What you see is what you get, from his stories on tv, to the tales in his fantastic memoir, about his childhood, parents, siblings, friends, alcoholism, marriages, gay friends, punk bands and on and on--fascinating man! A man I would trust with my teenage daughters and know they would come home with a faint Scottish accent, a better sense of humor and a few new curse words at worst! (Telling his audience that Brittney Spears was still a baby, with some kind of big problem, at age 25, and to leave her alone did it for me. One of the good guys.) I used to live where Leno's mother lived--ship was the right answer to that question if you lived there! lol

Craig QUIT. He didnt want to do anymore of the talk shows. He says it over and over and over on his show and in other interviews. I dont know why people dont get it.

I think he's a great guy. His UA-cam show about cars is wonderful and he is just great as the host. The cars and their owners are the stars and Jay doesn't hog the limelight or try to be funny. He has a deep, deep knowledge and passion for all things automotive. I have a lot of respect for the man. He was a hardworking young comic, always over in the UK early in his career and I think he has worked for everything he has and is still a decent human being.
he's one of the old fashioned guys who are really good at talking and telling stories. Thats why he was so popular. it wasn't about watching the funniest guy on TV, but to watch a TALK show

Jay is extremely simple in his sartorial tastes. Always has been. He wears the same suits to visit talk shows, and at home he wears jeans and long sleeved jeans shirts. He just doesn't want to be bothered worrying whether it matches or not or even having to think about it. Jeans shirts always go with jeans and, as you see in these three visits with Craig, a blue button down shirt with the Oxford collar and dark navy or black suit always look good together. That's the very most effort or thought Jay ever wants to invest in his style choices, because he just doesn't care about fashion trends. In Jay's mind, classic looks never go out of style, and Jay works those classic styles forever. (Besides that, he prefers to wear clothes that automatically go together, even when he has to dress in the dark, which apparently he does on those occasions he wakes up before Mavis, his wife, wakes up. Which is often, as I understand it.)
I am honestly ashamed of myself man. I have been TeamCoco for the longest time; the result being I never once gave Jay Leno a chance. Last week I watched the long ass interview with Leno by Joe Rogan. JESUS H CHRIST! Jay Leno has such a deep rooted connection with the comedy world. I had no idea. I am such an asshole man. I never once gave Leno a chance.
Yeah, the Conan guys were really nasty about it. I think it was unwarranted - the new setup didn't work for anybody. Conan was failing terribly at the tonight show slot and Leno was failing terribly where he couldn't do Clinton/Bush jokes at the earlier time slot. Of course NBC wanted the formula back that was successful - who the hell wants to hold onto a failing formula? I feel bad that Conan didn't get that prime slot he always wanted but by the time that deal happened Conan was a beacon of late night TV and Leno was the face of prime time comedy...their audiences were already amassed, nobody wanted the change (audience wise). Just didn't work, nobody's fault really, and I don't even blame NBC for going back on it. Jay is certainly a swell guy, does tons of charities, comedy scene, car scene, etc. Talks to average Joe's of all walks of life and has an appreciation for so much.
I thought it was interesting Jay talked about traveling around, he would do the same material night after night, but when on TV, you had different material all of the time. Then when you watch these three appearances, he was repeating material in each one. He changed the nursing home one up a little, when he said he got $10 a show working for the state to do them. There was a woman asking "Bessie" if she liked comedians, and in one story he said "Bessie" sat there staring straight ahead, the next time he said she was asleep in her chair. So he was still into repeating his material as a guest on other shows.
When Leno grabs The Snake Cup and Craig IMMEDIATELY notices and screams. My god. Masterpiece.
Their chemistry is so awesome. They feed off of each other really well!

Yeah, the Conan guys were really nasty about it. I think it was unwarranted - the new setup didn't work for anybody. Conan was failing terribly at the tonight show slot and Leno was failing terribly where he couldn't do Clinton/Bush jokes at the earlier time slot. Of course NBC wanted the formula back that was successful - who the hell wants to hold onto a failing formula? I feel bad that Conan didn't get that prime slot he always wanted but by the time that deal happened Conan was a beacon of late night TV and Leno was the face of prime time comedy...their audiences were already amassed, nobody wanted the change (audience wise). Just didn't work, nobody's fault really, and I don't even blame NBC for going back on it. Jay is certainly a swell guy, does tons of charities, comedy scene, car scene, etc. Talks to average Joe's of all walks of life and has an appreciation for so much.

I thought it was interesting Jay talked about traveling around, he would do the same material night after night, but when on TV, you had different material all of the time. Then when you watch these three appearances, he was repeating material in each one. He changed the nursing home one up a little, when he said he got $10 a show working for the state to do them. There was a woman asking "Bessie" if she liked comedians, and in one story he said "Bessie" sat there staring straight ahead, the next time he said she was asleep in her chair. So he was still into repeating his material as a guest on other shows.
