Thank you for coming to Papua New Guinea especially, Rabaul, East New Britain Province. Rabaul was once pearl of the Pacific until 19th September, 1994 twin volcanic eruption. Once again, thank you for sharing your experience.
Hi guys, thanks very much for your video. We visited Rabaul yesterday (19 February) on Pacific Encounter. We did the full day your with Rabaul Cruise Tours after your recommendation. Had a wonderful time with our guide Joanne and driver Patrick. Strongly recommend their tours. A big thank you to you both and Ellis from Rabaul Cruise Tours for a great day.
I see the one arm driving is still common. Back in my PNG days I remember a drunk driver loosing his arm on a tight corner, he was so drunk he didn't notice straight away.
Loved watching your Rabaul tour. Whilst it looked very hot, you made it look like a place I'd like to visit. Before watching your visit there, it's not a place I'd previously contemplated seeing. Very much enjoyed it👍
Seems unusual that you go to the Vulcanological observatory then to the barge tunnels and then back to the bunker, I would have thought they would have taken you to Bita Paka war cemetery which is a real eye opener then back to the bunker, There is also a japanese war memorial on the hillside below the observatory.
Hi guys thanks for video. What tour was this called? It seemed to include a bit of everything. Do you think it is ok to book with them or one off the ship? Especially since you missed the first bus, whereas if booked with ship you get priority disembarkation.
Rabaul is very dangerous, we were robbed in Rabaul a mere 200m from the security gate and my hand was cut wide open. October 2024. This port is not safe at all. We followed all guidelines but we're still attacked at 10:20AM - the man spoke no words, cut my daughter's small bag off and then started stabbing at us. My daughter is lucky to have escaped a deadly blow by jumping back and the plunged knife just missing her chest - be careful please.
Im so sorry for your unfortunate experience here. you may be interested to know that villagers from the immediate surrounds have acted collectively to remove loiterers and opportunists from the town area in the last week or so because of what happened.
