Pure Stock Series and Stock Eliminator, my absolute favorite drag racing classes. More exciting than anything happening in the NHRA pro classes. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the compliment. I try to document this event in a way that represents what it's like to be there in person. The 2024 PSMCDR in less than two weeks away and I plan to be there again.
From their website: www.psmcdr.com/ "On the first day of the two-day event, drivers test and tune their cars and conduct qualifying times. The next day, we pair drivers in a best-of-three mini shootout, creating many close races." So, after everyone makes their qualifying runs, the cars are ranked fastest to slowest, then #1 races #2, #3 races #4, #5 races #6, etc. which results in some close racing in most instances. The cars race heads-up, first car to the finish line wins, in a best-of-three shootout. However, if a car runs more than 2 tenths of a second quicker (or maybe it's 3 tenths, I can't recall) than their qualifying time, they lose that race. This prevents the racers from going slow on the qualifying runs (sandbagging). There are no awards, prizes, or money to any winners. This is all just for fun with other like-minded enthusiasts.
In my opinion everyone that brings a car to race is a winner because they are using it as it was intended to be used. But to answer your question, there is not a single winner. The cars are paired for a best-of-three mini-shootout. so half of the cars win their shootouts but there is no prize, no trophy, no award. Just a good time and a few bragging rights. On the first day of the two-day event, drivers test and tune their cars and conduct qualifying times. The mini-shootouts happen on day 2. full rules and event details: www.psmcdr.com
@@DennisBurger-hc3ie there is a FAST class but this isn’t it. These are allowed to bump the compression up a point and a half, so that red SD Firebird was 8.4 compression new, it’s allowed to go up to around 10.1. The cam has to be within 5% of the factory lift and duration can be a custom design.
That nova with the lt1 is trapping 115, my 71 super sport runs the exact same et, I’m at 440hp, it’s a bone stock 71 nova body, 3480 pounds, it takes a lot more then you think to run these ets This engines are no where near stock, I highly doubt anyone is checking engines
The rules for the event do allow some modifications that can substantially improve the performance. If every car had to truly be 100% stock, there would only be a handful of cars eligible to race. Here is a link to the rules, www.psmcdr.com/rules which allow things such as a 2.5" exhaust system with performance mufflers and H or X pipes (this modification dropped over 4 tenths of a second from my stock muscle car), electronic ignitions (must be hidden, this dropped almost 2 tenths from my e.t. ), an increase in compression ratio of up to 1.5 extra points allowed over advertised (big power gain), overbores up to .070" are allowed as well as slightly bigger camshaft specs, etc. Some participants choose to take every advantage of everything that is allowed, while others choose to remain as close to stock as they can. The cars are paired up for a best-of-three mini shootout based on their qualifying e.t. which makes most of the races somewhat close. There are no prizes or awards of any kind if a person wins their shootout and there is no prize or award for being the quickest car.

Nice to see these cars still out there doing what they were built to do. Thank you to the owners.
Can't get enough of this Channel! I love the pure Stock drag racing, no modding, just raw street muscle at it's finest! Keep the content coming!

That AMC Hornet SC-360 is the TIT'S!
Silly question- are these cars running heads up- first to the finish wins? Or is it bracket racing based on ET?

Dude in the Black Ls6 Chevelle Got me so upset Never hooked up once
excellent video shoot with ( amen ) zero banter however most of the burnout parts could be edited out, stock tire squeal gets old fast.
And the winner was?

PURE stock lol
Read the rules. They aren't that far off from being stock.
@@1972Ventura455hoyeah most guys dont know how to properly tune these
Pretty much, most of these cars are far from stock, they look stock but the internals of those engines have been worked to death

What a joke.. Pure stock? Right..No factory muscle car from the 60's-70's could run low 12's high 11's...rediculous..
