As a former violinist, this is genuinely impressive I'm glad you decided to focus alot on your bow hold, because an improper bow hold is a nightmare to break. And I'm also glad you decided to work on your tone instead of jumping straight into vibrato, a lot of new players just jump straight into vibrato and that just becomes a detriment to their overall playing, All in all, you made an amazing and huge improvement in only 30 days. If anything, I encourage you to keep at it, you've got real potential
@@christianlawagonbato11 All I can really say is practice, alot I would take proper sessions to just get comfortable holding the bow. Practice on a pencil if you have to, but make sure you are doing a proper bow hold. My teacher taught me to shake your hand out and then relax your hand and that's as proper as a bow hold as you can get. Don't hold the bow extremely tight, nor hold it too loosely, it has to be just right. It can seem quite daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll be start playing in no time! I hope you keep at it!
@Retri There are several things that could be at play there. 1. You are not moving the bow in a straight line, keeping consistent pressure on the strings, and/or not playing fast enough. 2. You forgot to wipe the strings off after practicing. Rosin build-up on the strings can heavily impact the sound of your instrument. 3. Your strings are not in good condition. I generally recommend replacing the strings when you just buy one, even if they work fine. You will never know the mileage of your strings and even less so of used ones. Plus you can guarantee the best sounding ones for you as compared to the stock ones.

Violist and violin teacher here! Let me get you some things to know as you continue you journey! 1. you're using a lot of shoulder as you bow, open and close your elbow, also it sounds squeaky since you're putting too much weight when you bow 2. Shoulder rest (you called it a neck rest, never heard of it called that!) they aren't needed to play but really should be used when you play it just helps hold it up, it's something that never goes away 3. Vibrato: DO NOT ATTEMPT FOR AT LEAST 2 YEARS BARE MINIMUM it takes A LOT of strength that beginners don't have, I didn't learn until 3 years in 4. finger tapes: USE THEM, the whole point of them is to help train your fingers where to go! after playing for ~5 years I still have my 3rd finger tape, memorizing where they go is one thing but memorizing where they go incorrectly is another. I think you're intonation is pretty good for your level, but have someone who knows what they're doing (ie. local music shop) put tapes on. they do not make you look stupid, I promise they help 5. Question, I notice you have one fine tuner, was this a hand me down violin? beginner violins don't usually have one as it's easier to tune 6 KEEP PRACTICING!! remember, practice makes permanent, not perfect. the more you practice the better you will sound, but make sure you give it 110% every single time so you sound confident when you play for others. I would also recommend taking at least 2 lessons from a professional, they'll help you fix anything :) I believe in you! you show a lot of promise in the 30 days alone and I think you will make a phenomenal violinist! If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them!

Hi! First of all, I just want to congratulate you on your amazing progress; when I started playing the Violin, It took me more than 30 days just to get the violin balance on my shoulder. Now, I've been playing for a good 5 years, and I just want to give you some tips. Something that I noticed in the very beginning is that you had a violin with one fine tuner, that gold thing near the bottom of your Violin where the string ends. For a beginner, I highly recommend having 4 of those. The Violin you had is what a professional would use. But I also noticed that you got a new one, later on, an amazing choice. And to be honest, there was really nothing wrong I could find. Happy practicing!
She survived a whole SIX days without a shoulder rest. If it were me, I couldn't last five minutes. Bravo 👏 Edit: She's really, REALLY good for a beginner and as a violinist myself, I am VERY impressed.
Amazing job! It’s not easy to learn violin but you did so well, especially for only 30 days. Majority of people don’t even touch a song for the first couple of months when learning. I am now currently on year 7 of learning the violin and I’ve got to say there’s still a lot I have to learn. Learning the violin is a long and difficult path but for all the beginners, don’t give up! Trust me it’s worth it in the end.

