Cliff was so special, love the "Growling" of his bass, just awesome.
Cliff's bass in this is so subtle, but when you focus on it, it's just so fucking amazing. His use of the wah pedal makes this song!
Cliff Burton playing his bass through that Morley wah pedal = Sublime
My favorite Metallica song, underrated and a total master piece.
My favourite Metallica instrumental ever. Loved your reaction!
Early 20s. 1984. They were at the top of their game with the albums Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.
Arley Simpson and ...And Justice For All
@@AustinGonder Everyone forgets about And Justice for All! WTF..... Their first four albums can be played from beginning to end, each song is their best work. That's just my opinion though.
@@AustinGonder Justice was good, many times better than the Black Album, but slightly subpar to Ride and Master.
Don't get me wrong - I love the Justice album, and loved Jason being in the band (being in Phoenix as I am - as was J. Newkid) - but mainly due to the production (where Lars insisted in screwing Jason's bass out of the mix), Justice is subpar to Ride and Master.
Just my opinion, lol.
RTL, MOP, AJFA...the holy trinity.
@@arleysimpson3678 My sentiments exactly, as far as explanations are concerned, about why I put Ride & Master above Justice. But I would agree that those three make up the "Holy Trinity" for Metallica.
Songs like this, makes me believe that some people have old and wise souls, upon birth. They seem to know or understand life, without having physical experience. They just know. It's insane how mature metallica sounds -albeit a bit cocky- in their early twenties. Great insight and reaction!
g geggs this was Mustaine not Metallica
@@GODHATESADOPTION I don't understand exactly what you mean. The credits for "The Call of Ktulu" on the METALLICA record Ride the Lightning label, reads: "Hetfield/Urlich/Burton/Mustain". It's not just Mustain, and it is a Metallica record. Some guitar parts are Mustain's and that is the reason he is credited, and he uses the same guitar patern in two Megadeth songs without being sued by Metallica for doing so. These are the facts. Now, if you mean that Mustain was the key creative force for metallica back then and they legally exploited his genius, well, metallica and Mustain don't even care any more, so neither do I.
g geggs watch the youtube video where mustaine says he wrote every note
g geggs no they dont care they are both rich and over it, mustaine still gets paid for every RTL album sold
Tommy Dolan, I'm pretty sure that it isn't a whole mustaine song. I really like Dave , but Mustaine declared himself that he has black holes in his memory, cause back in the day he was drunk or doing drugs ( a lot).
Still have the cassette
you sir are a legend
Ha, me too, in pristine shape too. White plastic, not the later released clear plastic. Looks like the day I bought it in 1985.
Me too!
I have over 100 cassette and not 1 cassette player I also have over a 100 CDs and not 1 CD player. Sometimes I'll play my CDs on our DVD player
I have Kill em all, ride, MoP, AJFA, Black, Load, Reload on cassette and the until it sleeps VHS plus much more on CD, DVD and other formats. :)
One thing I love about this song is how it captures the feeling of horror that you get reading H.P. Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu", even without any words. And since a large theme of Lovecraft's is indescribable horror, it is one of the best ways to experience it.
I for one just love watching your facial expressions during an instrumental as you kind of try an figure out where the song is going ,it's like ok what are they gonna do to me next, what emotion am I gonna feel 😊great job per usual #Roadto50K
I´m with you, but the pink makeup on her lids is awful, with closed eyes its a bit like a zombie xD
Christian Wendt I have to disagree she's perfect !
I usually also think so, but in this video i have to disagree ;) But its ok, just my opinion (for this video). Otherwise i would not follow her.
@@Regin333 I agree with you brother, beauty at it's purest✌🏼❤️🤘🏼
She’s cute with the pink, no pink, whatever she’s wearing!
