Cutting out sugar is worth a try...I had tingling and numbness and notice decrease when I did not consume sweet stuff and too much carbs. All the best.
I agree. I used to have the tingling bad until I cut back on sugar/carbs. Now I’m only get the tingling in my left pinky at night when I sleep only when I know I had a little more than normal carbs or sugar that day.
What does sugar and carbs have to do with this? I didn't hear him say anything about food but I've had pasta and chocolate cake after for desert. That may be causing my hard and fingers to become numb? Why would that be?
I had those symptoms and a few others, it took Drs two years to discover I have Lymes and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I had the tingling and extreme fatigue. I could go from feeling ok to total exhaustion in a matter of a min or so. Also a small rash would come and go between pointer finger and thumb, that meaty section. Lymes mimics so many things. My daughter was diagnosed with Cilliac disease for 5 yrs, it was Lymes, neither of us knew we had been bitten. This was for someone.
I had a swollen knee, that I could put no weight on. So I went to a Orthopedic Doctor and he did X-Rays and tests etc. in the end he told me. "Yeah, your knee sucks, but that is just how some people are made". I was like WTF? I ended up back at my GP for a routine physical and told him about the knee. he asked if I had been tested for Lyme Disease. I said no. He gave me a blood test and I had something like 13 out of 17 markers for Lyme. He prescribed antibiotics and my knee was totally fine in a couple weeks. I will never return to that orthopedic doctor for anything. Lyme's disease is real and really bad. It should be taken very seriously.
Wow! This might be my dad's problem. He has numbness in both his hands. He wakes up at night, because his arms are tingling and his hands are asleep. He had carple tunnel surgery and nothing g i.proved. He has trouble just buttoning his shirts, so he switched to snaps. He is healthy other than this and will be turning ninety this June. Thank you for the information!
great video, I was told I had carpal tunnel yrs ago, and over the years have had back pain, neck pain and dizziness. I found out its a subluxation and have found relief with NUCCA adjustments
From an informed, working class type guy, I thought the video was both informative and easy to listen to. I appreciate the example about the patient who had “corrective” surgery prior to consulting you. What is resounding to me is that the likely scenario of limited testing that was done prior determining the patient’s need for surgery, is how specialty practices conduct self-serving analysis, much like political organizations conduct polling statistics to support their party’s candidate, with undoubtedly the same outcomes. Again, thank you for contributing your expertise. It is helping me understand the source of my pains which I believe are the result of my hobbies which has resulted from sustained periods of time operating power tools.
C7 and carpel tunnel sounds like me. 75 and it's driving me crazy. It's the worse pain ever. That's saying alot because I have Fibromyalgia and Lupus, the double whammy❗Thank goodness I found you. It's also a symptom of Lupus. Looking forward to hearing from you again💕
Thanks to this video I believe that I may of found out the cause of my tingling and most importantly back pain that I didn't know that the tingling was related. This video came up in a search for numbness and hand upper arm tingling and when I saw he was a specialist in back issues it all started to make sense. I'll be making some appointments to get help now. Thanks for sharing much needed information to the public.
I’ve had positional arm numbness and tingling for 2 months in my right arm and into my thumb and forefinger. I discovered putting my chin to my chest makes it go away. Very aggravating
This is so interesting. Vaxxs gave me damage and spinal this helped .I had brilliant hands afters months and months I recovered slowly good job I did not get surgery .spine inflammation I dance through pain and slowly getting better. The shingle and burning but ficking myself GOOD INFORMATION KEEP US POSTED GOD BLESS !
This is something that would be good to get checked out with your doctor. Get an accurate diagnosis and then a solid treatment plan both to make the symptoms disappear and then also to keep them from recurring.
I'm currently dealing with a suspected wrist sprain injury from a fall where I landed on my wrist to break the fall and not hit my face or something! I have a little bit of tingles that seem to be occasional in my pinky and palm (no pain though, just a little alight numbness but it isn't too alarming right now) and I figured while taking downtime and resting to learn a little bit and I appreciate your video! Might be able to tell my doctor a little more useful info thanks to this 🙂
I have the same issue. 4 months ago I fell, wore a cast for 6 weeks and thought my healing was goi g well. I still have tingling in the 3rd and 4th finger and I cannot close a fist. My inner wrist hurts so I may have a pinch nerve. Can you advise me?