You could do the viola if you want something in between (and not as high) Try both for a couple classes. Also, find an instructor who will teach you something fun to play, if you just do scales for months, you'll never have enough fun to stick with it : )

I studied violin for three years and this is really impressive, after thirty days I was still working on the fingers position. One thing I suggest you is, rest your shoulder when you bow, you're using it a lot. I had this problem and fixing it really helped me sound better. Use finger tapes, I still have them after three years and they really help. Most important thing, keep practicing!! It is very difficult to turn back when you dont for a while (I say this from experience). I hope you will continue this journey because violin is a very beautiful instrument. Have a good day!

I’ve been playing the violin for 4 years, middle school rn, for me, since I play violin on side of all my studies and I didn’t have a great starter teacher, the most important thing for me is whether my bow is straight and vibrato. Anyways, this is my first time watching your channel, and your a really fast learner, impressive, the violin is a hard instrument.❤
Thank you for making this I actually wanted to start playing but was kinda demotivated when I saw online it could take over 4 months just to start playing the most basic of songs and to get a proper sound. Maybe I'll have a go at it since you seemed to be enjoying yourself as well You definitely didn't sound like someone who only started 30 days ago so I think that's a good sign you should kee at it!
I learned how to play the violin in junior high, but eventually switched to the upright bass (because it made a bigger sound) I eventually switched to the electric bass guitar- was in several bands for almost 28 years, but it took me at least 15 years to really get comfortable and play naturally on the bass guitar to the point where I and the instrument became one.
There is nothing wrong with this younger generation. This young lady is very logical and pragmatic in planning her progress with learning the violin. Her goals are reasonable and capable of accomplishment.
Hello! I've been playing the violin for 9 years now. After watching, here are some tips I would give: 1. the space between your index finger and your middle finger is a bit too wide to produce a good sound 2. Your pinky finger should be more rounded to give you more control of the bow. In general, your fingers should be more relaxed (without risk of dropping the bow). 3. Your right arm rotating around your shoulder. This partly causes the problem of the crunchiness in the notes. Your bow should always be at a 90 degrees angle with your strings. To do this, you must extend your elbow and bring it more forward in front of you. 4. Left hand is pretty nice! I wouldn't suggest starting vibrato until you have a solid grasp of the instrument though. However, my opinions are my opinions. I think I learned vibrato about 3 years in or smth. Anyways, I rlly enjoy ur vids! keep up the good work :)
As a professional violinist playing for 9 years now. You play like how I played after 4 years. The moment you loosen up and the tnesion in your right hand is gone, you will have a tone on par with many violinists. Good job learning it in 30 DAYS!
I did voilin for around 6 maybe 7 years, once a week. I only had 5 people in my class and my teacher would always write us out music to learn and then we had to learn to write it ourselves. On our voilin we had sponges so it was more softer on our cheeks but my hand would always get very tired cause I have smaller hands and arms to I was doing alot of stretching. Our first lesson was bow technique and plucking, trying to get a pure sound. It was dreadful, so many awful squeaks and if one of us messed up, we all messed up lol. It was really fun and I wanted to continue and I sorta just stopped going cause I kept forgetting so technically I 'quit' but I didn't actually so really confused about what to do.
This is amazing for only 30 days. I’ve been playing for 6 years and the first 30 days we couldn’t even use our bow because we needed to practice our notes first with plucking the string
I’ve been playing for about 10 months..I’m impressed… that you memorized the notes without the sticker…. I’ve got my note sticker on my violin neck still… I’m scared to take it off haha … great job!
I've been playing violin for 5 years and I'm only on grade 4. This is really impressive because violin is an extremely hard instrument to learn. They don't have frets, coordinating the bow and notes, holding the violin and bow. Well done!
I've played violin for over 40 years and even teach violin now. This was beautiful and congratulations! BTW, what video software do you use to weave in the different parts you are playing in sync with the music? I've always wanted to make videos like that with me playing different instruments. Thanks!
As someone who is still learning, I can say that for only 30 days, it sounded really good. Especially since you mentioned only using UA-cam tutorials. It is a lot easier to learn with in person teaching, since they can correct things, explain it in easier terms, etc. good job! 👍🏻