Such an amazing instrumental
Yes Yes I got you!!. You know that Ride the Lightning has for the one the most harmonic guitar sounds in all of Metallica albums. They went up like three notches from violent speedy raw Kill'em All to this. Its like in just a year they matured a lot, which of course paved the way to their masterpiece Master Of Puppets
Tommy Guerrero I honestly think ride the lightning and and justice for all are equally as masterful as mastery of puppets. I honestly can't say that one is better then the other
To some extent I agree, but while Justice and Puppets have no bad/subpar songs, RTL has Trapped Under Ice and Escape ;-)
Then again it also has Creeping Death, probably one of their top 3 songs and one of the few 'Tallica songs that gives me chills to this day, especially live.
And they stayed relatively “underground” until hooking up with Bob Rock for the Black Album. Then they hit the mainstream.
Although, I was a fan from Kill Em All on down. But not many radio stations played their earlier stuff, and Metallica didn’t much give a damn...
Wow back to metallica land yes this is a memorable one back and the day and WE LOVE YOU GIRL AND YOUR REACTIONS TO METALLICA YOU'RE A VERY LIT METALHEAD NOW I SO WANT TO GIVE YOU A BIG HUG FOR YOUR LOVE FOR US I WILL WATCH THIS ALL DAY :) Oh yes and here in Pennsylvania we do have a school of rock lol
They won a Grammy for this song best rock instrumental performance in 2001
girl luv your hair, the really is beautiful with your skin tone. youre glowing
I love how you dig this shit.....you ma'am, have great taste.
im glad i can say that this is the kind of music that is 30 y old and u wiill still love it 30 years from now
I've seen TONS of these reaction videos and I've gotta say, you are hands down the best one out there. As a musician myself there is nothing better than seeing the passion of a reaction to hearing a great song for the first time... Thank you for being you and doing what you do 👉🏻💞❤️💞👈🏻
It’s great and really refreshing to see you enjoy these songs and be so profoundly affected by them. Many of us, my self included grew up listening to these songs as kids. I taught myself to play guitar back then just listening to these songs over and over again and figuring them out note by note, stoping and starting a cassette player. It’s sounds forever ago (I’m not even that old lol) but never could I have imagined watching ppl on a video streaming platform reacting to the music I grew up on, and feeling the same way so many of us did discovering it. 😉
one of my fav tracks. simply cus of that BASS
Yes!!!! Next please react to metallica ride the lightning and fight fire with fire!!!!
This was their second album came out in 1984
Also if you wanna do another instrumental by metallica check out anthiesia pulling teeth it is a bass solo done by there bass player cliff Burton it's amazing what he did with the bass guitar R.I.P. CLIFF BURTON
YES! Fight Fire With Fire! The first song I ever heard from Metallica AND STILL the best!
WE ALL SHALL DIE....
Definitely fight fire with fire!!
As a musician I can tell you, too find a group of guys/girls that find a connection is rare and if you're lucky enough to find/have that it's like no other feeling in the world. To be able to share your heart/soul and know that they understand, MAGIC. You have won a new subscriber and looking forward too seeing you swim through the oceans of life's soundtrack, it gives me joy too relive some of my favorite music with a brand new fan. Peace and Love PinkMetalHead.
Love it!! You need to listen to their song Bleeding Me, it's so emotional you're gonna like it girl
Do a reaction to
Pulling teeth anesthesia by Cliff Burton if you haven't already
The Big Flying Ninja i agree
The Big Flying Ninja i cliff burtons solo is a must have for all that wanna know how to play bass at its best
Oooooo good shout!
YAASSSSSSSS Cliff's master piece
Cliff Burton the best there was and ever will be..
Bless you Cliff Burton for the musical genius we were privileged enough to share with one another... R.I.P. ...and thank you PMH for appreciating this masterpiece. It takes me back to my childhood. This was the first Metallica album I heard back in bout '84 and just blew me away. Then came Master of puppets which was a whole nother level of genius...
I'm so glad to hear that someone else gets how great he was thanks for letting me know that I wasn't the only one
Your eyes literally rolled back into your head at one point. A++ reaction.
Really love your hair here! Thanks for the review of a great Metallica instrumental. 🙂👍
Megadeth - Good Mourning Black Friday
listen to the first 4 albums my metallica, all the songs are like that. Cliff Burton was the soul of metallica, the way Cliff played was like no other.
