WIlliams suffered from an extreme case of Lewy Body Dementia. And while it was not diagnosed until after his death, it is believed to be the reason for his extreme anxiety, depression, and paranoia. The doctors who performed the autopsy said it was one of the worst cases they had ever seen. He knew he had a brain disorder. He was degrading rapidly and did not want to get to the point where he no longer knew himself. There is no treatment for it.

I see him from time to time. I live around the same block radius to his car garage by the Bob Hope airport in Burbank. You can catch him on a sunday morning driving his classic vehicles. Hes a cool cat.
He came to my hometown once and I got to watch him in person. I didn’t get to meet him because we didn’t pay for that in advance (it was a fundraiser) but my friend got to and said he was really cool

I was 12 when Johnny Carson stopped doing the show. I don't know at what age I started watching it, but I do remember when I stopped. I stopped the second time I watched it with Jay Leno. That was one of my first the world changes and it sucks sometimes moment. Even worse without Robin Williams. I grew up as a very young child watching Mork and Mindy. I can't believe I remember it, because I was so young, but I do.

Nobody knows how to make a catchy joke now. It's just mocking something, or acting stupid, or finding material that's already a joke from Facebook, UA-cam videos, Twitter. Jay always had a joke. He's get it set then deliver the punchline, and they were always creative, and even tying in more than one topic. Nobody can write a good joke now. It's just stupidity.

That's not really fair. The show has been on since 1954 and has only had six hosts. Each of them was very good or they wouldn't have lasted so long. They had different styles and formats but they were all entertaining. I've had the pleasure of seeing all the hosts starting with Steve Allen. Different issues accompanied each of them. Rarely did they do anything around politics and Johnny Carson never did. The guys they have now on various shows are very good but politics has become too big a part of their routine. I get politics all day long. If I put the tube on (which I rarely do) It's because I want to be entertained. I don' t watch TV news because it lacks detail, that's why I read the Gray Lady.

When Jay left The Tonight Show I left. Never watched it sense as it was never the same without Jay