damn im a violinist who learned pretty quick and- YOU LEARNED QUICKER??? WHAT? I've been playing for 2 years.. but like that first year didnt really count since i wasnt INTO it. But since im in an orchestra now this year ive made a LOT of progress.
As a beginner violinist ive been practicing the violin for 4 months now and fr tho you’ll improve and learn faster if you practice a couple of hours a day i’ll recommend 5 or 6 hours is enough, i know it can be tiring and it’ll hurt your muscles too lol, but its worth it, keep going guys!
here's a tip: you need to be moving your wrist more. when your bow comes up, your wrist should come up too. when the bow goes down, your wrist comes down. wrist flexibility is crucial to clean bowings. also, when the top of your bow is on the string and your arm is down, make sure you're moving your wrist down, not moving your elbow back. this helps for maintaining a good contact point.

Wow! Grade 8 violinist here! That's so impressive, I would recommend getting a shoulder rest though, it can be REALLY uncomfortable to play without one : )
This was great progress in just 30 days! Keep it up! Btw Ive never heard anyone call it a neck rest. Most call it a shoulder rest.
6 day mark was such an improvement!! this is so cool to watch as someone who is getting a violin soon!
Thank you for making this
I actually wanted to start playing but was kinda demotivated when I saw online it could take over 4 months just to start playing the most basic of songs and to get a proper sound. Maybe I'll have a go at it since you seemed to be enjoying yourself as well
You definitely didn't sound like someone who only started 30 days ago so I think that's a good sign you should kee at it!
bro i am learning violin rn and this is so good, great job! this also makes me want to do a violin cover of something :P
Congratulations!!! You are Amazing, an example on perseverance ❤ Love it
Great job 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I was impressed, you improved a lot in just 30 days 🥰 I'm proud of you Kize! God bless you, forever😇
There is nothing wrong with this younger generation. This young lady is very logical and pragmatic in planning her progress with learning the violin. Her goals are reasonable and capable of accomplishment.
Hello!
I've been playing the violin for 9 years now. After watching, here are some tips I would give:
1. the space between your index finger and your middle finger is a bit too wide to produce a good sound
Just started violin lessons and thank you for great video!
Get a different teacher and start again
This is amazing for only 30 days. I’ve been playing for 6 years and the first 30 days we couldn’t even use our bow because we needed to practice our notes first with plucking the string
Samee
me too lol but i’ve been playing for 2 years😊
Your intonation is extremely good
Nice string jumping and finger placement Ur on ur way to becoming a great violinist
I’ve been playing for about 10 months..I’m impressed… that you memorized the notes without the sticker…. I’ve got my note sticker on my violin neck still… I’m scared to take it off haha … great job!
Wow this was incredible and the ending made me want to cry it was beautiful and knowing you did this all in one month?! Wow!!!
Violin seems very challenging Instrument, you did great job!
Wow, Congratulation with your Violin Practiiiceee.. Nooooiicceeeee ^^
I've been playing violin for 5 years and I'm only on grade 4. This is really impressive because violin is an extremely hard instrument to learn. They don't have frets, coordinating the bow and notes, holding the violin and bow. Well done!
My violin arrives tomorrow, and I would be fortunate to make 1/4 of the progress you did in 30 days. Well done!
How are you doing now?
@@gideonkyleanie5293 I quit after 2 weeks. Now I have an expensive piece of wood in a closet somewhere!
Just subbed after reading your bio. I think I’m going to really enjoy your channel 👌
Wow!!
I plan on learning to play the violin. This is a great inspiration ❤
fuck yeah of course so inspiring !!
I've played violin for over 40 years and even teach violin now. This was beautiful and congratulations!
BTW, what video software do you use to weave in the different parts you are playing in sync with the music? I've always wanted to make videos like that with me playing different instruments. Thanks!