I'm a huge Metallica fan and this is my favorite song. I was 3 when this was released and first heard it at 7 and have loved metal ever since
I just have to say, you are a beautiful young lady who makes my heart feel good , watching you truly appreciate good music. Please keep the reactions coming.
One of my favorite Hammett solos! Second only to his solo in ...And Justice For All.
Think it was Dave Mustaine.
Bro obviously you don't know. Hammet was just fresh out of getting guitar lessons from Joe Satriani, and his Solo's on this album were heavily influenced by that. Even snuck in a few sweep picking arpeggios which he hasn't really done since.
Daniel Rigby haha... ok.
This is some good ass solo
Dave Never got credit for Lightning or Puppets..
I've never seen it requested on any reaction channel, but please, PLEASE do a reaction for Megadeth, Countdown To Extinction.
It's an absolutely Amazingly beautiful song.
Good call! Haven't heard it in years. Used to play it over and over again. Decided to play it again today. Great tune
Metallica bleeding me. Megadeth angry again. They're awesome! Like you! So glad you're back!
Even better, Foreclosure of a Dream.
Blast from the past this song awsome reaction PinkmetalHead and brilliant depiction of this song and band bang on point thank you
Hey Pink... loving your reactions, I knew you'd like this.. Its one of my all time favorites, first heard it back in 1987.. and it never gets old, a classic..
It's about Cthulhu, from the original novel with the same title as this song. Metallica simply changed the spelling and pronunciation. Cthulhu is a god from the imagination of H. P. Lovecraft, a horror-novelist who died in 1937. He wrote about cosmic horror; about species and gods from our universe and outside it. Cthulhu is the most popular. Usually enormous, but can alter size from being as big as a human, to as big as an actual continent. Octopus-like head with countless tentacles, scaly skin, humanoid body and giant dragon-like wings. Immortal. He's of the god-species known as the Great Old Ones. He got banished (if I remember correctly) to slumber underneath the sunken city of R'lyeh. He's so powerful that he can even enter people's dreams and manipulate them - as he's sleeping, himself.
Yes, he is immortal, but if he would, for some reason, die, his secret daughter, Cthylla, would give birth to him. The Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods look so grotesquely horrific, that humans will go literally insane after merely looking at them for a while, due to our brains not understanding what we're gazing upon. His grandfather, Azathoth, is in the centre of the universe, also sleeping. But the universe, we, Earth, other gods, matter, the sun, Existence itself, exists due to his dreams. If Azathoth wakes up, literally everything erases from existence, including existence, itself - excluding Azathoth. That's why other minor gods plays music around him, to keep him alseep. Anyways, I've rambled on enough now. Great choice and great reaction.
A thing to watch, Metallica mixed with a short film based on the novel by Lovecraft : ua-cam.com/video/sM0XvXEt2lo/v-deo.html
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn..." (In his house at R'lyeh, dead Cthulhu waits dreaming)
Cthulhu, the elder god that has his followers praying "Eat me! Eat me!"
Chthulhu is the high priest of the Great Old Ones. The Big Boss, but not as powerful as the Outer Gods.
The Thing That Should Not Be from Master of Puppets is about Cthulu also.
This was written when these guys were out of highschool for like two years
And i can see the raw emotion on your face everytime you hear agreat song by them...Love it!!! There unbelievable especially in the 80's
I was waiting for this one! I give you a 10/10 on your reaction- you truly gave this masterpiece the due it deserves! I makes me feel good that songs like these hit others just as deep. Look forward to more Metallica reactions \m/
The S&M version of this song is my favorite. It’s hard to believe it could be better but a professional orchestra really adds to the depth of it.
Plus Jason did a hell of a job with that bass in the S&M version...
