Jyn & Ryl: We hope this one is just as fun.
Everyone who's seen "Se7en" (1995): Oh, you sweet summer child...
GET THIS THING OFF OF ME!!
@@reservoirdude92 😨
LOL...that's EXACTLY what I said out loud...
@@Joshu_Y
Alonzo Harris: My Nigga! (Chuckles fondly)
"it can't end like this" "well it is ending like this" 😂😂😂
@scottdaren3091 The studio felt the same way and tried to get the ending changed to a less down beat one, but the director refused.
I had to pause I was laughing so hard at that line.🤣
@@justindenney-hall5875there is another ending where Somerset kills Jon Doe to save Mills.
Is Mills supposed to get executed as wrath for killing John Doe or what's the plan for him?
@@svenpoletka5236 depends on which state they live in but I think the mental trauma is what Jon Doe was going for, pretty much dead inside.
Yassssss. Can't wait for Ryl to guess the entire plot inside of 30 seconds
I want them to watch all of David Fincher's films. Tell us who the villain is in 'The Game,' 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,' and 'The Social Network.' 😂
HaHaHa…. For real 🤣
lol, no doubts.
Fun facts time...Alternative ending.Somerset kills John Doe and thus,he doesn't complete his mission. It was written in the script, but not filmed. And oh yea, there was a sequel with Somersets character and the script that was going to be the sequel was the film Suspect Zero.
For real. Detective First Grade right there...
Haha she called it when the killer acts like a reporter
Jus randomly called it! Detective ryl 😊 ♥
Easy to call it, when they seen the movie already
They were joking... and it wasn't even the first ramdom dude they made the joke about. Stop embarrassing yourself @@Mittens.49
Oh, this is rough one. Whenever someone has a box. Ask them "WHATS IN THE BOX?!"
I’m dying..I always say “what’s in box” with some intensity😅some people get it and others are like ummm sneakers?
Jack is in the box
Whenever you get pizza delivered.
I always do tha around people who've never watched se7en. Their faces are worth EVERYTHING
My mind goes to Justin Timberlake 😆 🤣 🍆
The acting of those three in the last scene is perfection. The calm of Spacey, the desperation of Freeman and the panic/wrath of Pitt. I thought the guess of it being the baby in the box was awesome, it's a theory I had never heard before and would have been just as crazy of an ending. Virtual hug, young ladies.
The post-reaction commentary on this one was quite something. This film had y'all looking in all directions trying make sense of it. 🤣
40:26 "Ernest Hemingway once wrote: 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part."
Back then the Bible was taught in schools.
Society didn't have hardly any of the problems today.
@@move_i_got_this5659and when was this mythical happy time of yours? Was it before soap? 😂
@@zairac2564 Not it was before the aboslute takeover of corporate consumeristic propaganda that has dumbed the younger generations down into pathetic automatonic credit card customers (aka willing indentured servants for whatever virtual trend or plastic tech gizmo is fashionable for the season). Pathetic and brainless and unprincipled.
I appreciate the use of punctuation in your comment. I haven't seen the quote inside the quote written properly since college. Kudos to you.
@@move_i_got_this5659 Completely naive.
The blood on his shirt when he entered the police station was Mill's wife's blood!
Always such fun re-watching these movies with you two. I absolutely love how much you ladies truly invest in these films and follow with such thoughtful discussion. Thanks y'all.
❤️❤️
Wow, that hug took a lot to get done. LOL
Lol 😂
Hey! A new reaction of Jyn x Ryl! I think I will get something to eat and enjoy this reaction...
You’ve probably heard people say, “What’s in the box!” before. I’ve done it for years when I get a big package as a gift.
There's no jury on Earth that would convict Brad's character for what he did. Hell, I doubt it'd even get to trial.
Probably claim temp insanity, though I would think the other cops would just say Spacey went for his gun or something and it was a justified killing.
lol i've never seen anyone guess something worse in the box.
Yeah, this is definitely a first. Usually it's confusion and panic, meanwhile here the first guess was "ITS A FETUS, ISNT IT?"
Yeah, the fetus would have been barely an inch long.
I think 1995 for Kevin Spacey was an all star year! This, Usual Suspects , swimming with sharks, and Outbreak
Turns out Spacey was perfect for this roll.
@@johnbrowne2170 Why?
@@drewf8619 Creepy as hell in real life.
@@johnbrowne2170 I see.