Thanks Doc, I was misdiagnosed in the army and now I deal with this issue every day. this was really informative for me and hopefully either through exercise or possible surgery. I appreciate you driving home the idea of looking at the full nerve chain analysis with the Double Crush Syndrome.
well, I was told that I have a pinched nerve in my neck, but no one ever told me a remedy to make it stop go away or providing me any type of treatment for it but thanks for explaining to me that I’m not having a stroke and of course is not in anxiety attack but I still need answered. This was very helpful. Thank you so much.❤😊
My left pinky is little numb for several years now, tried to massage the area nerves around but never goes away and not worried much but learned to live with it. I'm almost 76 now. Thank you doctor for your advice.
Thank you for the great information Doctor Cooper. I had a bike accident 6 months ago, where I broke my right clavicle, 4 ribs, scapula all on my right side. I believe I landed in my right side and hit my head. Fortunately, I was wearing a helmet. I also punctured my right lung. After the accident, I started experiencing problems with numbers on my right hand and PT’s at Kaiser didn’t care about my concerns. It has gotten worse and I have the numbness and tingling on both hands now.
Thanks for the nice words. Sorry to hear of your accident. You should get to a doctor to check out the numbness and tingling. It's always better to diagnose and treat earlier than later. Glad you were wearing your helmet, by the way!
As a retired lifelong EMG/NCS tech, I’ve found that CTS symptoms are always worse in the middle digit while more proximal injuries involve the thumb and sometimes the index finger. To rule out double crush muscles more proximal to the carpal tunnel must be irritable.
What do you think is the cause if my thumbs have much more numbness than any other fingers? I feel at least very slight numbness almost constantly on my thumbs and sometimes index fingers but it gets much worse temporarily when bending my elbows or wrists too far. I am really worried about getting the right treatment before these symptoms might get worse and cause nerve damage. I appreciate any advice. How do I know if the symptoms are serious enough to need injections or surgery? What treatments most improve the numbness?
Had some tingling in my wrist/hand when I woke up. Shook it off. Had the same thing a couple of weeks later and shook it off again. Wish I had watched this video before shaking it off and determined which of the 37 different scenarios applied so that I could have eventually handled it the same way😅.
My emg showed I have thoracic outlet syndrome and ulnar neuropathy on my left side and thoracic outlet syndrome on the right side. Oddly enough, the herniated disc in c6/c7 wasn't compressing any nerve roots per mri and emg. I've been doing a lot of physical therapy and hope to improve my symptoms without needing surgery. I'm a knitter so I really hope I can avoid carpal tunnel syndrome for as long as possible. Everyone on one side of my family has carpal tunnel
Damn. Sorry about your pain. I'm Having nerve pain and numbness for the first time in my life at 42 years old. So I literally feel your pain. God will restore us in his time. I'm very worried as I also live paycheck to paycheck.
Excellent delivery on Arm & Hand Numbness & Tingling. Using your arm and hands to demonstrate a lot of your info really made it engaging. And your graphics were helpful too. A+
@@PrincetonSpineJointCenter I literally was almost done typing and youtube erased my entire problem. So let's try this again. I'm going to use talk to text so I hope it gets it mostly right and you understand. So as a mechanic while working under a car removing parts. My hands would become numb and if I tried to ignore it. The numbness would start traveling towards my shoulder it would cause me to drop tools. Fast forward 10 years later to today. I cannot sleep letting down anymore in any position. If I do so, my arms and hands will go numb from the shoulder to the finger tip. If I remember correctly. My sums do not go numb but on top of the numbness. Sometimes I wake up screaming in pain. The pain radiates from my elbow to my fingertips. What might be the cause of this? I had an mri of my L1 to L5 and was told. I have degenerative disease also
I have long time diabetics with tingling on edge of all my fingers and lately my left arm gets numb when I sleep on that side. I also have severe numbness in my legs believed to be from severe lumbar stenosis for which I am going for massive surgery. I will tell the Surgeon also about my left arm ans ask for a new MRI for the Cervical area. Your video helped me a lot!!
I had severe lumbar stenosis and could literally barely walk. First surgeon said I needed urgent surgery. Second surgeon said I didn't need surgery, just physical therapy. 9 - 10 PT sessions, a few months of daily core exercises done on my own, and exercises in a swimming pool about once a week for a few months and I full recovered without surgery. I read approximately 1,000 comments from people who had undergone lumbar spinal surgery. In the best cases, the surgery is helpful for a few years. A neighbor of mine who is a M.D. himself, just had his 8th lumbar spinal operation. The man has been in constant pain for many years, and has most of his lumbar vertebrae fused. I highly recommend trying physical therapy first, injections second, and surgery as a last resort.