@@victorherrero4790 He was really good, its a shame they always turned down the volume of his bass. Sure he wasn't Cliff but he was up there, definitely top tier
Question is did you hear Cliff Burton. Doing his sounds on Bass
Your reviews are so spot on with Metallica, I love them!! Awesome reviews!! 👍👍
there will never be anybody else like metallica, i have been there from the very beginning. the first time i ever saw them live was in 1989, and justice for all tour. and i can honestly say, there is no one who compares !
"(Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth"-- Metallica, instrumental....needs to be next.
Metallica University🤘🤘
that would be the best god damn school ever period exclamanation, i would never leave that

I just stumbled on your channel...I fuckin love your honest emotional response...

Metallica - Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) Live Chicago 1983
pls try this pice of art, instrumental bass solo Cliff Burton you can cry ;)
Oh, you just hit my favorite instrumental of all time. Another great instrumental is Woodpecker from Mars by Faith no More.
just listening to it makes my fingers bleed
Love the way you really get into the music. You’re on point with your comments too. All I can say is do more. Don’t stop. Oh and it don’t hurt that you’re drop dead gorgeous too.
Thank you for the positive feedback :)
Once again, spot on reaction from another Masterpiece of Instrumentals. Thanks for taking the time to actually listen w/o so much talking, commentary at the end was great. Beautiful girl listening to a lost art in todays music scene is refreshing, welcome to Metal.
I know you've already done a handful of Pantera songs, but today would have been Dime's 52nd birthday if he was still with us. Any chance of reacting to something connected to him? Maybe something old off of Power Metal (We'll Meet Again has an amazing solo) or one of the Rebel Meets Rebel tracks?
Steve Poland Happy Birthday Dime 🤘
Steve Poland yes please
This song was actually written by the great Dave Mustaine & Cliff Burton.
You can notice a marked similarity to the notes of this song's intro and Hangar 18 by Megadeth.
No it wasn’t, the opening riff was Dave’s, and Cliff’s contribution were the bass line/swells, James and Lars wrote literally 80% of it
Goddess! Just discovered you. Where the Hell have you been all these years I needed your awesome reaction videos?
Someday soon you will get a loooong unrequested, request reaction list. You made me cry to Johnny tonight. And you made me cheer your reaction to my generation's blues, hip-hop, and thrash! Cheers! You made me smile after a long, hard work day. You actually feel my music. You Old Soul, you. Thank you and Cheers!
I love the look on your face because it was the same look I had when I listened to this 30 years ago.
I love your hair
Thank you!!
They are nice...I mean, it is nice
Hi Miss Pinky 😍😍😘😘 react to No Leaf Clover off the S&M album pleeeeeez
Fuck yeah! The only good song from that whole mess!
No Leaf Clover is absolutely amazing
Matt Holt What do you mean? That album is fucking awesome! Outlaw Torn, One, Ktulu, Bleeding Me, nearly all of the songs on there worked great with an orchestra. And James’ vocals were some of his best.
What a weirdo
Matt Holt idiot.......
Wonderful reaction to and amazing piece of music.
Also I love what you did with your hair! You look stunning.
Thank u hun :)
Join the crowd! Its hard to explain, but sooooo good. I saw you melt into the song at about 4:45. 🖖 longest songs you wish wouldn't end! One of the best reactions yet. Just listen, and react, being honest.... damn girl,... Your shook! LoL love it. I went to the Matallica concert on August 8th 2017 in Seattle. It was my 1st concert at 46yo, and my favorite band. They did not let me down!
Can you react on Bleeding me from S&M ?
No, origin is better.
The moment when Kirk Hammett comes in......
Will803 cant play Mustaines parts on this song, he fails...
DANG it's been a while since I've heard that one!
I've mastered every riff, , on air guitar..
*Your hair is really cute by the way!* 😍
All curly and stuff!
Awesome reaction. Your expressions are delightful.