David Fincher's second feature film, like his first, “Alien 3”, appears to be a kind of dark, nihilistic nightmare. Every image resembles a painting, every location is a metaphor. The director had special set designs developed for the crime scenes, which were symbolically modeled on the respective deadly sins.
When David Mills (Pitt) shoots the serial killer John Doe (Spacey), only John Doe “wins” because that is exactly what he wanted.
What's more, Mills also has to stand trial and goes to prison...
Fincher's dark, yet extremely clever cult shocker set genre standards. 🤩
Fincher was definitely hindered, creatively, but he established cinematic talent (after being an established, iconic music video director) from the jump.
Fincher made Alien 3? That makes total sense!
Another great reaction ladies thanks sending love from the UK 🌸
Plot Twist : there's only M&ms in the box. Morgan Freeman just wanted him dead.
John doe just wanted to give Mills a gift...
You guys are the smartest reactors I've seen. You seem to know everything that is going in every movie
Even to this day this movie is a masterpiece! They don’t make movies like this anymore :(
David Fincher, as he has from here and since, directed the HELL out of this film. Thematically, it's so outside of a typical studio-backed thriller that I'm shocked it was even greenlit. Technically, it's got so much style to match with the absolute darkness in its blood.
I truly envy theater goers in 1995 experiencing a film like this for the first time on the big screen.
Edit: this was also my introduction to David Bowie, believe it or not haha
I take pride in fact I did see it on big screen.
@@dab_family9405I would too lol
Remember before john doe walked in, the officer at the desk was telling Mills, about his wife calling, that's also a Horrible idea of her possibly being threatened by john doe at that time
34:05 The fact that he rocked back and forth had nothing to do with his excitement. The car just bounced because of the bumps on the scraggly road.😁
You two are fantastic ! Thanks for the videos and reactions... Never stop !!!!
@17:14 BRUH! How? How does she do it? 😂
😅😅
morgan freeman as detective somerset.
brad pitt as detective mills.
kevin spacey as himself. 😂
😂😂😂
Virtual Hug ❤
"It can't end like this."
"It is ending like this."
😂
You two are my favorite reactors.
Awesome reaction as always ❤
You so smart Ryl ❤ You read plotwist always early.
I'm excited about this.
Your guesses of what's in the box are insane jesus christ
Yeah, like I've never actually seen someone guess something WORSE than Gwyneth paltrows head, but here we are...
Great reaction y’all. 😊👏👏 I liked the jump scares. R you called it on the photographer on the stairs. It was him. 👏👏🥰
This was my favourite movie in junior high school.
There is an alternate ending in the special edition that wasn’t filmed but story boarded where Somerset shoots John Doe instead of Mills. Mills looks at him in shock and Somerset says “I’m retiring anyways” so to spare Mills and to thwart John Doe.
The opening credits song is “Closer-Precursor” by Nine Inch Nails.
Definitely don't think detective Mills would be prosecuted in a situation like this. Not in that world especially.
I honestly cried with Brad when he realized his wife was actually dead.. a head in a box!!! Just like you said, she was perfect.. AND PREGNANT 😭 Great reaction ladies! A twisted tale indeed
You ladies are extremely sharp.
I love when a movie keeps your interest. It makes you ask yourself ...who, what and why?. I enjoyed you ladies reactions. Great choice.
"John Doe got the upper hand" - a metaphor for life.
This is a good movie. It very dark and twisted with an amazing cast. Having Kevin Spacey playing John Doe was the perfect choice. When Somerset stated this, it would not have a happy ending. I completeltly agree. But I knew a twist was coming. I just didn't expect it was gonna end the way that it did. Talking about a crazy way to end the movie. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing Jyn & Ryl
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant film. I'd even say genre-defining.
This was a fun movie ! I really enjoyed its tone and some of more humorous moments that Morgan and Brad shared together ! This wasn’t a lighthearted film at all like the poster suggests . This is almost dark in a way but it still is pretty funny when they talk about books. Seven- a dark comedy with heavy overtones of satire . It also has musical like qualities . You guys really nailed this one a great episode !!
Love this one 😊
Watch Morgan Freeman with Clint Eastwood in Million Dollar Baby 😊
Oh man that's a sad one. I cried. Can't watch it again.
That was a one and done for me 😢
Both Beautiful Love y’all Channel ❤️❤️
Love the credits sequence in this too. Very innovative at that time, but still is IMO
I sit here and watch y'all easily figure stuff out that I couldn't when I first saw it.