In my case, symptoms of neck, arm, feet and leg nerve tingling was caused by Type 2 diabetes inflammation. I was insulin resistant. It went away after I cured my diabetes.
Thanks for explaining in such great details am expecting these symptoms for about 3 months now first it was in my fingers then up to my neck , now it's from fingers to where my shoulder join my left arm
You're welcome. If it's been going on for that long, it's definitely time to see a doctor about it. A couple of diagnostic tests should give you an accurate diagnosis and then you can go from there.
Thank you for your explanation. I finally know who to go to see this. My Primary care MD did not know what to do. I have been having this for months. Thank you Thank you!. Blessings...
I get that numb/tingling in forearms and hands when I get very very sad, which is rare. Always been a curious thing. I just googled "emotional carpel tunnel" and it looks like that might be a thing , with real studies even. Huh.
Thank you. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy. Last year the neuromuscular doctor I was referred to did an emg/ncs on my right hand. I have carpal tunnel syndrome there that I can keep calm with a night brace.
Great information and the right head turn and looks up.... OMG, I felt the sharp tingling shoot down my arms to my wrists and fingers. Now where do I go from here?
That’s my exac😢problem as well .but also small fingers numb sometimes.im in pain and don’t know what to do next I’m 60 my gp is on google,to,explain what’s wrong.but no solution being offered
DEAR Dr. Cooper! Your video is amazing & thank you! I have had both carpal tunnel surgery AND cubital tunnel surgery! I still have numbness and tingling in both arms and hands...especially, after carrying groceries or anything mildly heavy. PLEASE, do you think that this is symptomatic of DOUBLE CRUCH syndrome? I live in New York City so maybe there is a doctor here that I could see? Any help will be so, so appreciated! Thank You so much!
Thank you for your kind words. Double Crush should certainly be considered with your story. Dr. Eugene Bulkin is at Mt. Sinai. I did my fellowship with him and he is terrific. Here is his profile: profiles.mountsinai.org/eugene-bulkin. You may want to see him and get his opinion.
I had this bilaterally, found out I have injured ulna nerves caused continually dressing in a way that was stretching the nerves in my wrists, took 24 months to recover.
What did you do at home to recover?..I have numbness in my pinky n ring .it's constant..my neck and arm recovery is better..my forearm muscle and thumb is still weak.. personal advice?
So grateful for this presentation. I'm taking Pre-meco currently to solve the numbness that goes through the whole right arm, accompanied by a neck pain. I'm also made to wear a neck color. However, the numbness persists. Please kindly advise.
A good treatment plan starts with an accurate diagnosis so I'd suggest you talk to your doctor. It sounds like an MRI or other imaging of the cervical spine as well as an EMG/NCS may be the best way to cement a diagnosis but of course it depends on your particulars. I'd encourage you to talk to your doctor about establishing a firm diagnosis and go from there.
Best video description I’ve found. I’m having horrible burning and tingling in my wrists and forarms and THINK I’ve narrowed it down to CTS or Radial nerve entrapment. MRI of the neck/spine came back negative so I’m thinking an EMG is the next choice. Had a cortisone shot into the wrist and have taken 1 round of oral prednisone which neither helped. Thoughts?
@Ben Jovi If you have cervical instability due to loose ligaments then you might not have findings of dysfunction on MRI. You might need to have a DMX (Digital Motion X-ray) to determine if you have cervical instability which can compress vagal nerve or other nerves. Have you been able to get to the root cause yet?
That’s really kind of you to say. I am in Princeton, NJ. Don’t lose hope. I don’t know where you are located but if you aren’t getting the answers that you need then get another medical opinion. Sometimes a fresh perspective from a new face can be helpful. Hang in there.
I think his video is only for explanation. why not you scroll down the UA-cam video list which I just saw. they have the treatments that you can do at home.
sometimes happens after using power tools -like after leaf-blowing or pushing a power mower-the vibrations continue to disrupt the nerves for a while after
Very informative doctor, but I also like to know if the tingling goes up to the head on one side , like a little behind the ear but closer to the spine, can it be a sign of high blood pressure or a stroke ..
