I just wanted to take a moment to say how amazing your video was! I was really impressed with the quality of the footage, the editing, and the overall presentation. You did a great job of explaining the topic in a clear and concise way, and I learned a lot from watching your video. I also really appreciated the way you made the video engaging and entertaining. You kept my attention throughout the entire video, and I never felt bored or lost. I would definitely recommend your video to anyone who is interested in learning more about the video.

Another excellent adventure! I would have liked to see more detail on the problem of the cannon pinion that led to the issue near the end. How did you decide that this was the source of the problem and how exactly did you fix it? Merci beaucoup!
The canon pignon is the parts that dictates a lot of things between the hands. With the right friction amount it makes sure that the hour and minute hand stay in tune. I just made it a bit tighter to increase the friction
If you put a little bit of winding pressure from the crown while removing the automatic system it wont fly off like that. Very nice video and this is a beautiful watch.
Thank you for sharing this. I have a 2002 Y series. My appreciation for the model increased by a 100% from this video. Would be great to see a comparison between different GMT movements. Like a Rolex GMT, CW GMT and a Tudor or Seiko GMT. Again, many thanks! 👌
great video. lets pick the balance bridge for instance. isn't it better for the screws on a bridge piece to screw one screw 50% in then do other screw 50% in, then keep going alternatively until both are 100% tight? rather than screw one in 100% then go to other screw? see what i mean? i read years ago factories like to do my method to save torquing on pieces etc. i have this watch, model v series 2010 model i love it, beautiful
Superbe vidéo et très bon travail ! J'avais une question concernant le mouvement 3185 : Le fait de faire tourner l'aiguille des heures en anti horaire pour faire revenir la date en arrière risque t il d'abimer le mouvement ? Englsih for the international Community : Does jumping the date backward damage the caliber 3185 ? Amazing job on this video by the way !
I have a question: my 16570 explorer is running great, date functions, gmt hand functions, etc..however, when winding the watch with no power left, the winding the crown is tough. Takes a lot of effort and not buttery smooth like my similar GMT master with same movement. Not crunchy. But like your pushing a car up a hill, resistance. Do you think it needs full service? Suggestions?
You see first at the beginning the change is not fully jumping and later on around 33min when I use the GMT fonction to just change the hour hand one by one hour at it should be on a GMT the minute hand and the GMT should stand still but the move. This is why I adjust this with the lanterning of the canon pignon.
@@FrenchWatchCollector Yes I saw the issue but didn't really understand the solution. I'll research "lanterning" to see if I understand what you did. Thanks for the great video!
@@FrenchWatchCollector I'm just surprised you go through all that trouble meticulously taking apart the watch, then when it comes to the minute hand at midnight you accept good enough 🤷🏻 all Rolex watches have an instantaneous date change exactly at midnight.
@@shamrocky it cannot be exactly midnight. The tolerance for a brand new rolex is -1 minute +2 minutes for the date change. It is like be at +/- zero secondes per day it doesn't exist
Very informative. Thank you. BUT, as a professional, why wind crown with ONE FINGER?!! You can actually watch how that bends the stem. Grrrrr. Extremely hard to watch. Lost all respect for this kind of prefessional. Like putting a watch down so watchback gets in contact with bracelet thus scratching caseback. Disrespectful at best.
My biggest pep pev is a watch that doesn't jump exactly at midnight. Sorry but as a watch lover you need to fix your skills. 2 mins before is unexceptable

Perfect and a great repair service. Keep well from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Thank you Bruce
Great to see your development and upgrading into nicer watches, thanks for sharing
Thanks
Can you treat the watch with more care?
Care to explain?

I know what you mean because it is used a lot in mechanic but it is not sure a lot in watchmaking. Not sure why
Great video and very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job!!
Thank you
great video
Thanks
5:17 the first time I removed the rotor with tweezers I broke the rotor jewel. Since then I always use rodico to lift it straight up
Good tip

Non cela n’est pas un problème car vous avez aussi à changer l’heure ou la date en arrière si vous voyer avec une gmt
Great work 👏
Thank you

Depend when is your last service. You might have a dried up seal or a dried up automatique winding system
huh. I had an exp 2 for 4 years, never realized the GMT hand is on top of the local hour hand on the handstack
Watched to the end and still didn't understand what the issue was 😂 what was the "lanterning" you did to solve it?

How long did this one worked without service? And why does the amplitude stay so high? Surprising that even mint condition Rolex has its issues :)
It is good that the amplitude stay high. I would say you should service a modern rolex around 8 years. Depends how you wear it as well
I think that you must remove hand by hand, to all at the same time 😊
It can makes more damaged to remove them one by one
I have this same watch
Nice one
@@FrenchWatchCollector purchased new in 1997 still wearing it today. Serviced twice
@@FusilierInsuranceservices it will last generations if maintained properly
Santé, I have a question, those black hands from Rolex Explorers, is that stainless steel with some coating on top or is paint?
Not sure but the finish is very nice and it looks very solid
@@FrenchWatchCollector Merci
To many parts fly around… you’re fired!
You left something on the table when you put in all the parts in the cleaning baskets.
Yes it is just a small spring that doesn't need to be clean
There's no comparison between one of these movements and an eta movement.
For sure
👏👌👍!
UA-cam subtitles tells us that its a nice tool even if we are obese 2:47 😢
Weird translation. They are automatic so maybe with my accent it did not work in this case
2 min before midnight isn't perfect 🤔
It is very close to be prefect