I’m just going to say bleeding me great damn song from a album that some say ain’t that good but it is
I am thinking that anyone who doesn't think this albumn/CD isn't so great wasn't alive in the 1980's, and wasn't a young person back then who grew up with Metallica from "Kill em all" all the way up to "Hardwired..) And they likely never knew of Cliff Burton, at least enough to where he was a great bit of Metallica's sound, and the very reason they stayed in San Francisco, and avoided LA, I would like to believe that all of Metallica was anti-LA as far as their attitude and playing style, and they likely were but, they wanted Cliff in their band, and he said as long as they lived In San FRAN, NOT LA, he would be there bassist, to anyone who doesn't understand, LA was FULL of glam bands which are okay in my opinion, but, really, it had become a sesspool of so many glam bands who sang watered down metal, all of the bands started to look the same, and sound the same, Metallica were a band who stood apart, they were in San Fran, and played hard metal music, and they did it great, they had secured a following of fans who supported them rabidly. I would say that in that realm of good ole fashioned metal, the only band that sounds as good as they do is, Megadeth, yes, the band of their former lead guitarist. I love both Kirk Hammet (total hottie) and Dave Mustaine (also hot) and they are great guitarists, I know there are so many great and hot guitarists out there, and they were so plentiful in the 1980's, I LOVE SO MANY of em, but, Metallica has been my favorite band for many years, but, the years of Cliff Burton were really special, some things can never be recreated. And with all of the great music being made by Metallica, and many metal bands, many of these bands really unique, (GHOST) there will always be classics, that are always gonna be so "special". Okay, I'll shut up about it now.
Justin Voorheis it's their best song
I keep this better than master of puppets actually!
Miss Pink!! Loved your reaction!!! Great!!! Now You know what's Really Metallica means!!! Congrats!!!
cliff bass sounds are marvelous!!
pink its time for you do a reaction to Metallica - Halo on Fire that song its something about that song that i cant put on my tongue, it feels special and mindblowing every time i hear it
Yesssssssss
One of my favorites songs off the album
Please React To Audioslave "Like A Stone"
I’ve always felt like this song is telling a story with out the lyrics. Blew me away first time I heard it 30 plus years ago
one of the first metallica songs I learned on guitar. love this one.
one of The Best Dave Mustaine Riffs
Your comments about Metallica being so in synch and being made for each other is true.....but also goes for Tool as well I think.
Tool lmao
love to see you react to riffs or change ups I know are going. priceless
At the time this came out this was completely new. unheard. nothing even near this existed before. They have paved the way. Composing this was a landmark. They were young and wild and full of energy and created something so beautiful.
I can wait 15 minutes to go to sleep
Haha 😂🤗
King Diamond pic reminded me of Metallica Mercyful Fate Medley. That would be a great listen for you.
PinkMetalHead totally worth it. Great video. Thank you so much.
Damn, Im beginning to "hate" the things you say and the way you react to metal is not even funny anymore. Its so onpoint, so passionate, so sublime....I mean Damn, you make me feel so good about being a metalhead. You sure got it going on homegirl....Keep it up
This is one of those songs that you close your eyes and just experience.
And justice for all by Metallica. Your face says it all and is a joy to watch. When you are listening to true greatness .
Love this song it's amazing
But I have to say they were way better before the went through stuff
They were better before cliff died. R.I.P
They were better before James caught on fire
Just my opinion just sayin
You'd be right there dude
You kick ass! You should give Carcass a listen. Song like Heartwork, or Laviging Expectorate of Lysergide Composition. There a great band influenced a lot of metal musicians
Alcohalligan Not anything from Swansong?
Steve Ozone Sure Child's Play Or Blackstar
Holy Shit. Those albums are a blast from the past. I always liked Room 101 and buried dreams.
Steve Ozone buried dreams would be Heartwork. Polarized was good As Room 101. Not a fan of the Rot and Roll. Necrotisicm and Symphonies and Surgical Steel are my fave Carcass Albums and Heartwork is very special to me as well. Celtic Frost reactions would be fun lol
edge of darkness or buried dreams
Lots of love coming way over from INDIANA. Keep on 🎸 n Rollin. Get those curls bouncin
Wow. You make so happy watching you react. Metallica is fantastic...and so are you... bless you...really!