That's a great question. As you might imagine, there are lots of potential causes for symptoms like tingling in the head. Definitely if you are concerned about a stroke, you should call your doctor immediately. With that said, high blood pressure, pinched nerves, medication side effects and other problems can cause all sort of symptoms including tingling around the ear or head. The best thing to do is call your doctor and get checked out.
The numbness wakes me up. Five years of data entry; with pain and tenderness at elbow, up to top of shoulder. I eased up when I was laid off the job. Then years of crochet, sewing, repetitive movements. I did too much hammering one summer, and suffered impingement. I fell once and hurt my ribs and diaphragm. Just worn out, especially the right shoulder and arm.
This video gives me some clarity. My daughter has been suffering from neck, shoulder pain radiating down the arm n tingling n numbness in the fingers. For months I took her to an Ortho dr. N he kept giving her meds n putting her on to physiotherapy. But there was no relief. Finally he ordered a whole lot of blood tests n MRI, Xrays, Echo, ECG, everything. All show normal so he came to the conclusion that she needs to see a physchiatrist . I took her to another more experienced Ortho dr n he came to the same conclusion after checking all her records, that she needs a physchiatrist. But she's still in great pain n so depressed. Whom should I meet dr.?
Thanks Princeton Spine & Joint Centre and the explanation. It helps me to explain to my doctor and get further help. Really well explained and eaay to portray to my physician
Well explained Dr. Thanks. Iam having numbness, chillness in all right hand fingers while sleeping since 1 month but not regularly. Is it due to carpal tunnel or neck nerve issue?. Please suggest some exercises
i have double crush syndrome after a cervical spine fusion c3-c6 7/4 and have had carpal tunnel surgery in my right hand in Aug with the same numbness and pain in my right hand. My new neurologist said there was no need to have carpal tunnel surgery in my left hand because the symptoms in my hands are coming from my neck even though i have pinched nerve in my left elbow also. i am so not okay this. i’ve been dealing with this since June and i know there has to be something else wrong
That sounds very frustrating. Hang in there. Remember, it's always fine to get multiple medical opinions if what you're hearing doesn't make sense to you.
I have been told I do have a small bulge in one of my neck disks, but I also had a stroke because air got into my veins and went through a PFO to my brain Years ago I had a bulged L4L5 disk, and the doctor removed the budge
So grateful Dr. Cooper for your insight. I had spinal fusion about 18 years ago at L5-S1. Can you provide information on issues issues in the upper spine that can happen when one has spinal fusion? I have all the symptoms of Double Crush; I also have some numbness in my right side lower extremity. Could this be related?
I feel at least very slight numbness almost constantly on my thumbs and sometimes index fingers but it gets much worse temporarily when bending my elbows or wrists too far. I am really worried about getting the right treatment before these symptoms might get worse and cause nerve damage. I appreciate any advice. I have been doing concrete for 22 years.. and was hit by a drunk driver at work.. this video was helpful.. I subscribed .. thank you.will ice on my neck help? And also will I get released eventually without and epidural shot?
I have been having all of the symptoms plus a lower back of the neck/head pain and numbness/tingling senstation on my both feet. My Dr. did an MRI of my brain and neck and he said I don't have a pinched nerve. They are not able to figure out what's causing my symptoms. It is so frustrating.
Thankyou. Very informative. I live in NZ and have had trouble with my neck, shoulder, elbow and left hand for years. First I was told my C5 was misaligned and there was nothing they could do. When I complained about the pain was told I'm mentally ill and there was nothing wrong with me, yet given codeine and morphine for the pain they said I wasn't experiencing. 5 years have gone by and I can hardly use my left hand and now my right hand is slowly going bad. Still told there's nothing they can do. Have been waiting for a nerve assessment for 3 years but am told it's not urgent and to be patient. I've all but given up hope and resigned to living with this excruciating pain forever. I freed lieng down in my bed every night as I know the pain will wake me multiple times nightly. Death is looking good.
Thank you for the informative video! I was working out 10 minutes ago and started feeling numbers and almost like a cramp in both my arms and my upper right back. I’ll ve getting checked out soon.
