      Prestige Reef .... Same as you, the 220. I should be able to get away with that for my 130 that will be eventually fully stocked I.e. heavy bioload. I don’t think the extra 5 gallons will make a huge impact on the performance seeings how it’s rated 125 for heavy bioload. Would you agree?

    Hey Prestige, I have a suggestion for a future video. How about a video on top 10 Reef tank luxury equipment. Equipment that's not essentially essential but makes reefing so much more easier (for a price). I wanna deck out my reef tank soon as I'm getting a summer job.

    • @PrestigeReef
      @PrestigeReef  5 років тому

      There is so much stuff which isn't essential though... you dont even really need a skimmer

    But is it worth it tho? you haven't answered your own question. I know there so many other brands of skimmer cost a lot less than Nyos, and they have shown great performances as well. SO does really worth spend that much more money to buy Nyos? or Brands like SWC, Redsea, Bubble Magus, Reef octopus, tunze and etc....

    I have the 160 on a 450L reef. Ive had everything from the old school deltec, tmc, red sea, and bubble magus 5 and 7. I personally wouldbt swap the nyos for any of them. An excellent product if you set it up correctly 👍

    Yes they arevworth every penny...... gorgeous powerfull performance. Ive used the 120 on my nano .. then I upgraded to the 220 for my 8 footer which is all sold. And now I run the 160 ... and nothing beats them .... reef octopus and deltec are good skimmers .. but are they as good as nyos skimmers ..... looks .. no ... performance no ... would I change to any other skimmer .... NO CHANCE .. Best skimmers on todays market in my opinion.

      @sunnygoold9449 5 років тому

      @@PrestigeReef Exactly - I was wondered if they sponsored you but yeah my comment was just about your answer here - I just thought you would say in the video that some pieces of equipment are worth spending extra on for quality that will last and the extra features are a bonus. It's so great you are doing these long term reviews. I just got the GW10 and that was mainly due to all the reviews on build quality. But a 2 year review would have been super helpful. I was also on the edge of undersizing just a tad and going for the GW5 - I think undersizing is where reefers will be in a couple of years because there are so many other great ways to lower the things that dirty up your tank

  • @boomcar911
    @boomcar911 5 років тому

    I would disagree with recommending this skimmer to newcomers. I've spent approx at minimum 20 hours on this skimmer, yes 20+ hours dialing in this thing. I've tried rasing water level, changing flow, cleaning, opening valves, opening air, cleaning, and the thing is just too blood nitpicky. When you finally get it running, don't you dare raise your water level, or mess with flow, otherwise you'll be pulling your hair out. Nyos 120

    • @PrestigeReef
      @PrestigeReef  5 років тому

      The nyos 120 is much smaller then the 220, because of its smaller size the changes have a bigger impact than with the bigger skimmer

    • @bckey1440
      @bckey1440 4 роки тому

      I ended up pulling mine after 3 months because of this very thing and then some. Mine started producing micro bubbles like crazy that no setting or water level would control. It was just way too much trouble. I grew to absolutely hate this skimmer. Having owned other skimmers I just cannot figure out why there is so much love for this skimmer. It is a royal pain. I have never owned a skimmer as picky as this one. I just want a skimmer to skim. Thats it. I don't care if it is pretty or made with "high quality" parts. Does it skim well and is it easy to keep dialed in and clean. To me, the new red sea skimmers look like they are more feature rich and easier to keep dialed in. And they use a sicce pump. That is what I am going to replace this Nyos piglet with. Good riddance.

    • @williewilwil1
      @williewilwil1 4 роки тому

      I'm currently using the 120, and only had to dial it in a couple of times during the break in period. Haven't touched it (except for cleaning the cup) in over half a year now.
