If you're wanna see the ultimate serial killer film, watch John McNaughton's ''Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer'' (1986), tho be warned, it is very disturbing. His (John MacNaughton) movie ''Mad Dog & Glory'' (1993) with Robert De Niro, Bill Murray & Uma Thurman is another excellent (and also very funny) film that nobody talks about.
Guys, you definitely have to do a reaction to this movie, which is a thriller from 2003 called "Identity." I recommend it. It's about a serial killer with several personalities. I'm not going to spoil more of it, just watch it, take care.
Mills’ temper was evident when John Doe was posing as the photographer, so he knew he could provoke him to become wrath, that was his reason for killing Tracy. He had to do something that would be so severe that it would be inevitable. They did a good job of showing us what a hothead Mills was through the entire movie.
*"He's a NUTBAG!! Just because he's got a library card, that doesn't make him Yoda."* - One of THE funniest lines in a serious movie. Brad killed this role and held his own with 2 legends
Zuff’s predictions are usually so off the wall but in a movie as insane as this one he was dead on about a lot! 😂 idk how Rob stayed quiet. definitely a classic 💯
welcome to saying "what's in the box!?" in the same inflection as this movie everytime anyone says something like "what's in there" 😂 One of the best movies ever made, every piece is perfectly written and acted, a cinema masterpiece
The scene with the guy who was forced into the lust murder is still one of the most chilling things I have ever seen. It's the first movie scene that I can remember literally making my skin crawl.
Goop reference in the beginning had me CRYING 😂 Also , this movie truly is unforgettable. I was a little young to watch this but it really is disturbing but well made.
Brad Pitt actually broke his arm during that chase scene but just kept filming. The final few minutes, no matter how many times I’ve seen it, when he says “she begged for her life and the life of the baby inside her” and the “oh, he didn’t know” and then the heartbreak on his face…I get chills every time.
As a Gen X viewer I am always delighted when someone who was an A list Actress during my generation (an Oscar Winner and was engaged to Brad Pitt at one time), but is only somewhat familiar to you guys because of VAGINA CANDLES. The entertainment value in this channel is limitless
John Doe killing Gwenyth was out of envy that him trying to live “normal” and him becoming envy was to trigger Brad to become wrath. I remember watching this when I was younger…. Omg i was so scarred as a kid. Lol. But still one of my favorite movies. And -knocking on wood- that they don’t remake it or make a sequel. So good.
Two other 90’s crime thrillers I grew up loving are The Bone Collector (1999) with Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie and Kiss The Girls (1997) with Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. They don’t have the Fincher artistic eye or reputation but they were 90’s classics. Lots of crime thrillers back then!
Everytime I watch Seven I think about The Bone Collector. I was just talking about the two today, in fact. They're both super dark crime/mistery drama. They're both masterpieces. I still think about a super f*cked up scene that involves certain critters from the gutters in that movie. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about... 😬🤢
@@iulia.bianca.b yeah thanks for the reminder!! Lol 🤢 You should watch Kiss the Girls. It’s based off of one of James Paterson’s novels from his Alex Cross series. Another movie from this novel series is Along Came a Spider (2001) with Morgan Freeman returning as Alex Cross
I wanted to hate Brad Pitt growing up because it seemed unfair for such a handsome guy to also be talented, and nice to people in real life...he does so much charity. He also stood up to Weinstein when nobody else would and got physical with him, so total respect for that. Brad is a real dude. He's probably the only celeb I'd get nervous in front of if I ever met him in person. That and Gal Gadot...but for two COMPLETELY different reasons.
The fingerprint tech is Morgan’s son. The director didn’t tell the actor who played the cop who stood over the sloth victim that he was going to be alive so when he gasped that was the actors genuine reaction. Gwyneth and Brad were dating at this time. Gwyneth has done music, she was on the Show Glee and she sang on one of my favourite mashups they did doing Rihanna’s some umbrella with the song singing in the rain. She has also done other music as well. She also won an Oscar for the movie Shakespeare in love.
Fun fact: Denzel Washington turned down the roll of Dectective Mills. He read the script and thought it was too demonic. After he saw the film, though, he said he blew it. Lol ❤
@@011mph Denzel Washington would've been too young though. Even though he would've been 40 at that time, he was still looking too young to fit the role Morgan Freeman fit perfectly.
A good follow up to this movie would be Cure (1997). A unique crime film that does have some basic similarities to Se7en, but entirely engrossing as well.
Tracy & Mills normal life was the object of John Does sin Envy her death was required to complete his plan in turning Detective Mills into the sin of Wrath.
Still such a good movie, and extra creepy for me since it's not supernatural, it's just a guy who could be anyone you pass on the street. that's the stuff that freaks me out more than monsters or ghosts or whatever. Even though he didn't kill David to punish him for being wrath, he basically ruined his entire life so still basically his victim. Although it's horrific I kinda like that it's not a 'happy' ending, the bad guy actually got his way in the end which makes it that much more horrific.