I'm 58yrs old, with previous shoulder issues (TOS) and recurring cervical pain/headaches. Previous cervical MRI (less than year old) showing nothing other than OA. Nearly one year (Feb 22) has passed since beginning of numbness & tingling in left pinky and ring finger. I am currently post left carpal, guyon and ulnar surgeries (Aug 22 - all at same time). These surgeries improved ROM, however, the numbness, tingling and crampy pain remain. I feel like my voice has and continues to not be heard when previous diagnoses of TOS (early 2000s), and complaints of shoulder and neck pain are mentioned, repeatedly! More recently, MRI to left shoulder indicates supraspinatus tendinosis & fraying/degeneration of super labrum w/o evidence to suggest slap tear. Doc recommends surgery (for slap tear) with remarks that this could possibly be cause of remaining chronic numbness and tingling. I have agreed to the surgery, but only due to the possibility that this may help... but I'm feeling unheard and hopeless and thinking issues are more cervical impingement related. Any Suggestions Appreciated.
I'm sorry to hear of all your struggles. I have to admit that shoulder surgery for numbness and tingling sounds odd to me. But with that said, I'm sure there are a million details about your case that I don't know. One would want to know the results of a recent EMG/NCS for you and then a lot would also depend on a physical examination. In the end, I'm not in a position to give you a second opinion over the internet (no one can reasonably do that). I always think it's a fine idea to get a second opinion before a surgery, particularly if you are not confident that the surgery will address your complaint. In this instance, you might want to talk with a non-surgical sports medicine doctor or a physiatrist or perhaps another shoulder surgeon. Ideally, you would be hoping for consensus that the surgery would help your symptoms or would not.
@@PrincetonSpineJointCenter EMG/NCS was done (april 22) prior to surgeries (Aug 22). I was confused with stated results of both the EMG and NCS. As much as I could comprehend/understand, it seemed to be a contradiction, to me anyway. The EMG results were stated to be an Ulnar nerve impingement (from elbow). The NCS results were stated to be in the wrist, specifically stated to be, Mono-Neuropathy.. about as vague sounding as Thoracic Outlet Syndrome or Irritable Bowel Syndrome to me, but I'm just the patient trusting that the MD's know what the heck they are talking about.... 😆. I agree, the agreed upon shoulder surgery (for slap tear) seemed very questionable after I got home from appointment and started researching it. Fortunately but Unfortunately, I rely 100% on the Veterans Administration for my Health Care. Although, the previous and upcoming surgeries were/will be done by a community surgeon through the VA's Community Care Program. The EMG/NCS & Cervical MRI was done in house VA. So, I'm not really sure how I'd go about getting a second opinion. Also, if a second opinion is possible, the time waiting for that second opinion would more than likely be months - considering that it generally takes at least three weeks just to see my primary MD. I know you can't offer medical advice/opinion via YT, etc.. but I can appreciate that we both tend to wonder about the upcoming (Feb 23) surgery. I had plans on doing more research into the slap tear procedure and how it could, if it could at all, be helpful in relieving my symptoms... Just too many "??" after my initial researching it. Thank You Kindly!
You can take a metal spoon, and some sort of lubricant. Hold it at a 35deg angel, use lube and spoon to scrap the muscle on the wrist, thumb, hard enough to where it’s not too uncomfortable. Scrape it, working the muscles and you should have almost instant relief. I’ve done this myself and it absolutely helps.
That's a great question. Many nerve issues like carpal tunnel syndrome can certainly also present with swelling. However, swelling may be consistent with nerve issues but it is not typical of nerve issues and so the first thing you want to do is to make sure to go to your doctor and rule out any other sorts of issues such as vascular or lymphatic problems. If something else is causing the swelling, the swelling itself can then be putting pressure on the nerves which then causes the numbness and tingling. Basically, with swelling as one of the symptoms along with numbness and tingling, go see your doctor to get checked out.
