@Poweraddicts Hey how’s it going, great video by the way, my question for you is my carrier bearings on my front Dana 30 on my 1997 XJ are pitted and worn out, and so I want to replace them and possibly do the pinion bearings as well although I don’t know if those are bad but they are 27 years old lol, so when replacing just the bearings can you replace them and keep the same shim setup or are you supposed to measure backlash and preload to get a proper wear pattern on that ring gear. I’m totally unsure what to do this is all new to me. Thanks ahead of time👍
It really isn't that hard but it is also very time consuming! I have no patience at all so that makes it even worse ... LOL. But ... whew .. I finally got it done.

More than likely it's gonna change the settings. I have seen simply installing a new pinion yoke throw the preload off.