The incredible part is there were no on-screen murders except for a cop murdering the suspect. And still it's one of the most disturbing crime thrillers.
I remember watching this in the theater with my older brother and sister and it scared the hell out of me! It was the first R Rated movie I saw! The twist ending as well as the victim Sloth being found alive were on Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments.
Film theories say this movie takes place in Gotham City before there was ever a Batman. Zuff getting Batman vibes is spot on. They never mention the city by name
You are so right about the city feeling like Gotham. It's such a dark movie. Well done. The closing line of this movie is so good. A movie with a similar vibe is Bone Collector.
"This city isn't real". great observation mate. At no point in the film does it mention the name or state. It's almost like the city is Purgatory itself. Also, you are right. Mindhunter is one of those class series that warrant more than one watch.
Thanks, Bryce! Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Zuff! 📦 One of the all-time greats... still gut-wrenching, even after countless re-watches. ෴ Bryce's joke about Rob's room containing "Goop vagina candles" was legendary... I achieved a very needed full-body laugh from that. Cheers! 🍻
Loved this reaction!! One of my favorite movies. The vagina candles killed me 😭 Also, correct that Spacey is Envy. His reason for killing Gwyneth Paltrow is because he creates Wrath in it, but it also ties into him dying himself: his Envy of the life he wanted made him kill innocents. Therefore, he deserved to die as well. And he completes the 7th sin with who he kills. This movie is seared into my brain too, it extremely well done!
Hi guys)) Thank you for your reaction, the plot of the film is not bad, but it is very dark😬 If you like similar films and you haven't watched them yet, I suggest The Cell, 2000, The Bone Collector ,1999. It would be great to see your reaction to them, thks))
The last 20 or so minutes was wild. The whole scene had this buildup of dread and suspense. You knew something was coming but you didn't know how or when. That twist no one saw coming. We wouldn't get something like that until Saw came out 10 years later. I don't really blame Mills for killing John Doe in all honesty. But it does make you think what if he didn't. Either way, I think Mills might have a bit of resentment towards Somerset for not telling him the truth. But to be fair, I think Somerset would had still found a way to tell him. Just sucks that John Doe beat him to the punch.
One of my favorite movies and personally my favorite of Brad Pitts catalog! Seven is definitely a movie where you pick up something different everytime you rewatch. Great reaction guys, glad you enjoyed the film.
David Fincher was fortunate to get this movie. the only thing he'd done at this point was Alien 3 and that was a train wreck. what saved him is how adamantly Sigourney Weaver defended him in the press. Sigourney backed him as a real talent and up-and-coming visionary.... this is what sort of made the producer of this film decide to take a shot on Fincher... the rest is history. Fincher still had to fight for the ending. the studios wanted a happier ending, but Brad Pitt (who only accepted the role on a promise from fincher that he wouldn't change anything) went to bat for Fincher against the studio and threated to pull himself out of the film if they changed the ending. Brad Pitt was also responsible for getting Kevin Spacey to play John Doe. John doe kept saying he admired Pitt... he envied pitt. he wanted to be him and he wanted the life. Zuff actually guessed it but he had morgan freeman instead of Pitt.
Envy was John Doe, who was jealous of detective Mills who had a normal life with a loving wife and a baby on the way. He does say that in the final scene. "It seems envy is my sin".
Guys, you definitely have to do a reaction to this movie, which is a thriller from 2003 called "Identity." I recommend it. It's about a serial killer with several personalities. I'm not going to spoil more of it, just watch it, take care.

I hate it when people predict what's gonna happen, it's like okay what are you fishing for, an applause if you're actually right? Okay then you're the smardy while sucking the suspense out for everyone watching..
Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow were also engaged. She starred in The Talented Mr. Ripley and Shallow Hal - which you should see because it's a comedy starring Jack Black.

Except Alvin's the only one without a hat
Each chipmunk they're unintentionally representing fits their personalities so well.

One of the best final lines of a movie EVER.
Here’s some shows I recommend: The Wilds, The Society, Looking for Alaska, Harlan Cobens Shelter, Insatiable, On My Block, The Secret Circle,
Mills shot an unarmed suspect in custody. He is definitely going to jail. They will just take the circumstances into consideration. It wasn't premeditated. It was a crime of passion. So not 1st degree murder.
"Ernest Hemmingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part."
Seven influenced a lot of cinema that followed and still does today. Disturbing but masterful film from Fincher.
You will love "Eye see you' with sly Stallon.

YES. My fav crime movie
No, the iconic line is "what's in the box?".
In Jon Doe's mind, he was sinless until he envied Mill's wife and killed her. So after that Doe knew he was justified in being killed by Mills.