It seems as though you kinda got caught up on some of the reaaaallllllly repetitive parts. I have to pay attention to Cliff's bass parts on this one during those repetitive rhythms. Orion is truly his masterpiece, but I think his best playing is on this song. And, you nailed it. James did go through a lot, and he is usually the final say so when it comes to song structure along with Lars. This album in particular was made in 1984, so... hell, we're both 34 years old. Mustaine from Megadeth actually wrote the main riffs to this song and used it later for the Megadeth song Hangar 18. If you haven't heard it, you should definitely do it with Call of Ktulu fresh in mind.
I see your Hangar 18 video, now! 😂 I'm always so late. What did you think about the differences between each song? Which was better?
@DimebagVision I never said it was the same. I would guess that anyone who has no prior knowledge of Mustaine's involvement with Metallica would never connect Ktulu and Hangar.
Thank you Dave mustaine for writing metallicas best instrumental
timjenkins502 Orion and To Live Is To Die are both better
Austin Gonder nope I disagree
@timjenkens502 :
Mustaine was one of 4 writers of this song.
Orion Is Better IMO
Carlos Nava to me it's just gets boring halfway in
Ms. PinkMetalhead,
Through THIS channel (and I must mention Sir Weaboo 😎 lol) I have experienced FABULOUS memories along with your WONDERFUL reactions 😊 over many months of fan viewing.
YOU and many like YOU are working EXTREMELY hard to show the camaraderie of ❤ and support for Metal music in ALL its lustrous forms.
Let it be known how much WE appreciate YOU for all the love, effort and tears YOU have shown through it all. You truly do inspire!
So in closing... YOU ROCK!
And these horns are for You...
\m/ 😁 \m/
Thank u for the sweet comment. Love ya
Cliff Burton's bass nuance is insane. After all these years him with the bit of distortion and a wah still give me goosebumps sometimes.
Actually Dave Mustaine of Megadeth wrote this back when he was still in Metallica .it's a Kool song
Mustaine was one of 4 writers of the song. Writing credits says : Ulrich - Mustaine - Burton - Hetfield
Yes, he wrote the riff, solo, drum parts and of course the lyrics. Its all him. Lars isnt on drums its Dave Mustaine
Dave mustaine, co-wrote this instrumental before he was fired from Metallica
Actually the very same chord-progression is used in both Megadeth's "Hangar 18" and this song.
peeg100 One chord progression in my book doesn’t equal “co-writing” but you do have to give credit where it’s due. Also this song, wasn’t a song when Dave was in the band.
Yes, he is listed on the album as one of the songwriters
peeg100 Yes, I know. He is also listed on the song Ride the Lightning. Doesn’t mean he had any input in arrangement or production as those songs were just a pile of riffs at the point Dave left.
Micha Seals he is listed as the song writer
That there is the beautiful cliff burton my god I love that man
Pink
You are metal now and you will never go back.
Enjoy life changing the trip
It only gets better as the years pass on.
Dave Mustaine actually wrote this. It was one of the last songs he wrote for them.
He didn't write it alone, Ulrich, Hetfield and Burton are also credited.
Wyatt Birdwell mustaine wrote a very small part of the intro, so he can be glad to get any credit for this 1
ive seen metallica 14 times live...they are amazing
I love the intensity in her face as she gets down to this kinda music. Like she can straight up FEEL this song.
You definitely should react to this song live with the San Francisco Symphony! Just awesome!
I believe you are the greatest at reacting to videos. I have watched others, but there is no need to anymore. I have watched almost all of your reaction videos. I love them. Metallica is my favorite band of all time. You do them the justice that they deserve. I will only watch YOU!! Rock on pretty lady....
Every time I hear this piece, the way the bass starts out soft then builds gradually, i get the feeling of Ktulu emerging from the sea and getting vloser and closer. Chills!
Your great. Keep the content coming.
Love your enthusiasm for Metallica, and for exploring music in general. As always, keep doing what you do! :) You've done a few excellent reactions on cover songs, and in that vein I'd love to see you react/review Bad Wolves' cover of Zombie (The Cranberries)
