- you ask, how i set the bubble count on my Nyos protein skimmer, is a beautiful skimmer works great, quite, the skimm is thick and i haven't had any serious issued. Tip for you guys keep the collection cup clean specially the center collecting cup

The directions from the video simplified.
1: Open big valve half way.
2: Close little knob till foam comes over.
3: Then adjust little knob till you achieve desired skimmate.

You got a great protein skimmer I love it is kinder troublesome at the begging I do it very slowing moving the knob until I get that sweet spot i want once is done you got a great PS

Great information. Just wondering why you start with your riser tube halfway open to start rather than all the way open?
good question bc either way i was having the same problem trying to get the sweet spot was hard to do so once you get it works great but if you lose it is hard to get it is a great protein skimmer but to get it right is kinder hard an complicate

Great video. I'm certainly going to try this out to tweak my skimmer. One question, though. You said the skimmer is very quiet. I have the Nyos 160 and I hear a constant humming noise. Did you have a similar experience while the skimmer was breaking in? The noise seems to be coming from the pump.

@@hardboss7670 just wondering if you had any humming noise issues when you used the skimmer for the first time? If so, did the noise go away after some time? Mine has been running for 5 days and the pump makes a very annoying humming noise.

So pretty much adjust the knob til the bubbles get built up around the bottom of the neck, then adjust small knob til the foam rises up?
Yes try to adjust it gradually small increments is very helpful adjusting the air flow once you get it RIGTH your protein skimmer is set PS is excellent i love it is finding the sweet spot is kinder hard
What is the ideal sump water level for the skimmer to work?
Between 8 to 9 for me
i have the same skimmer but its kind of loud with the bubbling. Is this normal?

Just got this skimmer and does not produce foam like that. Just bubbles and hasn’t skimmed anything. Mines not dark at all. Been running for 2 weeks, got 5 fish and feed 1 clam and 1-2 tiny blocks of mysis a day. Need help with this skimmer. I can’t find any videos. This guy is confusing. Tried what he did and bubbles are not even going up, it’s staying below the cup.
Same following his direction is like barley brown but lots of water
