I have a DRO on my Lathe. Would you please help me out. I'm still learning about a number of features, with a DRO. So what is this feature (ALE) When you are using this ALE?? Currently I haven't been using my email, because it's not working.
Why do you always hold round parts on the diameter in the vise. It's much safer to hold on the ends and does not damage the surface. You can get ER collets specifically for taps but standard ER collets will easily grip a tap tight enough without having to use the bolts.

Your turning is okay, but your boring and tapping is amateurish in that there are far better procedures. (Alignment, security, time spent). But you are young and an enthusiast, so that will come with time. 🙂

Just an FYI those are hand taps should not be power tapping
Or just grab the tap with a taper shank drill chuck and float the tail stock