That was a quality reaction to *the cough* 😏
Yeah, this will be fun like Diehard... 🤣🤣🤣
💀😂
I love ur videos reactions.
Thank you ❤️
Yes, this was a very disturbing movie. When I first saw it I couldn't sleep all night, thinking about my newborn daughter and how I would react to someone hurting her like the characters in the movie. You guys were very on point throughout the movie and I'm surprised that you're not detectives too. Thanks for reacting and keep up the great work.
💜💜
How is Mills getting blame in this? How can you even argue that?
16:35. You're welcome.
I think we were all waiting for that scare jump! 🤣
As I say to all reactors who watch "Seven": No jury in the world will convict Mills after hearing that tape.
24:48 His arm wasn't broken. When Brad Pitt fell on to the pile of garbage bags in the earlier scene, he lacerated his hand down to the bone. He needed stitches and his character had bandages on his hand after that point so the actor could keep filming while bandaged up.
This movie is sooo good. Most people don't see the end coming. Kevin Spacey plays evil people well, because he is one in real life
Ooh... This should be good. Excellent movie.
The trip is this, until the last 2 deaths, the killer planned everything out, to the day, because the first 5 deaths were all related in different ways
Advice: Don’t Guess.
Let the story unfold as the writers, actors, and directors intended.
Be a spectator without expectation or speculation.
Allow them to teach or entertain you.
Critique or praise after the credits roll.
"i was wondering if a dead person could have goosebumps" whaaaaa that never even occured to me, that's some serious investigator-hat stuff to think of
I recommend watching The Devil's Advocate and another Brad Pitt movie, The Devil's Own
Devil's advocate is Pacino's magnum opus imo, which is really saying something, so these are banger suggestions
Wild that y'all would blame David. He wanted to make the world a better place and you're blaming him for the actions of a psychopath.
I mean, David was a good guy... but he's also pretty dumb tbh, and I personally believe he messed up a LOT, and thinking he's flawless and didn't screw up big time is kinda missing the point.
@@earthresident9022 I am just sayin' you shouldn't victim blame. The dude lost his family tragically and they're like... It's David's fault for taking the job. It's stupid. Who tf said he's flawless? Making mistakes doesn't make him responsible for another persons choices/behaviors. Weirdo.
That was a bizarre take alright.
@@GramadinGG I'm not saying it's his fault for taking the job, I'm saying he shouldn't have given his goddamn name away, should have controlled his temper, and had some restraint. And that's the point. And don't call me weirdo, I'm stating my interpretation, which is almost definitely true, and you should probably learn to... yknow, think with the head and not the heart. David was a good soul, but he was naive, impatient, and also kinda arrogant. He wasn't cut out for homicide or the city itself.
40:42 Jyn! 🤣
Oh and one more thing, as good as this movie is , top of the game acting and scenery, screenplay. I never watched this movie as entertainment, Js. It’s dark. A little disturbing. 👏👏😊
"I just don't think I can continue to live in a place that embraces and nurtures apathy as if it was... virtue." What former idealist hasn't been there? Somerset is right, sadly. People don't want a champion, and if one rises, they'll go the way of Cool Hand Luke, JoJo Rabbit's mom, JFK, and Gandhi, while the mainstream shrugs and gets back to their cheeseburgers, drugs, and TV.
This script hits hard, one jeremiad after another, coming from more than one quarter. I like it almost as much as Silence of the Lambs (I prefer happy endings). Anyhoo, good reaction, Jyn and Ryl! Keep up the good work!
😂😂😂😂😂 I know this will blow our girls minds 😂😂
I saw this movie in theater every good 👍 A young Brad Pitt.
Jyn, you wanted a jump scare (you said that in an earlier video) so you now have it 😉 and a film which seems to haunt all those reacting to it🤷ask and you shall receive 😁
😂👍🏾
❤ Jyn ❤
To me Kevin Spacey's character is Simply evil. And in this movie, evil won.
He plays evil very well probably because he's pretty evil in real life lol
@@BigMoore1232 From what I've heard I agree!
I always hated that Mills didn’t take his time with John Doe.
Top 5 movies ever
Ryl - excellent point about Spacey killing an innocent (Mill's Wife) in his plan to have himself killed for Envy (just shows that he was a hypocrite - as a Sumerset noted he enjoyed killing - not forced to do so).