Genuinely impressed!!!! Wow
I just bought a violin todayy and wooo! Well, your video is such a boost!
Good job ur so talented
As someone who is still learning, I can say that for only 30 days, it sounded really good. Especially since you mentioned only using UA-cam tutorials. It is a lot easier to learn with in person teaching, since they can correct things, explain it in easier terms, etc. good job! 👍🏻
I play viola and this is actually better than I can do! And I’ve been playing it for 4 months now and I still sound like a dying horse 🥲
Woww this is very good job! I really appreciate youu kize! Keep practicing until the bow and pitch going smoothly 👍
anazing❤ she’s gifted hehe
hii:))) its realy amazing to see such grate progress i such a little time! im a 14 year old and i play violin for 1 year and 4 months now. during bow strokes if u use your underarm more then the upperarm it will sound smoother and look more elegant. mamby put your right index finger a little more to you ring finger en keep your fingers realy curfed! you sound realy good for only 30 days!!!
Hi I know this was commented a long time ago, but I want to start playing violin, as a 15yr, I want to know how long I usually have to put hours into it ?, and is it possible to decently play in a year? Or month ? :D?
Omg I love this!!💕
There is no such thing as effort without perfect results, I am amazed and I hope to be like you!!
I've been playing for 3 years and she still played better than me 😭 Great job girl!! Also can you tell me what videos you used to learn it please?
Bow attack to the string .speed and pressure is key to making the violin sing. Started playing in 5th grade 1969. Concert Master in high school 1978.
This makes me want to practice more! Well done! Will you keep playing the violin?
OMG YOU WERE ON DAY 2 AND THAT PLAYING WAS BETTER THEN I PLAY NOW AND I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR ALMOST 2 YRS!
P.S. yea i was like *gaspin in disgust* actually
Being a average violinist, I'd say our teacher started me off with plucking. But even without plucking, you did awesome!
I’m 11 and I play gd 6-7 violin! I didn’t rlly improve in the first year, but seeing u it is so impressive! U earned a like ☺
damn im a violinist who learned pretty quick and- YOU LEARNED QUICKER???
I would focus on intonation. It would be a good idea to buy an rcm technique book to work on scales and etudes. Good job!
congratulations! Admire your focus and determination
Good job ❤ I am so proud of you 👏
I'm starting to learn violin, thank you for the video, it motivates me a lot
good job Kize Bae. I am learning a guitar but i stop for some personal reason. But good Job.
@Calum Fusco thanks
same to you
So inspiring. Thank you for sharing
Just a suggestion for your next 30 day challenge I think you should learn to play the bag pipes
I was thinking I was a lost cause after day one. Glad I found your inspiration
That was really really good!! I loved it. But to help you get the smooth sound as you want try and make the move with your wrist it will help you :)
Thank you for sharing your learning curve, truly inspiring👍🏻
As a 65 yr old semi-retired adult who has decided to learn the violin, THIS gave me hope that it's not a hopeless quest. Well done.
im violonist. i became happy for you. nice job and keep going.
It’s called shoulder rest as a violonist ur getting better keep going my friend plays cello so I tried to learn but it’s hard please give me advice
That looks like a really high quality violin!
Nope. It depends on whos playing frr
Which is better for those who have fingers related problems? Piano, violin, ukelele, drum???
Superb as always! ^-^
I LOVED IT ! I want to try it too !
Awesome! Well done!
violinist her! u did such a great job!
Congratulations!! 🙌🏼
That's genuinely very impressive for 30 days.
Not bad!! 🎻✨ 👌
here's a tip: you need to be moving your wrist more. when your bow comes up, your wrist should come up too. when the bow goes down, your wrist comes down. wrist flexibility is crucial to clean bowings. also, when the top of your bow is on the string and your arm is down, make sure you're moving your wrist down, not moving your elbow back. this helps for maintaining a good contact point.
