Its probably just dodgy because of the battered keypad and aging detectors. The keypads on the early panels were always delicate, even when they were brand new women with long nails would puncture holes straight through them when trying to put the code in. The type C bellbox is probably bust because of a corroded terminal or similar, I doubt the bell/siren is broken. The wiring for the system is probably ok too, it loks good anyway as you can't see any cables due to the fact they are all buried. I would keep the Alarmcom PIR on the landing as Alarmcom made good reliable detectors, but probably bin off the rest. So swap panel, new detectors, fix the type C as long as its not polypropylene and your good to go.
I since replaced the system has been replaced for a while now. the alarmcom pir was kept, everything else replaced. wiring was also in good nick so what was kept.
@@jakemcintyre4820 The panel is a texecom premier elite 64-w something like that. It's got a smartcom fitted as well. There was wireless additions also to the system. External sirens are both live wired oddessy x's, one on the rear one on the front.
@@jakemcintyre4820 ah no, well the wires were there so they might as well be used. but for the added stuff it wasn't worth all the damage it would have caused putting in wired stuff. it's only a shock door contract combo unit, and a pir.
The system was replaced a few years ago with some texecom thing i fitted. It's been alright apart from that it does what this one done and it's got the smart system abilities like app control and alerting me through my phone with faults and alarms.

The landing pir If I remember correctly is a Siemens and the kitchen pir is possibly a old scantronic
1:20 it it a unicorn pir
Awesom vid, you should deffo do a vid of the new system when it’s installed

I have that exact panel which was given to me for free

@@ASSystems Glad to hear the Alarmcom was kept, they are very good detectors but hard to come by now. What panel and sounder did you replace it with?

That’s a nice little system there! What are you going to do with it when de-installed?
Not sure yet. probably keeping for spare parts

Texecom

I know this is an old video but what bell box was on the system?
Cqr Type C Blue
@@ASSystems Woah thats epic
That is so strange how they wired it into the actual keypad that there's no dedicated siren box for inside
nice video!
you should put the old system on ebay, you'll be surprised how much people pay for old stuff like this.
Not sure what i'm doing with it yet. but i'll end up keeping it anyways as spares. Or make a demo out of it.
Yeah it would be a good idea to make a demo board out of it
You could replace the control panel with a smart one and also have a back up battery panel hidden away.
