I never fully appreciated the importance of the tongue in singing until recently, but it's clear from practice that correct coordination of the whole vocal system leads to insane levels of improvement in tone and control. This is a great exercise too, I'm going to start incorporating it into my daily practice! Thanks Dan!
With regards to the comments about your marketing, I have to say that I totally disagree with the criticism. It's not at all unreasonable to advertise yourself and encourage likes/subscribes on YT so I'm puzzled as to why that person had an issue with it. You're building a brand based on a strong product, i.e. your teaching, and giving away free content every week, as well as doing live Q&A's so I think you're entitled to push your channel as much as you damned well like. You don't advertise excessively and your calls to action are quick, to the point and placed well within each video. In short, the criticism, to me, is unwarranted and is simply one persons opinion.
    All the best!

    Hi Dr Dan,
Thanks for this terrific video, it's great having your CD too as I knew just which exercise to do , then do it with my tongue out!
In the last two weeks I've become so much more aware of what singing involves both on a mental level and the physical, and I've noted improvement in my technique already😃 Just like the learning pathway article , I think I'm progressing from conscious incompetence to conscious competence.
No questions today, just want to wish you and yours a Happy and Holy Easter. I look forward to learning more from you in the near future.
    Lin😊

Great video! Thank you! Just one favor to ask. Change that special effect sound you use when you switch scenes. It makes my windows vibrate and I always think someone is trying to break in. 😂

Dr Dan's Voice Essentials I REALLY enjoy your singing. Especially that video you did comparing the baritone and tenor voice type. 👍👍

What a great sounding exercise, it's really fun, fun.. thanks a lot for sharing!
Once I'm done with the exercise, Should I go all the way down too?
    Happy Easter! :)

Cool, thanks! And is descending from the top down to the starting point.. part of this exercise? As you do, for example, in the 5-note scale exercise.. if you dont mind me asking again!

Dr. Dan i have difficulty with notes, I can never get them right! And I have a good high voice and low voice, and yet I can't go in between.

Dr Dan's Voice Essentials thank you very much, I just checked it out and I found it helpful. I also have one more question, is the chest voice supposed to be connected to head voice? Or are they completely different part of the voice? For example, the highest I can go with my chest voice is not supposed to transition into a head voice right?

My favourite tongue exercise is swallowing with the tongue sticking out and mouth closed, trying not to let it retract.

One codependent issue I have is the muscles by my clavicle tenses up when I take a breath in. Then when I tighten my abs to sing. It causes more supporting muscles to kick in and kills my high range. Takes A LOT of mental concentration to keep it relaxed. Any good exercises to prevent this or separate the muscles, so they don’t kick in?

The drinking exercise has really been helping! I've been doing it for a week with life-changing results. Was just wondering if there were more. I'll look at the rest of the playlist - thanks!!!

Every time I try to lift my soft palate for singing, I can't stop myself from yawning! Am I trying too hard or doing it incorrectly?

Great video and content, but absolutely spoilt too many marketing calls to action..
if we like videos we will like them, asking us to like it share once is enough..calm down Dr Dan and just focus on your content rather than building your fans, and you will have more fans...

sure thing Dr Dan. I appreciate your response and your content is also very much appreciated. however, we come here to learn about voice not to have a suggestion every 20 seconds to subscribe, like or follow.
perhaps something you can bear in mind for future productions. it just gets to the point where I personally feel I will just watch another voice coach who wants to share without programming a like or subscribe throughout the majority of the video. just so you know, how that affects me, personally...
