There is so much hate in the comments, this is a great video, there is no reason to hate on it

I love how they show all body types. It shows that even if you’re skinny you still don’t look like a mannequin.

why are they being so mean to those mannequinsヽ(*゚ー゚*)ノ

I think mannequins should have bodies that are the average body of a woman wherever this mannequin may be. If this mannequin is in the United States, it would have a body that looks like the average American woman. Still, no matter what effort is put in, someone always complains.

Well done folks--often brands just pile onto some internet trend, but this is a logical tie-in that matches with your big brand message.

They are just unrealistic, why can't companies make them more real, maybe with a little bit more fat on them.

Dove: Represent our diverse bodies - No male mannequins...
Let's celebrate beauty of all ages, ethnicities, shapes and sizes - but females only.

Women is the target ausdience for this video. I guarentee that like 95% of the people watching this are female. Sure, if the audience was equal genders im sure they would of included men. BUt it isn't, so they didn't.

Anna buddle Thank you for your answer. It's not that it's a big deal, I just found Dove's message a little contradictory. This reminded me of an animated commercial for nurses I saw a few years ago, with literally hundreds of nurses - yet there was not even a single male, like they don't even exist. Which I think is a poor reflection of today's society.

Remember that Dove is owned by the same people who own axe body spray. Dove's "brand values are that all women are beautiful and axe's is just let's use women for sex. They just create brands with brand values to market towards different people. Dove saying all women are beautiful is just them trying to get you to buy their product. The same goes for axe. They don't actually have values at all, they just want to make more money

Good on them to try to emphasize the need to accept bodies of all types, but it just gets lost in the whole "look at how long I can old this pose" vibe that the mannequin challenge fad was. #ThumbsDown.

  • @dsmith8196
    @dsmith8196 7 років тому +15

Biggest friggin hypocrites in the market. Their entire product range is sold on the basis of "you don't look as good as you could" (but you could be if you use Dove). Their entire business depends on women feeling that they are just not quite good enough. Then they come out with this 'real beauty' crap. Why don't women feel that they are beautiful enough?? BECAUSE DOVE HAVE BEEN TELLING THEM SO FOR YEARS AND YEARS.

    • @annabuddle494

ahh get your facts straight. I get your theroy, but it really only works with makeup. Makeup brands do that, making it seem like your freckles aren't pretty so you need foundation, you eyes will look amazing if you buy our $50 dollar eyshadow plalate etc etc. Dove sells skin care products, so that your skin wont be as oily, or it'll be soft and you can just be proud of yourself and feel like you dont need to change yourself in any way. Dove is about making you feel the best you can be without feeling pressured to look or feel a certain way.

    • @dsmith8196

oh. yeah I see what you mean. I guess that's why they call it a "beauty bar" and market it as "Dove Beauty Bar is more than just a cleanser-it's a must-have beauty product". But yeah, sure, what they really mean is they care about your skin. Got it. Thanks.

Kitty Pop because mannequins are made for us, to represent us. And if all mannequins are made of the exact same size and shape, then technically, it's not doing its job right

Sorry I rlly support most dove videos but this one....I have the exact body of those mannequins, so it’s not like it’s an “unattainable” beauty standard. Their point is that the mannequins should be the average woman’s shape, but those companies are just trying to sell clothes, and they look *and* sell better on these sizes.
