Great videos keep it up just wondering what skimmer i should use for my 60"x30"x28" (1000L including sump) peninsula tank (mixed reef and plan to have around 30/40 fish) also what lights would you recommend? (6 xr15 radion Blue/pro or 6 ai hydra 32), dosing two part B-iconic or Vertex calcium reactor? lastly hahaha alkatronic/masteronic or trident? Thank you so much really hope to get your viewpoint on this
i have a nyos 220 on my 200g tank which is similiar. works very well. Lighting im a fan of Radions ( i have onlyu used the ai prime not the hydras so cant say 100% there) If you do a calcium reactor then do alkatronic. If you do dosing then maybe trident :)
So my question is where do I get a replacement pump for a NYOS skimmer.

Out of country at the moment so can’t say for sure on footprint. Seems to do an awesome job on my tank.

Because i already talked about it? Its very quiet for a AC skimmer and comparable to other DC ones i have used.

Hi! My aquarium is 135 gallons, together with the sump will produce about 165 gallons of water. Which is better to choose 220 or 160?
160 would be prefect That’s about the size of tank I have it on
I have a nyos 160, works great. But the air intake plugs up with salt. Needs to be cleaned every 2 months
Willy str I do t think I have ever had mine plug. Are you talking at the silencer or the little nipple where it connect to the pump? How much water depth do you have it in?
Sorry this is an unrelated question towards this video but am I able to plug the carbondoser co2 regulator directly into my Neptune Apex energy bar to allow the apex to shut it on and turn it off if the ph in the calcium reactor isn’t in my range?

Does your pump have the correct needle wheel impeller? The needles seem pretty short compared to others I have seen.
as far as i know.. it skims like a champ so it works well!

Fabricio Prandi yes it dose support ozone. There is a port for it on the bottom if the air intake silencer. I currently used ozone though it a few hours each night

is it still in 9.5" ? also when you first set it up did the water level rise easily with the rough adjustment? I seem to have difficulty getting my water level to rise without the big tube almost all the way closed.
Yea it is. I believe the big tube is turned almsot all the way counter clock wise to find its happy spot
ReefDudes I did the same thing and although I don’t have any livestock in there yet based on my last video I was surprised to have to close it so much.
I thought with with rough adjustment opening not facing the skimmer pump I wasn’t moving as much water through it despite mostly being able to raise the water level. At 8” though it’s almost impossible for me to get the water level into the neck without turning the tube right around to basically closed and the turning the adjustment knob almost all the way closed with the air micro about half way. I’m still playing with mine but I think after I start adding some corals slime and fish poo it might make things a little better.
I'm concerned about replacement pumps and their availability down the road
Love my 160. Been running it for over a year and a half with ozone and the tube finally rotted out. You know if eco tech sells replacement tubing?

Nado not to sure. So far it has been a skimming very well even with a lovey buildup on the neck so honestly I prob won’t bother and just clean it every other week or so

What size skimmer should I get for a Redsea 350. It’s like 75 gallons up top but 90 gallons total ???? Is this skimmer overkill for it ?
So is it silent? My reef octopus classic is quite noisy which has bothered me for 5 years. I finally want to make the change and get a new skimmer.
Pretty close, its impressively silent for an AC skimmer. If you put your head beside it you can hear a little bit from a reasonable distance its pretty darn comparable to my previous DC one which was quiet!
Still curious about the other dude.

david michael lower your foam height so the foam has to work more to get into the cup. Will give you a dryer less watery skim :)
What's the dimensions of the skimmer section?
Hi buddy I have my water to foam.line around the letter u on quantum lettering where it changed from water to foam.. looks very similar to where your water level changes to foam on ur skimmer. Am I right?

Tim Ellis the skimmer is made out of ozone safe acrylic so its an extra port to hook up an ozone Generator