I am have prob in c4,7 my forth finger awful bend must straight it it so some times 5 finger in the morning when I wake up bad of course not fill good about other hand too but not that bad like left arms in thailand told me operation really not believe and I wonder you doctors give me some advice what should I do and how much cost to fix I know you in usa I am Australian I am 62 I hope here from m you
For what it's worth, (and I realize it's many months later!) I've been seeing an occupational therapist, and she has been incredible. Within the first few minutes of our first meeting, she noticed things that I've never had pointed out before or even noticed myself(and I look at myself in the mirror everyday, so no blame pointed at anyone I've seen prior to her!) - such as my right shoulder being significantly lower than my left. Pretty crazy difference, and once you see it, you can't "unsee" it! After a few suggestions and following up with her recommendations about seeing another specialist, and after having an emg, xrays, and mri- it's been suggested that my issues are, in fact, nerve related. I hope you're able to find some answers and some relief. If you've never been to an occupational therapist, maybe it'd be worth a shot for you, too! :)
Wow everything you talked about is exactly what I have I've been in physical therapy I've had the nerve test they said that I do have some carpal tunnel in the right hand but my neck has been painful for over two years nothing absolutely no injections nothing I've tried has helped I just don't know what direction to go I didn't want surgery from I went to a neurosurgeon I didn't want surgery on the spine but this pinched nerve thing what should I be telling the doctor to test me for to see if I have pinched nerve in my neck... I have been suffering too long and can't take any NSAIDs to reduce inflammation can you give me some advice please
Sorry to hear of all the struggles you have been going through. With the nerve test that you had, my first question would be if they investigated the neck or not. Sometimes if a doctor finds carpal tunnel syndrome, they don't continue looking for a Double Crush problem and they might miss a pinched nerve in the neck. Beyond that, it would usually come down to the MRI of the cervical spine and the history and physical exam. You put all of that together and you can usually be pretty confident in a diagnosis but of course there are so many individual variables that I don't know about you that would also matter. I would recommend you talk with your doctor about how confident they are in their diagnosis. If you aren't comfortable with what they are telling you or in the treatment they are offering, consider getting a second opinion.
Dr Cooper, you are amazing. I have no idea what I have and maybe I have a dual problem. First of all I have rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetes. I am not an uncontrolled diabetic and I am not on insulin. My left arm feels like it broken on the side of the bicep. I get tingling from that point all the way down in my hands. The tingling is mostly on the back side of my hand and affects my pinky through the middle finger. However, I also feel numbness in my thumb and index finger that doesn’t go away. I had an X-ray and was initially told I had a pinched nerve in the neck but therapy for that didn’t help. I then had an EMG on 1/2/23, and was told I had ulnar nerve syndrome. I was told to sleep in a splint and do flossing exercises. The tingling is horrible that goes down my arm. Do you have any suggestions for me. The EMG doctor and my rheumatologist feel, diabetes is contributing to my problem. Is there something more I can ask them to check. I hate the pins and needle feeling.
If the EMG was conclusive about the ulnar nerve being the problem at the elbow, and if the splint and exercises aren't helping, then I would go back to your doctor and talk about next steps. There are other treatment paradigms for Cubital Tunnel Syndrome so it may just be that you need to go on to the next steps. If there is a concern that something is being missed, you could consider a second opinion from another neurologist and/or physiatrist. They could do blood work to screen for basic neuropathy labs (vitamin B12, TSH, Folate and some others). I hope this is helpful. Definitely talk to your doctor about the lack of progress on your symptoms so that you can take the next appropriate steps. I wish you all the best.
Thank you so much, I know not knowing me or my health issues make it difficult but your advice is extremely helpful. It gives me a place to start. The Neurologist appeared to be very competent and I trust his diagnosis. He did tell me to take 2000 - 3000 units of B12 daily. I did start the B12 the same day I was there. I will follow up with my doctor to see what’s next. Maybe there’s nothing more they can do for me. The one thing they all feel is I should not do surgery because I take chemo medication and an immunoglobulin for the arthritis so I am neutropenic. Thank you for your kind advice.
Cutting out sugar is worth a try...I had tingling and numbness and notice decrease when I did not consume sweet stuff and too much carbs. All the best.
Thanks for this information it was very helpful.
I agree. I used to have the tingling bad until I cut back on sugar/carbs. Now I’m only get the tingling in my left pinky at night when I sleep only when I know I had a little more than normal carbs or sugar that day.
It’s caused by insulin resistance
What does sugar and carbs have to do with this? I didn't hear him say anything about food but I've had pasta and chocolate cake after for desert.
That may be causing my hard and fingers to become numb? Why would that be?
I do eat a lot sweet stuff 😳

MOST INTERESTING DR.GRANT COOPER . THANKS !! FROM U.K. (2022).
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dr. Had several episodes over my 74 years.
Double Crush Syndrome. I’ve been trying to find this answer for about 10 years now. Thank you
Very informative. Me and my some friends have this problem. Thank you Dr

The absolute best explanation you can get on the internet. Thank you Doc.
Thank you so much.❤😊
You need to have a surgery on that nerve
My left pinky is little numb for several years now, tried to massage the area nerves
around but never goes away and not worried much but learned to live with it. I'm almost
76 now. Thank you doctor for your advice.