I don't know how your Justice System works in your nation (you are in the Carribian(sp) - many islands/and nations down there -and not sure from which you reside. But here in America we have Juries mostly (unless the acussed agrees with a "plea" or with a judge determining guilt). A Jury would know Mills killed the SOB, and then render Mills "Innocent" via Jury Nullification. Basically the jury would say "ya we know he killed the bastard, but we would have too under the circumstances, so we rule him innocent"........so he can walk free.
So Mill will have to be in county jail for 6 months until his trial, then a 2 week trial, then a 1 day jury rulling, and then would be freed via the jury.
I'll wait to watch this movie until I've seen the first six.
Brad pitt really got hurt and kept going with the scene and then got a ton of stitches...
High you groovy chix.. lovelovelove ❤️🌷✌🏻
This film reminds you just how important atmosphere and filming on location is, this is not a film you could film in sunny California. (I WAS WRONG, see below)
I'd like to think that this film really made people wise up to the horrors of the world. Lots of sick people like this out there, even if this is a made up film. You can't always be safe and prepared but you can lower the risks.
Your reactions to these types of films, true crime murder mysteries are very interesting.
This film was shot in California.
@@chriscox8095 "It’s downtown Los Angeles, with the relentless California sunshine carefully screened out and with rain machines in overdrive."
wow, so it's actually a great example of movie magic and vision, amazing

Great video! The "Chloe x Halle" of reactions
Awww thanks 🥰
Congratulations to watching a movie about Gotham City without Batman
Mills would get a very light sentence due to the circumstances but of course his life is indeed over because of what happened, it's not something he will ever be able to forget nor forgive himself for (if he wouldn't have taken the job and all that). All your points about why it is not his fault, wouldn't really be accepted by him, only the guilt.
Yeah, even if he gets out, he'll just be a shell of the optimistic and naive man he once was...
Classic music isn't copyrighted.
Ryl you speak about "anton" at first i was thinking the movie "Gattiga", then figured it out, you are talking about "No Country for Old men" - and yes Anton had a "code" correct.
Note that Anton gave Lewellen an out via that phone call - basically let me kill you and your wife I'll spare, instead Lewellen got mad and rejected that offer, refusing to admit he was outmatched (unlike the Sheriff - who admitted he was outmatched and retired alive) - resulting in him and his wife being killed by Anton.
Lewellen was no hero in my book, so not broke up over him dying (more broke up over his wife dying) - why? Because i walked into a place with drugs/money and a dying man, and instead of calling the cops right then and there, he takes the money, then 10 hours later goes back to give the gut shot guy water!!!!!!!!!! Gut shot = bleed out. You find the guy alive and call the cops, the guy lives. but Lewellen cared more about the money so did not call the cops and took the money instead.
Lewellen failed the moral test from the start and it cost him his live, the Mexican drug dealers life, and his wife's life.
Mills will probably get a lot of leniency in court because of the circumstances, but of course he will be scarred for life. It is highly unlikely he will recover from this and will most likely spend the rest of his life in mental institutions.
JACK IN THE BOOOOOOX!
You're both so adorable 😂
You need to watch this one again.
In 3 years, when they recover.
@55:45 😂 i thought you might skip the hug 🤣 .. don't blame ya great movie, i don't like much either.. they could have done the quote and the end and called it good. 😅🤷♂️
What's in the box?
...*smiles in Justin Timberlake
I just realized the police captain is Lee Emery.
_What if he is a really intelligent and calm guy?
_Probably.
_Like Keyzer Soze ...
Even knowing that this ending was more like a modified Plan B for John Doe, I didnt like the ending years ago cause "Wrath" wasn't killed at the end. Now I think it is even a better ending, cause Wrath (although being a cardinal sin) wasnt killed off in the movie, cause it's the most pure sin of all seven sins. John Doe rewrote the list of the cardinal sins in his view and he is not wrong, Wrath is being used by good and bad people the same way. It causes the most debate, cause nearly everyone can relate in some situations.
The purpose of the killer was to shock the public so that it sticks in the public's minds AND provide a warning to those who sin. He was punishing the first 5 he killed, envy was his sin for which he was wanting Mills to punish him and Mills would be punished for his wrath by being charged in the killing.
@@Scary__fun Wrath not being punished like the others tells a lot, that was my point
His wife’s Head was in the box.
Also, we have (supposedly) due process in this country, even evil people like John Doe deserve their day in court according to law. I'm sure mills will get off light, because it was a "crime" of passion, he couldn't be sane in that moment.
🫣👍
