@@UberLummox I'm not exactly sure the years that style was used but I would have guess the same years you mentioned. And then I got in my buddies 1980 Chevy Malibu and saw it was the same belt design but it didn't have the GM logo in it, it was just blank. Pretty cool to see though.
Thank you Honney, the back up girl in the first 40 is worth the whole show. Reminds me of my childhood, as kids draged to the track NOBODY knew what crap we were up to or cared. I followed them cars around not so much for the cars I Loved but DAM you know at 9 I hadn't seen atiy in 8.7 years LOLLove the women who supported their men racing to put on a show now someone would have a hissy fit.
That is a great spot to sit. Not many track have seating down at the end of the 1/4 mile like that. You really get a feel of how fast those cars are going. Love it.
Great video , with all of the corn 🌽 in the background, it kinda reminds me of my home town track ( Eddyville Raceway Park , Eddyville Iowa) every year we have an event called " Chaos in the Corn 🌽 field " ..... thanks for sharing 👍 👍🇺🇸
Yeah sure is unreal. And the Brew City Gassers group tries there best to keep the car period specific in the looks of them. But the transmissions and clutches are obviously upgraded to modern days to grab all the power they can get out of those old carbureted engines.
Thank you, I appreciate it! I have another video scheduled to come out at 4:15pm Central time tonight. Let me know what you think of the thumbnail pic, I spent a ton of time on it.
Hi from the UK. Thanks for posting this. I admit I'm not really a drag racing fan but these were something to see. Much, much better than todays top fuel monsters. Would I be right in thinking that the cars featured here back in the day, would not have been, for want of a better description, 'professionally' built and sponsored by huge modern day companies with millions of dollars to throw at them? Kind regards, Mark
Hi Mark, thanks and I'm glad you liked the video. Yes you are correct most all of these cars would have been built or maintained in there own home garage and raced on the weekends. Lots of pride and passion back in the day, and so cool that events like this are coming back to the drag strips to show it the way it was back in the day. Have a good one! And Merry Christmas! Tom
I watch and enjoy pretty much all your videos Tom but I had an issue with this one that I thought you would want to hear. As a lifelong 68 year old drag racing fan the one thing that frustrates me more than anything else with drag racing videos is cutting away from the action without showing the times. The ET’s and speeds are what makes it relatable. You normally do a really good job at intentionally showing the times. Not sure why you went away from that here. 🤷. Because of this I quit watching before the 5:00 mark.
Hey Dan, excellent observation. And I have a great excuse for it. As the cars are running down the track the next set of cars start doing the burnouts. So I had a choice of missing all the close up burnouts and filming only passes going down the 1/4 mile or getting the best of both worlds. And for me getting the best of both worlds means I get to take pictures of the burnouts and launches which I post up on my Facebook page of 600k followers and gets tons of views, and earns me more money that pays for me to goto more events like this. So I understand and appreciate what you are saying and hopefully you understand my dilemma when shooting videos that cut them off short. And as always I appreciate you checking out my videos and the great comments. Tom
@@tomeighty - Thanks for the reply Tom. As I have no experience at using social media as an income source like you I had not considered the points you made. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks Dan. And actually if you watch the rest of that video I do show all the times, it was just when I was down right by the burnout box it is different filming there. Have a great day buddy.
Yeah that is one mean looking car, I love it. I'm not sure on the steel back half or not, I should check that out. They are racing again this Saturday if it doesn't rain (40% chance both day and night as of right now).
This is a quarter mile 1320. Only the NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters that go over 300 mph race at tracks that will clock them at the 1,000 ft mark and not the 1320 finish line.
@@tomeighty I ran the car in the ‘80s and it scared the hell out of me. When your manhood lays on top of the center section of the rear and the tires rub your elbows when they shake during the burnout, it wakes you up. I had the blower hat come off at the 1/8 mile on a run and took a chunk out of my helmet. Good times 😬
Most of the races were shown in full, but when I was standing down by the burnout box that group of cars were doing burnouts soon after the cars in front of them left off the line. It was a tough call but I wanted to capture burnouts and launches. I can cut up videos like that and post it on my TomEighty Facebook page where I have 500k followers on there. I hope that answered your question, and I appreciate you watching my content. Tom
I agree I'm just as interested in the et's and speed as watching them leave the starting line. What poor coverage of Racing with just showing cars leave the line.
Where I first saw hot pants were on English babes, I was a young teen. Formula One cars raced at the Ontario Motor Speedway road course in California, including Mario Andretti's Ferrari in the 1970 Questor Grand Prix:
Get your GM Seatbelt Belt Here ----> tomeighty.com/products/gm-seatbelt-belt
Cool seat-belts, maing! Good price too.
What year range did GM use that specific style? '65-'68 maybe?
I remember them well.

Finally, someone made a proper drag clear video with cool cars and real sounds. Well done sir.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Gassers , Straight Axil , Girls in GoGo Boots ! Excellent ! Thank You
Great to see the old rides still racing, thanks.
I agree
Thanks for watching!
Wow, that was over the top awesome!!!!....Thanks so much for posting it.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Vintage Hot Rods? Yes please! Great video!
Thank you!
That's wild how they extended the steering wheel outside so the babe could steer it back...
Nice original showmanship!
Yeah I thought that was pretty ingenious the first time I saw it.
Didn't even notice her steering, with all bouncing & booty. Truly a backseat driver !
It ain’t racing without backup girls! Gotta love em.
love muscle cars drag racing, good footage 🔥🔥🔥

Lots of cool cars. Great courage in this video.
I haven't been there for years. We use to sit down by the clocks, that was in the late 70's. Good times then.

Loved it!!
Thanks for this video, all my dream tri fives and Nova's. All the rest too!!
That's awesome, glad you enjoyed it.
Those boots look great and happy to help showcase her beauty. Lucky boots
Thank You Tom for another great video
Glad you liked it, Thanks for watching!

That's a great event name, I like that. Thanks for watching, glad you liked it.
Crazy to see the extreme older cars running times that we now see common fox body garage builds are surpassing. Crazy

What is the Crosley wagon running for an engine? Probably a small block Chevy?
Love hot rods
Great vid!
Thank you!
Shoebox Chevys with front end raked, bad for aero? Weight transfer was worth it?

Great video. Fave car here is Panty Dropper but disappointed no panties actually dropped. Maybe next time.
Yeah that would make for a viral video. ha ha
Wow we know who won
GRA 8 ONE. THANX
All those GM (Generally Malfunctions) cars…I thought I was watching a race of scrap yard rejects
😂😂
Eddie Munster at the wheel?
Nice synced bouncing of the twins. Her flap in front is hiding my favorite part.
why not show full race ?