I'm real sorry that you are suffering. May Jesus give you rest and relief.
PROBABLY PINCHED NERVE IN YOUR ELBOW
I have pain well more like numbness in my wrist area bout to drive me crazy smh. I work 12 hour shifts using my right hand a lot
Dr Cooper thank you for the great information because both hands are numb right now.
Wow this has also given me an idea I have had frozen shoulder for over a year. I am going to request a nerve test
I had frozen shoulder and got treatment by a chiropractor for 6 months and I’m all better. Still need to do daily stretches.
It has gotten worse and I have the numbness and tingling on both hands now.
go to a differe nt doctor, get mri/ekg
Thanks for the nice words. Sorry to hear of your accident. You should get to a doctor to check out the numbness and tingling. It's always better to diagnose and treat earlier than later. Glad you were wearing your helmet, by the way!
Similar broken bones and symptoms. I also have Kaiser....they just want to give a prescription for pain!
As a retired lifelong EMG/NCS tech, I’ve found that CTS symptoms are always worse in the middle digit while more proximal injuries involve the thumb and sometimes the index finger. To rule out double crush muscles more proximal to the carpal tunnel must be irritable.
😮
What do you think is the cause if my thumbs have much more numbness than any other fingers?
I feel at least very slight numbness almost constantly on my thumbs and sometimes index fingers but it gets much worse temporarily when bending my elbows or wrists too far. I am really worried about getting the right treatment before these symptoms might get worse and cause nerve damage. I appreciate any advice.
How do I know if the symptoms are serious enough to need injections or surgery?
What treatments most improve the numbness?
Thank you very much from Buenos Aires, you re very clear during your explanation. Congrats !
Muchas gracias! Eres muy amable :)
Perfect information. Thank you. I have a nerve test appointment forthcoming. I now know what to expect.
Had some tingling in my wrist/hand when I woke up. Shook it off. Had the same thing a couple of weeks later and shook it off again. Wish I had watched this video before shaking it off and determined which of the 37 different scenarios applied so that I could have eventually handled it the same way😅.
This video is very helpful to me Thank you, Docter I do have numbness in my left hand
How did they diagnose that I also have something at c6c7 but that was just an x-ray

I literally was almost done typing and youtube erased my entire problem.
I have degenerative disease also
my last two fingers are numb i believe its a pinched nerve,i love the video thanku
Thank you Very much Dr Cooper. This is very helpful. Are there exercises to help stop progression ? What will make it worse?
Thank you, Dr. Cooper.
Thank you very much indeed, Dr. Grant Cooper. We are learning so much from this video. 🙏❤️
Thanks for the video helpful information 👍
Thanks Dr. Cooper for your meaningful explanation.
In my case, symptoms of neck, arm, feet and leg nerve tingling was caused by Type 2 diabetes inflammation. I was insulin resistant. It went away after I cured my diabetes.

DEAR Dr.

Thank you gave my a lot of information do have the Nerve inflammat, have seen also a Neuralerjist
Thoughts?
@Ben Jovi
If you have cervical instability due to loose ligaments then you might not have findings of dysfunction on MRI. You might need to have a DMX (Digital Motion X-ray) to determine if you have cervical instability which can compress vagal nerve or other nerves.
Have you been able to get to the root cause yet?
It does sound like an EMG/NCS is the next step.
Thanks very helpful.

Thank you, for this valuable information!
sometimes happens after using power tools -like after leaf-blowing or pushing a power mower-the vibrations continue to disrupt the nerves for a while after
Very informative doctor, but I also like to know if the tingling goes up to the head on one side , like a little behind the ear but closer to the spine, can it be a sign of high blood pressure or a stroke ..
I have Raynauds disses which also causes these symptoms!!
but get evaluated for this too
The numbness wakes me up.
Interesting info. Thanks

Please also tell us about its remedy ...
Numbness, tingling, PLUS awful swelling....possibilities?
That's a great question. Many nerve issues like carpal tunnel syndrome can certainly also present with swelling. However, swelling may be consistent with nerve issues but it is not typical of nerve issues and so the first thing you want to do is to make sure to go to your doctor and rule out any other sorts of issues such as vascular or lymphatic problems. If something else is causing the swelling, the swelling itself can then be putting pressure on the nerves which then causes the numbness and tingling. Basically, with swelling as one of the symptoms along with numbness and tingling, go see your doctor to get checked out.
