The best tip I have for regular cruisers is to spend money to save money by buying cruise line shares! - On carnival (which includes all the brands they own like P&O and Princess, Costa etc ) if you own 100 shares (which currently only cost about 8-900 USD) on every cruise you get free onboard credit. Around $100 USD/AUD for 7 nights more for longer. No strings attached and you can use it as many times as you cruise. I have almost got all my money back now, and of course still own the shares. Carnival Corp ones are the best as they are the cheapest. The Royal Caribbean Ones cost quite a bit more so are not as good but have the same deal. Norwegian Cruises are also pretty cheap but less relevant to Australia. If you happen to be ex Military you also can get another $100 as well every time you cruise.
Hi Mike. You are absolutely right and Carnival shares are at a low at the moment so cost less to buy. Thanks for the tip, we had completely forgotten about that one.
Reading loyalty programs... since Princess is part of the same P&O/Carnival group & due to my many P&O cruises, I'm a Platinum member on Princess Cruises despite never stepping foot on one.
I hear you. I have done many P&O cruises and the first time I went on a Princess I was immediately an Elite member. Not complaining as I got a free mini bar and a wine tasting.
Thanks for the great tips!! Especially the tip about paying for the shots after getting the impression they were free 😮. Love your videos- thank you 😊.
We got caught out on our first cruise with the welcome drinks. They actually told us they were part of our drinks package, but we got charged because of the cup they were in. You are better of going to the bar yourself.
Beware of the $1 deposit, the prices are higher. If you're sure about a cruise and are willing to put the full deposit down then you'll get a better deal outside of the $1 deposit deal.
I totally impulse bought on my last cruise. I bought a guess watch for $280 (have never owned a watch that expensive), but then I did some thing really naughty, I went to a jewelry auction and put my hand up to bid on a tanzanite bracelet that cost $600. Oops. I've never ever done anything so crazy lol thank god i have a very generous fiance and didn't get in trouble. But I've learnt my lesson. No more auctions for me lol
The drinking water on the lido/dining room is actually quite good. All those that say it must be high in sodium because it is from seawater are wrong. It is purified by reverse osmosis. The extra sodium they’re getting is from from the food. Just bring a reusable bottle.
We certainly were. Disappointing first half but the boys came good in the second. Don't know what Fages said to them but it worked. Guessing that you were there too. We have our regular member seats. Were you close or just saw us in passing?
Hi Rob and Ali, I’m considering go currently to book a first cruise tour with my parents using the P&O buy 2 get 2 free deal. Just wondering is it worth it to pay $350 extra pp for the get it all package($1 deposit, $400 onboard credit per room)? Seems a bit weird to pay $700 per room to get $400 credit.
$$$ Talking about money. I would really appreciate it if you could do a video about money when travelling and what you need to do on ship or on shore or before you leave Australia. I can't find ANY UA-cam videos from Australia.
Hi Maree. Not sure exactly what you mean but we are happy to do any video that helps. We have one coming out in the next week about online check-in and the embarkation process which might help. Let us know if there is anything else you need to know and we are more than happy to help.
@@robandalicruisetravel Sorry. I was meaning eg if you go to Lifou, and about getting $ exchanged before going or if you even need to? Like if i wanted to buy a massage, how would I pay? P.S. LOVE the embarkation video.
@@MareeAlchin Ah, I see. Most of the islands in New Caledonia and Vanuatu will take AUD. We're off to PNG this week and that is a different story though because they don't have access to banks like NC or Vanuatu. Generally, there will be an opportunity to exchange some money on the ship at Guest Services. Let me think on how we might be able to make that work as a video and thanks.
It's sad that p&o aus don't have any type of loyalty program. We have a member number with them from our past 2 cruises but it doesn't seem to do anything
Hi Deb. We've been crusing with P&O for a few years now and our 'cruiseling' number does give you the idea that it means something other than just a reference number. They have been hinting at some kind of loyalty program in the past but nothing has ever come of it. I don't really think it's on the cards at all. Oh well, we enjoy the cruises for what they are anyway and it does mean that we are Elite on Princess without having to have done the actual nights on Princess.
Hi Marionette. Not sure we really understand the question but if a country needs a visa then you may need to get one. If you areon a cruise to a country that needs a visa e.g. PNG. then they may arrange that for you.
Yes always takes snacks, I like boiled lollies to quell my sea sickness.

Thanks Linda, we really appreciate the support.
All the Bingo I have ever gone to on land work that way too. The major jackpot has to go off in a certain number of calls or its lowered dramatically

What about drinking water during cruise ? You buy water bottles to keep in your room ?
