      I do find anything involving Bluetooth is still a bit hit or miss these days and sometimes a software update does fix buggy behaviour.

    Do you think bmw would release a software update to rectify the Bluetooth connectivity issues

    • @TheWrittleRider
      @TheWrittleRider  2 роки тому

      Hi CF, Thanks for watching and your question. To be completely honest Bluetooth issues are very common not just on this bike but others also and sometimes it also depends what peripherals you are linking, if their firmware is up to date and in what order. If problems persist I would recommend talking to BMW to ensure your software is up to date and also making sure all your peripherals have the latest firmware. If still no joy after this then perhaps a factory reset would help on everything.
      Good luck with it all working & When your out next… Ride Safe!

    Question - is it possible to use any blue tooth in ear head phones or must you buy a proper helmet headset?

    • @TheWrittleRider
      @TheWrittleRider  3 роки тому

      Hi Robert, thanks for watching and for your question. I suppose as long as the TFT finds your earphones then it will work. So no it does not have to be a headset. It’s going to be a little bit of trial and error though as I do find some devices via Bluetooth just don’t like talking to each other. Bluetooth is not a perfect technology either even after so many years.

    Have you had any issues with when you are connected to a group intercom the music goes mute?
    Done the same connection procedure as you by the way on my R1250GS with, Sena 20 Evo, mobile cradle and a android phone.
    I can see the song is playing on the TFT screen and I can pause it and start it again but the music does not come through the speakers in to the helmet.
    If I leave the group intercom, I then can control my music via the TFT and hear it again.
    Would be nice to acually have both as it did work when I don`t connect to the TFT sceen and only pair the Sena to the phone.
    Thanks for the video!

    • @TheWrittleRider
      @TheWrittleRider  8 місяців тому

      Hi KJ, Thansk for watching and for your comments. Honestly I have not tried to listen to music as I like to stay focused when I ride and I may get too into the music! I do have connection issues though. For example when I start the bike and then start my senna the bike may connect to my phone and not the head set and then I need to go into settings and select the headset so there are definite gremlins in the systems.
      Making sure you have the most up to date firm ware is always recommended so this may help if you’re not up to date.
      Otherwise Senna support or your local BMW dealer may be able to assist.
      Wish you all the best with it and thanks again for watching.

      Hi Gary,
      Thanks for watching and your question.
      To be totally honest I have never used the built in radio so cannot really offer any light on this point.
      Perhaps a software update could help.
      Often their are gremlins running around all these Bluetooth devices and an update or factory reset can help.
      Apologies that I cannot give a definite answer.
      I can see this is a topic of discussion on Sena website.
      Final option would be to listen to radio from your phone over Bluetooth.
      All the best and good luck resolving the issue.

      @@jetrex1986 Sorry to hear your problems, Bluetooth can be so frustrating. My advise would be to delete all connections, zero your earpiece back to factory settings and then connect the earpiece to the head unit ( not the sat Nav ). Make sure you connect your phone to the head unit also and not to the ear piece. If this fails possibly your bike may need it’s firmware updating, your local dealer should be able to advise if your up to date or not. After saying all of this sometimes some devices just don’t work, I’ve found Bluetooth to be a far from perfect technology and with more than one device involved (phone / head unit / Nav ) it can sometimes just not work.

    • @TheWrittleRider
      @TheWrittleRider  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Adie,
      Thanks for watching and for your question.
      Essentially all you should need to do is set your Cardo to ‘Pair Mode’ as per the Cardo instruction manual and then go to settings on the TFT and click along with the BMW wheel to connect to head set and it should find your Cardo.
      Once the headset is connected then simply follow the same steps to then connect your phone to the BMW TFT.
      I do find this Bluetooth technology to be very glitchy and mine often unpairs even when I just stop for petrol so have to pair again when I restart the bike.
      If you have used your Cardo to pair to other devices before it may help to factory reset the Cardo ( you’ll lose your presets of course if you have any) and then try again.
      Defiantly pairing the headset to the TFT and then the Phone is the best way round.
      Also make sure your Cardo is updated to latest available software.
      Be patient with it and if all else fails take the bike to BMW as it may have a need for a software update.
      Good luck and let me know how you get on.
      Cheers and when your out next ride safe.

      Hi Stephen, thanks for watching and for your question. I’ll have a look into this one and come back to you as I have not yet used the voice from the BMW Nav yet, I usually just use the visual of the map. Currently I just concentrate on getting the phone on the bike to link. For that you have to connect the headset / helmet to the bike and then the phone to the bike. Like I say I’ll have a play around today with the set up and see what I can figure out for you.

      @@derekholme6922 Hi Derek,
      So far as I am concerned and if I’m reading it right, the only disadvantage in setting it up how you have is that any phone calls incoming or outgoing you will have to make it receive by directly interacting with your HJC unit on your lid and not with the BMW switch gear. If you can live with that trade off then it sounds fine to me. Bluetooth can be such a temperamental technology so once it’s working in such a complex set up let it be!
      Even with just my single headset it sometimes loses connection in between short stops so it’s far from perfect and very much trial and error for what works for you!

    The BMW connect app & TFT accept other brands of communication but you don't have all the functionalities ( like volumecontrol ) and the connection is not always sure. BMW wants that you buy a bmw helmet with their communicationssystems. And everybody finds it normal that you buy a +20K motorcycle with a crapy communication system...

    • @TheWrittleRider
      @TheWrittleRider  3 роки тому

      Hi Marc, thanks for viewing and taking the time to comment.
      I think the advent of Cardo and Sena Means that most people have a decent comms unit already installed so when they go to buy a bike from BMW to buy a new lid and a brand-new coms system is going to be a lot of money.
      If someone is starting out from scratch then I think there is more possibility that this particular person may buy a BMW lid and BMW communications.
      For me the system works quite well and I don’t really experience much dropout so long as I make sure I connect the phone and the head unit directly to the TFT.
      This means there is no confusion between devices.
      I agree if your buying an expensive bike you should not scrimp on equipment and extras, but perhaps it’s all about the timing.
      Thanks for viewing and when your out next please do ... Ride Safe!
